Literally came on to say just that about the antenna, kowrider pick ups were doing this mid eighties… mini truck in magazine days lol Mustangs didn’t take these cues until a little bit later…
I bought new in 1982 a Mustang GT at age 21. Mine was silver with black interior, 302 2 barrel carb, 4 speed I think.. I installed a Carter 625 AFB electric choke carb with a Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. This woke it up a lot, than I removed the cat and installed a test tube in its place, back than test tubes could be bought at any auto parts store. My friend and I cut the coil springs and lowered the car 2.5 inches.. When the original tires wore out I stepped up to the 220 55 390 tire from the 190 55 390. Micheline tires on metric OEM wheels back than. I drove that car 92k miles and sold it. Never a issue and changed the oil with a orange FRAM filter every 3k miles.. there was no synthetic oil in them days. My friend had a 1982 GT his was black.. I paid 10k for mine new. The aftermarket parts world was slim in the 80's.. Funny how far things have come now. I still have pics of the car and me with it, great memories.
Yeah, we had “R & S Strauss Auto Parts” stores back then, my girlfriend worked at one in Brooklyn, on 86th Street, that menza bootana and her finook brother. There were not many options for finding aftermarket parts back then. I think they are actually still in business, but moved their location. I remember when synthetic oil first came out, it was Mobil1, and that’s it, and it was very expensive. I had a ‘91 Wrangler, and would get all my parts at the local Jeep Dealer, which were OEM Mopar (and expensive). Doing your own maintenance back then was rare, especially for us that lived in tenements in Brooklyn.
the amount of custom parts are insane, and amazing job to the owner for putting it in the correct way to storage it. i love every detail on this, especially the pink stripes and the antenna. i would put the jet engine on this, i hope the owner will bring this beast on the road as soon as possible. get better soon guys, amazing detail as always
I hope you are all feeling better. RJ that was pretty comical to see you get in & out of this car. Kudos to Brent for thinking of the trunk latch in the glove box!
Great work! As usual... Btw, those yellowed, old plastics can be restored using a method commonly called "retrobright". Works really well on the beige and white computers and old consoles. Should work for the plastics of car interiors too
Every time you guys pull a back seat there are huge mouse nests made out of the seat stuffing. Do those seats need to be re-padded for comfort? I'd imagine a person would just be sitting on springs otherwise. This was a cool car- made me finally appreciate the 80's era Mustang!
My parents had and 89 LX 5.0 (had it made from the factory), sold it in original, almost perfect condition a few years ago. Kid blew the engine within a couple months unfortunately. We were hoping “Chip” had gone to a good home 😢
11.4 in the quarter is still pretty quick, even today. The c8 the high end model not the base model is faster, and the hellcats and demons, but the lower models are around there. Still pretty fast. But you can’t really spray a 200 or 250 shot at hyperutectic pistons forever. And it would take at least that much nitrous to get a that GT into the 11’s. I like the wing!!
Great job as usual fellas! Hope he drops the coyote engine in it. Love these ‘old’ fox bodies, in fact I’ve got a ‘93 Gt Vert in almost perfect condition, with 25,000 original miles. Love cruising in it with the top down. Keep up the great work!
That antenna was a style in the late 80s and early 90s. They were sold like that or you could try to bend it yourself with the right tools. You mainly saw them on mini-trucks.
Wow! I had the same exact car. Mine was a 89 GT, in 2 tone blue/gray with with five speed. Pretty much stock. I put 373 gears, flow masters and a shorty shifter. It was a nice car. I miss it.
They used to sell those Antennas in Trucking Magazine. They were made that way and you could put them on anything' A lot of Mini Show Trucks used to put them on Back in the day. Weird to see one on a Stang'. Not a Ford Fan But I have heard good things about the Coyote motor. Im sure it would make this car float if you put that in it.
Hey that’s an old two tone blue /titanium ! 429 cobra jet! Everyone has a coyote, make it different. That car has a lot of potential! I’d leave the look of the 90s nostalgia. For rims I’d definitely throw some mesh wheels and lower it.
that model came out in 1987 the msrp was 11k to 16k depending on options the convertibles were aroudn the 16k . you would have never been able to buy one for 9k .
Nice y’all found that in my home state. Here in PA, if not a collectors cars or drag racer, these are rotted out, overpriced for a somewhat clean one, or just someone’s failed project car. 😵💫😵💫
That sounds like it was one bad ride back in the day....built 5.0 with nitrous running sub-12's. That should get the 429 Cobra Jet. An old school car like this, needs an old school motor. The old cell phone by the console makes me giggle....at least it's not in a bag.
I know this option wasn't mentioned. But I'd actually try and source a 347 stroker. Would drop right in with no modification. The big block and the coyote would definitely require modifications. Just an idea. 😁
The background music matched the car. I would like to see a 1950's car with 1950's music. Maybe an Italian car and there is some fast Japanese rock out there. Could be cool.
What motor do you think they should put in this Mustang?!
Dont forget to like and subscribe!
dual Tesla drive motors! circa 700hp
Week 13 for seeing you shoot include wheel rim cleaning shots for cars that are filthy!!
Coyote!
429 Cobra Jet
LS Swap. Duh.
Graphics, wheels, and antennas like these were very popular in the mini trucking scene in the late1980s-90s.

Cool dude 🤩 I can imagine the fun driving that baby 👍

I get disappointed when there's no engines in these cars
Thought I was the only one lol
@@dawgatheart 😂
Black Brian O’Connor said it’s got potential
at least its for good reason 🤷♂️
Perfect base for an LS swap and one or two Nagasaki Noisy Bois.

If you remember the neon pink pin striping; then you my friend are of the 80’s generation! Welcome home! 🎉😂❤
Pussy
Best detailers IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Father and son project i would just go back as stock as possible, even the origianl 302 motors are a lot of fun especially for a younger teenager.
Under all the dust and dirt is a nice car the paint seems to be in good condition after sitting for 25 years
The white ones with the cheese grater tail lights looked awesome back then.
That’s the 90s-est car I’ve ever seen. Bet that thing came with a matching windbreaker, a beanie baby, and a jockjams tape.
That is certainly a child of the nineties and a roll cage that was a had to have 😂😂🇦🇺
I hope you are all feeling better. RJ that was pretty comical to see you get in & out of this car. Kudos to Brent for thinking of the trunk latch in the glove box!
Hope y’all are feeling better. Healing vibes to the WD fam!
The bent antenna was a thing people did in the 80s and early 90s to customized vehicles I've seen it alot
Oh by the way , we all did that to our antennas back in 1994 lol 😂 did that to my foxbody to !
Great work! As usual...

Wow!! BRAVO!!

I'm surprised it doesn't have the colored double blade wipers 😂
POWER PROBE 😎 Amazing work as always guys! Thorougly enjoy watching your uploads every Saturday!
The antenna was vibing during the pressure washing cuts 😂
That style wing and american racing wheels were super popular in the 90s i had the same set up on my mustang
5:34 Mercedes Benz Evo 2 190E , M3 Evo, nissan skyline
RS200

Love the late 80's
As you found out getting in is the easy part. Getting out, however, is a little more difficult.
⚡⚡POWER PROBE ⚡⚡
Too bad we couldn’t see the owners expression. I’m sure they were surprised. 👍⭐️
Hope you all are feeling better now. 🙏
It came out very nice!!!
I would love to have that NOS-PONY license plate for my personal collection.
They need to drop something in it. Gen 2 Coyote is probably best option. Easy to tune and can run 11s again with some upgrades

Love the vibe of the videos and your guys spirit. Always fun to watch the transformations. Much love!
Mike OH USA

I like the pin striping graphics on the car. I should do something similar
Nice y’all found that in my home state. Here in PA, if not a collectors cars or drag racer, these are rotted out, overpriced for a somewhat clean one, or just someone’s failed project car. 😵💫😵💫
That car is rad! I love it jaha
The car looked like the back to the future car when it was under that tarp .
Great job as usual! Get well soon!
That light on the headliner is called a Map Light back in the days no GPS so people had Maps 😂
I love the way they custom the wing it goes with the body
Looks like the back to the future car!lol😂
You guys do a great job, as usual, but I wonder if any of the not running cars ever get , back on the road
WD: POWER PROBE!!!!
Me: Power and Probe should NEVER be joined together, EVER. #FordProbe #TheMustangLives
Go with the 5.0! Coyote is a great engine! Plus it’s an already 5.0 GT!
I watch yall videos washing dishes I hate washing dishes yall make my time go by way quicker keep up the great work!!!!
That's a map light. So you can read your map. We didn't have GPS back then.
Have a 1989 GT fox body in garage, been there 11 years. Same color as this one
I'd think it was Doc's DeLorean lol
Take those headlights and turn signals out and put some vinegar water in there, it gets all of that oxidation out.
That sounds like it was one bad ride back in the day....built 5.0 with nitrous running sub-12's. That should get the 429 Cobra Jet. An old school car like this, needs an old school motor. The old cell phone by the console makes me giggle....at least it's not in a bag.
16:15 WOW! WHAT A TIME CAPSULE, LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL CAR PHONE MOUNTED ON THE DASH!!!! 🤟
Never heard of West & Zander before this video. Thank you!!! Fire, just like all your vids.
My fox still has its car phone in it too lmao. It’s never coming out
RJ: I dont know why there is so much mud in here... Then he finds the mouse nests... and I thouth, well, mbe is not mud after all... :D
We bent antennas like that in the mid 90s. Usually used a vice & bent it with no rhyme or reason.
Club 5.0 baby!!!!!!
👍👍👍
That was a map light for navigation back in the day.
Under the tarp it looked like the deLorean from Back To The Future
My favorite mustang, the fox❤
I had a 88 5.0 in high school, my girlfriend manly drove it, sold it after we graduated, should have kept it...
Get well soon Mike 🙏thanks guys for another fantastic video 🙏
I know this option wasn't mentioned. But I'd actually try and source a 347 stroker. Would drop right in with no modification. The big block and the coyote would definitely require modifications. Just an idea. 😁
The result is amazing
Such a nice build, I want do my spoiler like that now.
If you saw this underneath a tarp, what would you assume it would be? Definitely a Delorean time machine!
The antenna bending was a thing back in the late 90s 2000s
Cerakote works wonders on those headlights..
Wow, it's in great shape😊
Great video guys, feel better.
429 CJ would be a crazy swap 😳
I swear if I had a car like that, I would be so happy because that car looks amazing even if it’s dirty or not it looks perfect for racing
The Time Machine Delorean
Y'all steady stay my daily dose of 'Merica these day's!.. 🥰🇺🇲🦅
Maybe they bent the antenna to match the pink graphics on the hood and sides
A 429CJ would be pretty radical, but I believe the Coyote would be the better choice because of all the aftermarket performance options.
Buenas tardes, bonito video, un buen trabajo en este mustang, de los 90, ❤💪👌👏🇪🇦
You really crushed it again! Keep it up.
this is sick keep it up
The background music matched the car. I would like to see a 1950's car with 1950's music. Maybe an Italian car and there is some fast Japanese rock out there. Could be cool.
Nice job sir Nice Ford good show sir 😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Do the 429 . The coyote swaps are becoming so common in a fox.
Like a car from GTA vice city! Love it
Clean
Great video,.. Get well soon
Awesome video. You guys are truly my favorite to watch. Now I can get my weekend started
😮😮😮😮😮
You still don't have a pet...guess the fishtank was a bad idea.
Best foam cannon shots on the net!
the car phone brought back memories
5.0 and, I hope you guys are feeling better soon
The 5.0 should go in here. The 429 CJ deserves a 1970 body.
I purchased a 87 GT new for 14k so 9500 is for the 2.3.
Those head lights look new after just a rinse
Cobra Jet!
You should ask them for pictures of the car back in its glory days for a comparison of before, now, and after the wash! (If they want to of course)
Under the tarp I'd think the DeLorean from Back To The Future 😂
