There is no scavenging on a flat head because of the extreme turn of charged air. It has to take over a 180 turn. At that point the heat is imperative. With the aluminum head disapaiting heat and no fuel and air charge it will not start unless brought up to proper rpm before ignition
So, what exactly makes it a ‘flat-head’? I’m trying to learn more about engine types, and am curious what the difference between this and ‘knucklehead’ would be.
There is a guy in town with a Bel-Air that wants to race, he's been looking for you.
Lol That is not my car.
@@ItsonlyaJimmyGuessing you missed the joke
@Twin_Turbo I guess I did lol. Is it from a movie?

Wicked 55 Chevy 😐
Everytime I watch this, it never starts. I guess I need to recharge my phone's battery.
That's a good one buddy. Thanks for checking out the video.
Too much timing advance in it , flatheads only need about 5-10 degrees at idle and 22-25 all in. Sweet looking engine :)
Thanks for the tip
Cool sound bro
Its those dang plug wires they look like there from 1936
Dude spin it before you spark it. Edelbrock is a specialty item

I heard they almost got it started.
The reason it won't start is because it's a F-O-R-D engine Fix Or Repair Daily
Pity we never got to hear it.
I’m willing to bet the timing is off as some others have commented.
Next time try a video of it running off starter. Please. Or update caption: flathead doesn’t start
I'll title my videos the way I want to.
Sweet!!!!!!
Timing is my first thought

@@muneebrehman6288 huh, thanks. That’s seems more difficult to work on.
Is this for sale?
Lol no
Your timing is way off.
