How do you program the different tones that you can transmit over GMRS? I also have a Uniden sds100 scanner, and have a GMRS radio, the wouxun KGQ10G. On there, I think it’s called side tone or something, and then there’s a setting called alert where you can change the different pitches of the tone.
I would love to just know what my department pager tones are instead of waiting for us to get a call and if we do I’m certainly not gonna have time to right down what the frequency of the tones are as I’m running out the door lol
Can you do a video on the clock set up? I set mine up the other day I didn't notice it was on military time can you explain how to take off military time? I need it on EST. I went back and tried to reset time but the option for 12hr or 24hr isn't there its still on military time I'm really not sure what to do now.
Ok my department where i live dispatches on 46.14 you will hear the call come across from dispatch but everything else is on the digital frequencies. So to hear only the station down the street from me getting calls enter 46.14 as the frequency and set my tones to 0.0 for both A & B tones i should find my numbers i need to only pick up that station correct?
Go to Edit Profile than go to Tone Out tab than select Delay Time. I usually have 5 second delay after there is no activity in 5 seconds it goes back to standby.
Good Vid on the tips , important for me to know all the FD's around here have tone outs

How do you know what your tone A and B are supposed to be for a specific frequency? Example is Beachwood Fire at 423.35000 MHz..
Daniel Corsillo If you put the Freq in the setup section and and have tone a/b 0.0 it will do a search for the tones.
scannerfreak thanks very much for the help
Get off my ham radio frequencies bitch.

There's a tone search function for that.
Can you use the tone-out feature with trunking? Salisbury City Fire where I live uses tones on 800mhz trunking.
You are not able to use the FTO feature with trunking. The Fire Tone Out will only work in the FTO Options in the settings.
You can you just have to hook up to computer.
Once your in this mode how do you get back to the normal scanning mode?
+Blake Wertz
Either by hitting menu button a few times or just hit "F+Sys button"
If I am scanning my favorites and a tone comes in will it alert me? or do I have to be in the tone-out stand by for the alert? Thanks
+Steve Boyle
You'll need to be in the Tone Out standby. You can't scan and be on FTO at the sametime.
How do I delete a tone out and once a tone goes off and delay is unlimited how do I reset it for the next tone out

I like the idea but it seems like just putting these in a favorite list would be the same if not better
On the Fire Tone Out same setup on all the unidens.
What radio did you use to send the tones
+Brandon Cooper
I used the IC-F43GT
thank you
A whacker radio. Because he's a whacker.
