I had the great opportunity to race Dragtimes McLaren 720S in my ES750RS 911 Turbo S on the drag strip. Thank you AIM performance and ES Motor for the spectacular VTG package.
991.1 Turbo S mods:
-ES manifolds
-991 GT2 RS OEM turbos
-ES cat-less exhaust
-ES custom y-pipe and plenum
-ES Intercoolers
-Methanol
-Stock ECU, stock engine

I see 2 points of view here : one is how fast can be a good car with added improves, and the other is how much mods take to beat a stock 720s. You made a missile and that McLaren is the benchmark to beat, both are true.

@ourworlds atwar a regular stock Porsche 991 comes out of the factory with 560hp and a 3700+ lbs, of course it would get dusted.
While a "stock" 720s come with 720hp and about 3180lbs. But everyone knows that Mclaren lies about the hp, but it doesn't matter.
I like the shape of 720s ,but McLaren's aren't reliable.
Anyway as i said I'm a Porsche dude, but that doesn't make me a hater for other cars.

ourworlds atwar learn what power to weight ratio is. Also the 911 turbo has four seats and u can drive it everyday unlike the mclaren. Not saying that mclaren is bad. It’s a very sexy and fast car but the Porsche is just really impressive for half the price
Well done, Dragtimes really needs to get out on you to have a chance because you ran him down a couple of times and blew by, also your trap speed was much higher you definitely got everything out of your build. That's because Brooks is a narcissist who will only race slower cars or comparably fast cars with noob drivers. I'm surprised he took this race. Surely he thought he had some kind of advantage or expected Fadi to screw up, but he was well prepared.

Don’t really need a lot of power to beat a 720s if your car is set up correctly, you’ll be hauling ass. There are also videos of vettes pulling hard on tuned 720s

But yeah a tuned vs a stock is not always fair, but considering this Porsche has a stock engine, a stock ecu, a stock transmission and stock clutches... and is heavier if i am not mistaken by around 400 lbs.. i think it did good, but i hear what you're saying

Awesome races and great content as always. I think the methanol/water injection allowed the 911 to overachieve with the high DA and warm temps in FL. I was actually surprised the 720S launched as well as it did against the AWD Porsche. Congrats on an amazing 911TS!
That Mclaren gets amazing traction considering the rwd. Tyres were identical as well.

To trap 146mph with only 800whp is very impressive. I know plenty of shops pumping out 1000whp cars and they can’t go 146mph.
Ya, and remember that was 804 whp in -2000 DA. I bet the car makes about 780 whp in “normal” conditions. It sure does a lot considering its porky weight, lol. Amazing little car! 👍

As you pointed out, you're not a drag racer, but did very well considering.
Based on video; next time:
*Set rear toyos to 25psi COLD! Then go from there.
*Drive around water box.
*Get some Heat in tires by launching vehicle, then stage.
*If racing the clock - shallow stage.
*If racing an opponent - deep stage.
*Either way...leave when LAST yellow light flashes - DO NOT wait for the green light.
*Swap lanes to gauge grip
Additionally, also based on video, with more seat time, you'll be cracking into the 9.40's.😳

U had him by close to 10mph, he runs 9.9 consistent, and 9.7 on a good day, with a good tree u can get a 9.5 with that 145-146mph trap! Plate says it all! Humdillah!

I feel the reason you're pulling so good up top if everything else is really close, would be the powerband. Your new setup is showing it makes pretty good peak power up in the higher rpm range. The dragtimes 720s starts losing power the last 1000rpm.
Maybe.. but modified cars usually has narrower powerband than a stock car..
I think.the reason just he makes more power, with identical.power to weight ratio. Remember , more power = faster at the top end. And better power to weight = better acceleration
@@dwitapratamaigede6719 sorry what! How do you figure most have a narrower power band. This isn't some gigantic turbo that doesn't make power until the last 1000rpm. The advancement in turbo technology over even the last 10 years is huge. He makes more peak power in the higher rpm range than the 720s. If both cars were the exact same, but one had more mid range peak, and one had more high end peak, the car with high end peak is going to pull more mph because it's spending most of the time there.....every single gear. There's a reason drag racers focus more on the higher end then on the low end!
That McClaren is amazing and rear wheel drive. I have an 18 turbo s and it pulls so hard off the line. I cant imagine the ride you had in yours modded. Great vid.

Power under the curve and superior traction. Also, your car is going to be less susceptible to the DA thanks to the race gas and meth (highly oxygenated fuel and cooler air charge). Good stuff Fadi!

Power to wait ratio wise, the Turbo S had a tad more than the 720S, the difference probably lies in the ability of being able to put every ounce of that power onto the track, namely the advantage of AWD. Also, may be DA is an overrated measurable. My thoughts are I felt the Turbo S was very well tuned while the 720S as a stock RWD car did what it was capable of doing. At the end of the day, there is a reason why so many tuner shops choose the Huracan or GT-R as their platform because it doesn't matter how much power you have, if you can't put it down onto the road it is useless and the Turbo S AWD package no doubt is one of those very effective platforms.

It seems like the ram air is affecting the power output mid track but I would say the same thing for both cars it's crazy to think a 2 wheel drive Car can accelerate like that off the line
Brooks is known for jumping the light lol it was a good race tho, also the difference in price, on would think the 720 should be smoking an older Turbo S even with mods on.

kick ass video as always man! the car is super fast. keep in mind that the +2000 DA did not only affect the McLaren but also your car. I see you running much faster with better conditions! You should try Atco at some point. It is a track that produces very good times! By the way, still on the CSF intercoolers?
The next month to month and a half here in Michigan will yield some negative DA’s. I am gonna go at it again here in MI when I get my car back and see if I can rip a 9.4x. CSF ICs are no longer on the car. They didn’t fit with the hardware on that car which is sad because they were on point!!!

great video and race!! It seems like both your times were getting slower as the night went on, your trap speed was still strong so definitely not losing power. The later runs you seem to cop a bit of wheel spin as oppose to the first couple of 9.6 that hooked up real well, possibly the track cooling down? You should try dialing the the launch rpm down a few hundred or adding a bit more timing back in so it doesn't build so much boost if that's possible with your ecu. The other thing you could try next time is starting the launch control a bit later when staging so that it doesn't sit there building up as much boost.
Good points, and I agree. A few reasons why I think my times got worse as the night went on..
1) I never adjusted the tire pressure as temps dropped. They sat at 31 in the rear and 40 up front all night.
2) I think I was picking up rocks as I was avoiding the water box, and leaving the launch area with debris. Notice my first few runs I wasn’t driving around anything since there was no water to go around.
3) The temps started to drop as the night went on.
I am not sure if you can dial in the RPM on LC using the stock ECU, but I’ll ask. 👍

One point. If your turbo was inhibited by the DA so was the turbo on the 720s. But also all-wheel or four wheel drive is always an advantage of rwd drive in a drag race. It might not always be enough of and advantage to win but better traction is always an advantage.
I didn’t clarify in the video, which was my bad. My car made 805 whp in -2000 DA. Brooks made 691 whp in +1700DA. Had I dyno’d in the same conditions as brooks, I probably have been a bit under 800 whp, or if Brooks would have dyno’d in my DA, he probably would have been a bit over 700 whp. That’s what I wanted to convey in the video but sometimes I have a brain fart. Lol. cheers! 👍

Ya, the right lane was reading low trap speeds. He made a run in the left lane and ran a 9.9@141.x if I recall. I should have explained that in the video. I am sure he will. 👍
He has always been on 137-141mph mark at these condition goes for both cars..

The shop that did the mods is AIM performance out of NJ. Tuner has asked me to keep the prices private which is why I didn’t make s cost video.
Great job awesome channel. I’m still more so impressed with the 720 s simply because it’s bone stock and still put up a fight. I think mod for mod it would be a different story.
Let's talk money and reliability, then. Lots of "stage 4" 911s out there that have been driven hard for years. They're about 2/3 the price of a 720S *after* the 911 is modded.

Awesome runs ....your lights weren't bad at all . I think your advantages were the 4wheel drive and gearing. You actually have the power to weight ratio advantage . unless you weigh alot more than him physically . 4.47 pounds to each hp to his 4.54 or something . Also torque readings on both cars would probably shed more light. Anyway great win .
My car made 804.9 whp in negative 2000 DA. On a "normal" day, it's about a 780 whp car. Considering my car weighs 3600 lbs and his 3135-3140 with the light weight stuff and makes 691 whp, he actually has a very slight power to weight advantage.
@@BoostITFORward IF those were the only things to take into account than you should have not reeled him in. Theoretically, if he out-launched you he should have kept on going, but it is clear that from a roll you'd just kill him. And he also has lower power loss on his side since he has a RWD car.

I know I'm 2 years late but I only recently found your channel and it's really good. I would like for you to get another 911 turbo s a 2022 if you got rid of the other one I'm not sure and tune the 💩 out of it and start taking down Plaids. Maybe something from ES Motors that would be great.

First of all Congrats 🎉! Secondly, I had always thought that SAE hp is always reported as corrected to ambient conditions (ie temp, pressure, etc). Lastly, it looked like your car darted to the right in first gear, and you had let off during at least one of the races. Keep up the good work 👍
Good races. I'm an avid Dragtimes sub and McLaren fanboy. But even I'm getting bored of watching Brooks win all the time.
I am wondering about how much the mods improved the time of the 911 over stock.
I went 10.7@129-132 (depending on tire pressure) when I had just an off the shelf race gas tune from Cobb. :) So 300 whp later, it has picked up over a second and over 15mph in the 1/4 mile. Not bad!
Hmmm...LOL. Around my neck of the woods, we call his RUclips production races: Dragtimes WWE style setup racing. This is what can happen when racing is more transparent without some questionable shenanigans. Just sayin'😇

Once I see that you can pull a 9.60 then you win! Otherwise if you loose your just loosing to Brock's excellent driving. I've never seen him do 9.60 in the Mclaren.

Furthermore, you may have seen a few of his cronies say that it takes a super modded 911 TTS to kill the 720s...well, Brooks himself posted videos of him beating modded vehicles and bikes...all of the cronies then said the 720s is such a bad mofo it can kill 800hp plus GTR's and so on. Thec720s is in fact an engineering master piece, but not the immovable force as many (mainly cronies) are sold to believe. Continuing, now that the script has flipped, these cronies are crying because their youtube god is losing to modded cars behind drivers who chose to race him on the real without the typical dragtimes questionable BS production.
Perhaps he should go to back selectively cherry-picking his opponents before these cronies start jumping off bridges. 😂😇😊

I just don't like how he finds bad supercar drivers/owners and exploits it as the "best representation of that car and its capabilities" with a weekend warrior driver who has little to no experience in THEIR OWN CAR. And then passes off the results as the "best that car can do". Brooks is a very good driver and has a lot of experience drag racing, etc. He typically races people who have no clue or never even been on a track. I commend Fadi for doing a great job for someone who is still learning and ,ultimately just trying to have fun and share the experience with people. I see Brooks more as a lurking track bully, and for his own selfish exploitation of these people. Oh well, people can do whatever they want I guess....smh

Da doesn’t matter cuz you were both in same air. To pull like that you definitely were making way more horsepower. That’s it. No mystery. No driver mod. Holeshots don’t matter. To trap 146 vs 135-140 you just made way more hp. Period. Maybe his dyno day was happy and yours was sad but given the weight diff, trap speed is hp. And aero which again I bet you’re even or maybe even advantage 720. Which just means even more hp.
