It’s good you are aware and during marriage meetings, watch out for the red flags and don’t feel sorry for people. If you see red flags just end it there and then. Unfortunately the women in my family have had the worst, yet very good people. I’ve been very unfortunate as well, alhamdulillah. I kept it halal from the beginning, made duah istikhara and what not. It’s like a generational thing. However, remember this life is just a test. Allah tests those He loves the most. Not everyone is destined to have a happy marriage. Just be positive and whatever happens is Qadr Allah. The sahabas would cry that they had been forgotten if they were not tested. Our true spouses will be in jannah in sha Allah.
Surah 30 Ayah 21 And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. (Saheeh International translation)

Such topics about dowry, cast, culture etc and why these obstacles prevent people to get married as its genuinly happening. How can marriage be obligatory when it requires someone who mustfind you attractive and not everyone is made to be attractive. There are ppl who will never marry because nobody wants them. If Allah made marriage obligatory he would have to make everyone able bodied, wealthy and beautiful. Obviously Allah hasn't done this so Allah knows some people can never marry because they weren't given the ability to do so. So it's a sunnah for those who are able, not obligatory
