I was very excited to open up my 9958 today, expecting to apply very little trim as this video demonstrates. I was pretty disappointed with the out of box performance. Trim was required on everything except the throttle. As of my first usage of the battery I am still not perfectly trimmed. Just a warning to everyone, not every helicopter is the same, and they won't all enjoy such easy setup like the one we see in this video.
@johnny24357 Also make sure your tail rotor is on correctly(1/8" stem toward motor). The prop should rotate counter clockwise and produce thrust to right when motor spins (looking from rear to front). Hope this helps.
@johnny24357 That is completely normal. The tail motor and rotor are working to offset the torque produced by the main motor and rotor which will spin the nose to the left naturally. So if you give the rudder left(turn nose left) the tail motor will slow or stop. If you give it right rudder stick the tail motor will increase to full rpm. This will keep the Helicopter from spinning out of control when you increase throttle. You want to make sure your tail motor spins freely.
Just got one of these, after a couple of crashes I knocked the tail fin off and put it on upside down and couldn't understand why it was so hard to fly!!! Then crashed again and it came off so I just tried without the tail fin, it flew fine straight away....Give it a try!!
I feel your pain, bro. My 9958 was a piece of shit too. I never was able to get it to fly right, then it took a crap and died on me. I sent it back to Xheli for an exchange.
@HeyFlashman Im sorry for bothering you but could you make a really short video of the helicopter (holding it down with your hands) and moving the throttle stick to the left or the right? It seems that my helicopter tail powers up faster when it move the throttle to the top right, but when I move it to the top left the motor stops on the tail. Is this normal? Does your helicopter do this? I guess a video would not be needed to tell if my tail motor was faulty or not. Thanks!
My 9958 will not trim very well at all then trying to find center again it not easy I have got this copter to fly I'm just not real good at it yet ... The tail fin wants to slide down the boom what I did was put a very small piece of tape on it to hold it in place that seems to have worked I'm still learning I hope I don't kill this copter before I do learn
The trim wasn't set correctly out of the box for the 9958 I purchased. The Helicopter wanted to drift (violently) to the left when I tried to take off. I tried adjusting the trim, eventually, all the way to the right, but nothing changed, at least until I crashed a few times, then, upon takeoff, I got a corkscrew affect that corrected itself a few seconds into flight, then the piece of crap went completely belly-up. Catastrophic electronic failure of the main circuit board. Purple Lemon.
Hi, goosemovie. I have the same problem about spinning when I increase the throttle. Did you work out what was wrong? How do you know which mode is fast? When turned off does it revert to fast mode or does the transmitter store the last mode?
carr869 are you talking about like a fast and a slow mode? if you press the throttle stick in it will beep and you can tell what mode you are in. I also had a question, when i give mine full throttle, it spins. Im assuming that its beause the tail rotor starts spinning too fast? anyideas to fix it?
I get it all trimmed in start flying it battery dies after about 7 min's or so then when I go to fly it again..( after I charge for 30 min's ) I have to trim it all in all over again why won't it save the settings ? This is my first 4 ch and I must say if all of them are like this one I will find a new hobby ... So fare I'm not happy at all with this 9958 .. cause it will NOT save the trim settings and that SUX

How about high and low rate modes? I know the MSRX HAS HIGH AND LOW.
