We have a decision to make - create balance or go along with the chaos narrative.

One of my favorite authors/podcasters, Michael Malice, published a book called The White Pill last year. It follows 4 major characters over the course of the Soviet Union and the Cold War, and how the threat of nuclear war between the USSR and the West was ended without a shot fired. It gets pretty dark at times, where you get to see the horrors of abuses by not just the Soviet state, but the people themselves against each other, but the point of the whole book is that even as brutal and awful as it got, as close as we came to annihilation, victory still came. The end result wasn't perfect, but it was so much better. The white pill isn't blind optimism, but hope in the face of what seems long or impossible odds. It's not a given that we always win every fight, but its not inevitable that we lose either.
Michael has plenty of podcast appearances where he talks about the book and the idea, from Joe Rogan to Lex Fridman and beyond. If you're not familiar with him, don't start with his X/Twitter, it'll give you the wrong idea lol.
