I have a beautiful 1.33 carat solitaire that I love I also wear it with diamond ring guard which dresses it up if I so choose so I can wear it alone or with the ring guard.👍🏻
Great job sharing your thoughts. Important to note that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Given the potential # of times one might wear an engagement ring it’s important to go with what you love. Over 30 years ago, we selected a princess cut solitaire and I love it to this day and have worn it daily. Although we didn’t have CAD or social media then, we had our imagination, access to a sketchbook and skilled jewellers who made a wax prior to the actual piece.
I love my ring its a old victorian platinum ring with 1ct blood red ruby in the centre and two smaller ruby at either end with two fabulous hand cut diamonds in between the sparkle and shine is gorgeous, for a very old ring it looks as new.
I really love the threaded/triple prong style. I think it's still classic and simple with an interesting twist, but there isn't a lot of content on it.
I appreciate the bezel set, it is easy to wear 24/7, and I want to wear my ring ALL the time! I find bezel set attractive and different. I like east/west set emerald cut diamond with non-diamond side stones. For me, alexandrite side stones as that is my birth stone. 😊
Hey Dominique new subscriber here 😊 I really like the way you present your vids and you are an inspiration to me as this year I have decided to make a life long dream a reality.. I have always liked jewellery and watches and I buy and sell a bit (but often my inner magpie makes me keep the best stuff 😂 Also have a passion for design and want to make jewellery, so thank you for these uploads, they help to know what's going on in the industry ❤
I love unique rings with colored gemstones, so I'm hoping for a ring with a purple centre stone one of these days :) Probably why I like vintage rings as well, because the popular modern styles all look very similar, while vintage rings were ornate and different. Btw, when is the video for wedding band trends coming? Would love to see that.
Yes I see what you mean, allot of the styles do look very similar. Oh yes we made a wedding band video last year but weren't sure anyone wanted it again! We will make it soon :)
@@DominiqueFlux Thank you!!! :) In that video can you explain about the practicality of wedding band and e-rings pairings? If diamonds can scratch eachother is it more impractical to wear a pave band with a pave e-ring? Is it more likely to lose a stone when 2 pave bands rub against one another? Or if you wear a pave e-ring with a plain wedding band will the diamonds eat at the metal faster than at other diamonds? There isn't a lot of information about this it seems, all everyone talks about is the visual aspect of what goes together well, not the practical one.
I hope with the influx of lab diamonds, the prices get so low that we can afford many of the styles. My favorite is the round brilliant cut with a hidden halo. If the diamonds got cheap enough I also love ovals and pears and emerald cuts. But the rounds are extra sparkly.
Mine came from Wal-Mart and it's very nice. Good price and cut, very clear with a J color. I am a bit rough on jewelry and this is a piece to wear daily.
What about champagne/yellow diamond?? I have a friend that just got engaged with a coloured center stone and then two white diamond on the sides(sorry I don’t know what it called). Similar to Taylor hills ring, Ik that was her inspo! Do you think coloured diamonds are trendy?!just wondering ur thoughts haha🥰
I’m wondering if yellow gold or white gold is more popular for rings in this past couple of years. I’m not sure if I should go 18k gold or platinum as I want to look more current
I feel it depends on the style. Allot of my clients who use platinum are making more classic, conservative styles and clients who are using yellow gold tend to be making more alternative engagement rings or rings with colored gemstones and not diamonds.
@@DominiqueFlux It's a marquise solitaire, so I'd say it's probably always been popular, at least to some. My mother told me, if my fiance has the good taste to pick me, picking out a ring was the easy part. I didn't choose it, but I've always loved it.
I think it’s great to have your individuality shown in your ring choice but you might find yourself tiring of the ring sooner than you imagined if you get too original. A stone cut like a rubber duck? I think the novelty would wear off faster(and need replacing$$)than with a more semi-traditional ring.
I disagree about the solitaire ring. My ring is a classic solitaire. I've worn it for nearly eighteen years, and I still love it. I can't ever imagine getting tired of or bored with it. I mostly agree about cluster rings, though the photo in the middle is so pretty. I wouldn't mind something like that for my right hand. It turns out that I inherited a ring, that I think can be called a cluster ring from my grandmother. It's not something I would have chosen, but I remember her wearing it all the time. I actually don't mind wearing it myself. (Cluster and vintage.)
I downgraded my engagement ring when I needed to replace the entire setting due to years of pool chemicals. My original ring had 5 graduated channel set diamonds on each side of my center stone in a scrolled cathedral setting, yellow gold with white gold 6 prongs. The shank was chunky 4mm to hold the not tiny side stones. My new ring is 4 prong all rose gold solitaire with curved neck cathedral in a 1.8mm comfort band. Dainty setting that sets off my brilliant cut solitaire. Solitaire rings can be extremely beautiful when the gemstone is allowed to speak on its own.
What's trending are actually the large lab stones. 4 and 5 carat rocks with hidden halo and pave bands. So much sparkle that it looks like costume jewelry.
Love the vintage design but I think it stinks if your prediction materializes that it will trend in 2024 for one reason. My daughter absolutely hates trends because of the monkey see monkey due mentality so many people have and buy something just because it is trending instead of getting something that actually represents who they are. She never followed trends and loves the vintage look and she will be getting engaged this Valentines day (she doesn't know but her boyfriend told us) and is getting a beautiful vintage inspired engagement ring. LOL I can't imagine her reaction if it does trend. I don't like that two stone look, never did. The halo though (and I mentioned it on your other video as well) I feel is not going anywhere as it has become a classic and I see gen Z wearing them and the jewelry stores I go in have so many in their cabinets and I doubt they would give them much space if they were not selling. Two of my daughter's friends that are already engaged have a halo. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what happens in 2024. What shape diamond do you think will be the next trend when the oval is on it's way out. I hear it will be the marquise. Oh, and my daughter's ring is not only a vintage design but also a heart shaped center stone. Vintage mix with unique. She will be doing cartwheels!
A diamond solitaire is not boring. It’s classic.

Ihave following in love with Art Deco.
I have a pear shaped diamond engagement ring and my grandmother’s round solitaire engagement ring. Love them both.
Pears give a very feminine look 👀

Hidden halos are so pretty!

Thank you for great content! I just got engaged and need to pick out a ring! xx
Very exciting, congratulations!
Kinda wish I knew about the rubber ducky beforehand 😅
I like hidden halo a lot!
I like ventage. Old fashioned and different stones.
Hey Dominique, loved this video!! Would love to hear about your ring too 🙏🏼❤️🥰
What do you think about pave prongs or studded prongs?
@shrutiiyengar1358 like what do i prefer? I usually go for bright cut
Queen Margrethe of Denmark got a Toi et Moi engagement ring from her French husband back in 1966. Beautiful ring
That's cool, what type of stones?
@@DominiqueFlux Diamonds 6-8 carats, square-shaped, cushion cut
My girlfriend is definitely a fan of the halo! I'm thinking it comes back into trend within the next 5-10 years as its a timeless design
Thanks for the video!

Yes for sure yellow diamond and sapphire are very popular! Maybe I should do a top 5 trending engagement stones!
I love the bezel look❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Right! It's simple but elegant
Radiant cut in a bezel setting. Does hidden halo work with a bezel set? Thanks.
Yes you can have bezels with full diamond pave or even hidden halos tucked into the metal :) it looks great
Thank you so much.

I feel so old. My engagement ring is 25 years old. I'm vintage now. Who knew?!😂
Haha love that! Did the style come back around?

@figracula1 oh that's definitely still relevant. It's a more niche choice but we see it all the time.
@@DominiqueFluxIt's not the easiest to wear daily, but we've been married 25 years, and that's always been more important an a ring.
Do you also preview gold jewelry ?
What do you mean by preview?
@@DominiqueFlux i mean do you show also in your vlog not only about gemstone but do you also show in your topic about gold items or jewelry?

Pool chemicals are so damaging. I found out the hard way with a beautiful filagree ring and powered chlorine.
Wo2?
I have noticed many young women are getting other stones such as onyx, perl, tanzinite and others. I like that.
Yes more and more people are choosing alternative stones then the classic diamond
What's trending are actually the large lab stones. 4 and 5 carat rocks with hidden halo and pave bands. So much sparkle that it looks like costume jewelry.
Costume jewelry has no sparkle at all.
Left hands? Left finger(s?)
👍🎁
Very good gift!
Ive had only 1 girlfriend., School will break people up.
Warm, Hot, 2?
Brain, Head, Bread?
2 stone is ugly and them you can not put wedding band.
True!
