Hello & welcome to Disneycember 2019 blog for those who forgetting my rules no foul language & these are what I felt about these Disney films/d-com's/Disney TV cartoons & others now let's get starting with "house of mouse" this was a great series seeing old faces like Mickey/Minnie/Donald/Daisy/Goofy/Pluto & others Disney movie friends in a club minus Pete & watching old & new Disney shorts during the show along with the "house of mouse" Christmas special & "house of villains" special as well that's all I gotta say here
iHeart Gaming and Whose Line Ironically House of Mouse isn’t on there right. It was one of the first things I looked up and I was mildly disappointed it wasn’t there.
This was more meta. And it’s cute fun for the whole family if your a die hard fan you cry tears of joy seeing all the characters together, regular fans and those who seen one movie of Disney can just laugh and some of the antics. And the animation is really impressive especially for television.
There was an episode where Pete gets punished to scrub the floors while dressed as Cinderella. Whenever he complains, Lady Tremaine glares at him from the shadows and he goes back to scrubbing, saying "Why does she have to stare at me like that?" XD
@@RozdlcI honestly thought that was pretty cathartic considering all the shit Pete pulled in that episode. I bet Tremaine volunteered to keep an eye on him.
I love how House of Mouse includes obscure characters like the Big Bad Wolf, the Giant, the Hippo from Fantasia. Also a literal easter egg from when Dinosaur came out.
Not to mention characters from Song of the South and even the Black Cauldron itself. You know, properties that Disney would not dare bring up ever again otherwise.
Mortimer was an obscure character that appeared in a couple of Mickey cartoons from over fifty years ago, disney.fandom.com/wiki/Mickey%27s_Rival and then became a semi-regular character on this show.
The best moment from this show is when Mickey is trying to prove he's the real Mickey to get an inheritance. He spins in a circle and says, "And the ears! See! Whichever way they turn, they're still round!"
I remember the Halloween special when all the villians got together and took over! Classic! Probably the most classic and memorable villan team since the Legion Of Doom!
I’m just happy that this show *actually* continued Max and Roxanne’s arc from A Goofy Movie... It’s definitely a story that I wish Disney expanded more upon these days...
Mickey's House of Villains is honestly kind of dope. "It's Our House Now" is just so fun. And also seeing Sorcerer Mickey who is my favorite version of Mickey Mouse vs Jafar is just so cool.
I was a bit underwhelmed at house of villains. It was hyped as a grand Leigon of Doom thing, but they only owned the place for 2 shorts. I was expecting some grand final battle between, all of Disney's good and evil characters.
I love the idea that all these Disney characters are in this place watching the old shorts they were in, like they’re actors sitting around and watching their past work
Marvel: "Infinity War is the biggest crossover event in history!" House of Mouse: "Am I a joke to you?" Disney: Don't worry Mickey... They'll regret saying that...
To be fair House of Mouse felt like it was the culmination of Disney's shared universe series. In the words of Marvel, Loeb, and Feige #ItsAllConnected
What if Disney remade this show but with the characters they have now Like Dipper meeting the gargoyles Or the beast meets the beast since Disney owns FOX WHY DON'T THEY REMAKE THIS SHOW
In my country they were never avaiable. Sadly Latin America got the short end of the stick when it comes to Disney programming in Netflix. Disney+ can't get here soon enough.
Netflix's gonna have a hard time once every network streaming platform gets online. Once the contracts for the shows end they're going to have a lot of their catalog taken out... Surely they have great series or movies of their own (loved Hill house and Stranger Things) but Netflix's main attractive was that they were the ones that had almost everything. The only good thing i can think about Disney owning Fox is that now we don't need to get 2 separate accounts to watch Fox's shows... on the other hand they botched the simpsons so...
Fortunately for me, I kept my DVDs of Mickeys House of Villains and Snowed in at the House of Mouse. Hoping this means the show and specials are going to appear on Disney+ soon.
really? i literally thought he was talking about it because he was watching it on Disney+ (IDK what's in there, the platform hasn't been released here yet)
Really?! House of Mouse isn't on Disney+?! I thought that Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was one of the very few animated shows that they didn't have the luck to be added on Disney+
Hades: What are you supposed to be anyway a dog a man a man dog what's the deal with you? Goofy: Oh, I'm just Goofy. Hades: Heh. You don't wanna advertise that.
he never actually said that in the scene, you know. in fact, i wonder who thought to put that quote to that face/scene when they have nothing to do with each other.
I absolutely love the Halloween special, ‘House of Villains’. You get several classic cartoons plus some newer ones and seeing all the villains go wild to ‘It’s Our House Now’ never gets old. I watch it every October.
Me too. House Of Mouse is just a montage of old cartoon shorts and modern shorts in the 2000s era. Imagine if there's a reboot, then maybe the 2013 Mickey Mouse series will kick in the screen.
The villains were the best part. Just having those usually serious, threatening characters out of their environment is hilarious. Like the episode where Jafar makes a deal with Donald to get back at Mickey in order to get the lamp and it turns out it wasn’t the Genie‘s lamp Jafar wanted, but some random lamp from Mickey‘s room because he thought it was neat. Jafar acts in-character the whole time and is as delightfully devious as he was in the movie, but here it’s funny because he’s getting all enthusiastically devilish over something silly.
Man, I loved this show as a kid. I still remember that one short with Donald that was constantly interupted my these monkeys who critized the violence shown on screen and then the short had to be changed to be more "kids friendly"
Doug's point about the voice acting is so on point. The characters try so hard no to go over the top, or be too loud, or too low, or too serious, or too silly. It's even worse in Kingdom Hearts when every line from every character is said with the exact same inflection. Than you watch something like A Goofy Movie, or especially the shorts show ran by Paul Rudish, and suddenly the voice actors are finally allowed to emote. It's like night and day comparing Mickey Mouse Works to Wonder World Of Mickey Mouse
My favourite episode was Hades trying to hit on Maleficant with the advice given to him by Mickey and just absolutely FAILING at it. 🤣 and the episode ends with him losing his shit and that's what gets Maleficants attention. Love it. And when Decendants 3 came out (PLEEEEEASE tell me you are gonna cover that) I immediately started snickering with all the adds asking "Who's Mals dad?" Dude it's Hades. And the fact that it's true and I immediately think back to the short and start laughing because it just gets me thinking... did Hades and Maleficant have a one night stand!? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this show growing up. Not only did it expose me to even more of the classic Disney shorts that I loved as a kid but some of the newer shorts they made for the show were actually quite funny and memorable. The Donald Duck skits were my absolute favourite. I also loved the idea that Mickey Mouse runs a place like this and the fact that many of the shorts are skits about a bunch of failed businesses Mickey tried to run with Goofy and Donald. I just love the idea that Mickey just lucked out after years of failure. That and I see a lot of parallels with The Muppet Show, with Mickey being something of a Kermit figure having to manage a chaotic environment while trying his best to stay calm. And I love that it's still him and his close friends trying to keep this business afloat. I would love to see this return in some form honestly.
House of Mouse was the first time Disney characters crossed over each other aside from Mickey, Donald, Goofy. As a kid this was surprising to see Winnie the Pooh interacting with other Disney characters!
That certainly could be interesting in theory, problem is that he’s just a little too straight in this series and the rest of the characters are basically watered down versions of themselves.
Doug usually loves what I hate and hates what I love. So I bet he’d love Captain Hook from OUAT. He’s the reason I stopped watching OUAT. Oh! And Emma Swan too. I didn’t stop watching it because, of her. I just dislike her the most, after Captain Hook. However, I can definitely tolerate her. So yeah... I bet Doug’s favorite characters would be, Captain Hook and Emma Swan.
Doug, loved your review. With that said however, there are two new characters that get me every time. Baby Shelby and his mother played by Estelle Harris. The way these two play off Donald Duck is freaking hilarious. Shelby tortures Donald while he gets away doing all the dangerous stuff and the mothers reactions are so over the top, it gets me every time and for me is the highlight of the entire series
I wouldn't say it is for "little kids", but more for "all ages". It is the ultimate Disney fanservice, for both new and old fans (at least at the time it was released) by showing you pretty much every single Disney character ever,. And while the newer cartoons are less violent, there's still a lot of wit to them. They kinda seem like parodies of the older cartoons, where Mickey is a lot more naive, Donald gets mad easier and Goofy is really dumbed down. The absurd situations the characters gets themselves into are hilarious, and the pace is perfect. I still love the show as much as I did as a kid
I watched this show well past my childhood and into high school. I seriously liked this show because it felt like I went to Disneyland everyday after school.
Dopy That's the point. Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh wanted to make a point about how formulaic most tv series are, so they started themselves on a formulaic premise to prove you can still have a lot of creativity in how you execute that premise.
Same here! I feel Doug is downplaying this too much as a show for "little kids." (He should save that label for Mickey Mouse Club House and all the other shows that try to be educational and insult its audience's intelligence.) It really shows it was past his time.
I remember when Disney Channel first started in 2006 where I was (South Africa) and initially wouldn't run 24/7. House of Mouse would be the first show to kick off the day and I have many memories watching it before school
I covered this in my "Forgotten Kids Shows" series. The show was mainly created to center around the "Mickey Mouse Works" shorts. Basically having to make a story that could relate to those new Mickey Mouse shorts that they had. This idea is creative, having a dinner club in the middle of Toontown, but the plan is always to have a story relating to these already made shorts
I freakin love this show. Recently went back to watch the show for the first time in fifteen years, and I was laughing my ass off at so many jokes and references in it.
😀I loved how majority of the original voice actors reprised their roles in these episodes. While yeah this was aimed at kids, I feel like I'm enjoying it even more as an adult 😊
Regardless of what you think about the overall show, Daisy’s debut Is truly an iconic and must watch episode, for no one makes an episode work like Gaston…… :-)

_Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover events in cinematic history..._
*Walt Disney:* [laughs like J. Jonah Jameson]
You know, the Infinity War jokes got old
Yeah I know
I watched this show well past my childhood and into high school. I seriously liked this show because it felt like I went to Disneyland everyday after school.
Just waiting on Phineas and Ferb to get the review it deserves.
Its gold what more can you say about it
Every episode is kinda the same...
Dopy That's the point. Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh wanted to make a point about how formulaic most tv series are, so they started themselves on a formulaic premise to prove you can still have a lot of creativity in how you execute that premise.
@@dopy6801 yeah which it is supposed to be in the comedy genre look at all of them and analyze
@@josiahjenksisawesome Maybe so, but that still doesn't change the fact, that I found the show incredible dull..
the 80s-Mid 2000s was Such a Great time to be a Disney Fan.
Doug: It's for little kids. It's for little kids. It's for little kids.
Teenage me who ate this show up: ...it is?
I watched this as an older kid and an adult.
I still watch a few episodes every once in a while and I'm an adult too
Actually, when a lot of people say “House of Mouse” they’re usually referring to Disney itself.
I absolutely love house of mouse
They need to reshow this freaking movie! All i see on disney is a bunch of boredom.
Sounds like Doug is ambivalent towards it
Same here! I feel Doug is downplaying this too much as a show for "little kids." (He should save that label for Mickey Mouse Club House and all the other shows that try to be educational and insult its audience's intelligence.) It really shows it was past his time.
Lukas Dobos I remember watching House of Mouse almost everyday after I came home from school when I was younger.
Such simple times.
M Rosé I totally agree
5:01, There's a new show that involves him, and he actually shows other emotions in it
I remember when Disney Channel first started in 2006 where I was (South Africa) and initially wouldn't run 24/7.
Can't wait to see what else comes this disneycember!
Also I loved House Of Mouse i really loved when the villains took over
Even Herbie the Love Bug appeared in this show. Just for that, I love it.
And he wasn't even animated.
Also apparently Hades and Maleficent had a weirdly sweet romance going on
This was my favourite show in grade school ❤
DISNEYCEMBER HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!!!
The CN city era is loved, even by is my favorite era, because of all the interqction bettew all caracthers.
first, spell check
second, that might be because of garbage this era has.
third: this video's about Disney not Cartoon Network
Andrewgamer135 CN city has always been the best era
@@poggersuni9637 CN City was good! The garbage era of CN was CN Real.
Its crazy how all the animated characters from every movie was in this show!
R.i.p Wayne Allwine ( 1947-2009 ) and Russi Taylor ( 1944-2019 ) You two are dearly missed.
Indeed
YES!!!!! THE VERY FIRST ONE IS MY FAVORITE DISNEY SHOW OF ALL TIME!!!!!
I forgot that some show characters like Pepperanne and Doug would make appearances as well.
I completely forgot about Pepperanne until I saw that scene.
When did Doug show up?
I do remember the cameos more than the stories of each episode. A shame as this is a cool concept.
Watching this show would always make me want to play Kingdom Hearts.
Little know fact, this is a prequel to kingdom hearts
This is the part of the "Age of Fairytales/Keyblade War" story that's rarely ever talked about. :p
This was my favorite show to watch after school
I feel like that one gif from the office
"ITS HAPPENING!!! ITS HAPPENING!!!!"
It's been over a decade and still remember it pretty well. I think if you watched it, it will stick with you.
I remember watching this religiously to stave off anticipation for Kingdom Hearts II when I was a crazy teen. I clearly had an issue.
Not an issue, a passion.
@@marcdimartino9118 Nah, passion is what I have now. Back then, I was very clearly out of my gourd
@@Mnemoniforma9.00 Oh, okay then! XD
You watched this when you're a teen? Wow lol.
@Yourt Uytr Meaning?!
I freakin love this show. Recently went back to watch the show for the first time in fifteen years, and I was laughing my ass off at so many jokes and references in it.
I live by Mexico so I had this channel that showed this show in Spanish and The Goofy Movie like ten times a week
House of mouse is so nostalgic
*Jim Henson's Dinosaurs is gonna be worth it*
Huh?
@@manuelalbertoromero9528 he’s excited to hear the review
Probably won't be remembered through the ages? Dude, it's been almost 20 years and people still talk about it fondly.
Again nostalgia critic definitely was pretty subjective in this video that I sorta laughed
Oh, this will be remembered through the ages.
We still remember it. So clearly it is ageless.
I loved this show as a kid. Although I was never that big of a Disney fan, the characters were iconic enough that it was still cool to watch.
I have so many memories with this show, definitely one of my favorite Disney shows and it’s one of the best ideas that Disney made.
I forget this existed most days, but it is the core of nostalgia for me.
Best dad joke from this show.
Goofy: There's 2 pig playing in the mud.
Goofy: oh wait I can't tell that. It's a dirty joke.
@ lmao! "What kinda club you running here, Mic?" 😂
😀I loved how majority of the original voice actors reprised their roles in these episodes.
While yeah this was aimed at kids, I feel like I'm enjoying it even more as an adult 😊
YES!!! I LOVE HOUSE OF MOUSE!!!
Regardless of what you think about the overall show, Daisy’s debut Is truly an iconic and must watch episode, for no one makes an episode work like Gaston…… :-)
This show was my childhood!
Same!
I’m so happy you decided to add shows into the mix as well!
And it's even available to watch on RUclips by itself
