Only recently found this channel and gotta say I’m loving these videos! I’m a huge jewellery and gemstone collector, so I thoroughly enjoy learning everything I can about jewellery and gems! Always so informative and very easy to follow along! 💍💎💍
I love your videos but would love a video about how mass produced rings are actually made. When advertising the companies stress that all stones like in a cubic zirconia ring are made exactly the same way a bespoke jeweler would make. They cut the stones and individually set each and every stone. This is so deceptive. If it was done that way, you could not sell a ring for $69.99. Thank you ☺️
Thank you for a very educational video. I wonder where you are. Have you stopped making videos? I miss your great explanations and teaching in the gemstone world. I hope everything is ok, and that you will come back soon.
I recently found your channel and subscribed right away!! I feel like you're so knowledgeable but also explain things in a clear, concise way. :) Super sad to find out your last upload was back in 2022 though. :( I hope you're doing okay irl!!
Just wanted to say I found this video and then watched many others from your channel. They are extremely helpful! Thank you, Andrew, for making these. The channel has given me so much information and I've learned a lot. Best wishes to you.
Aloha, Love to watch your channel, is that possible to show some examples of ring setting in Men's style? I would assume it would be using the same terms in men's jewelry, but it's easier to get the whole idea of it with images.
Hello, thank you for making these videos. My partner and I are currently ring shopping and you've empowered me through this process because of your videos. Really appreciate your content!
Thank you so much. Idk why you're the second recommend vid but I was looking for an explanation of channel rings and my gf is gonna love it. Everything else wasn't helpful and you made it so easy I'm so thankful of your knowledge
She's getting a moissanite but we already talked about it and she's excited for it. Second marriage but she hated the first ring along with the man that gave it to her
Great explanation of the possibilities of longevity & style verses risk & repair or replacement of each of the design aspects. I occasionally design mens rings because...... well, almost no-one does. I designed my self a 2.6ct Asscher cut Santa Maria de Itabira Aquamarine ring in .950 Platinum. Because I dislike big, chunky rings, I had 6 VS1 E 2mm diamonds (representing my 6 Grandkids ) offset to one side @ about 35* into 2 rows of 3 from the table of the feature stone to reduce surface area. The Aqua was "End-set" in the mentioned tension setting to afford maximum light play but was also secured at each corner of the stone by a minute drop of crystal UV activated glue to stop the risk of ANY loosening or movement. It has worked beautifully & everyone remarks on the design & of course, the colour of the Aquamarine itself. Wish I could show it off here... very proud of the finished product.
I would really like to see it!! I bought my hubby a nice trillion Aquamarine for his B-day years ago, and we’ve never gotten around to having it set. I have drawn up ideas though.
Your Average Jeweler, I have a question. Can a jeweler tell a real stone from a fake by looking at it in the shop? I'm not interested in how much, how clear.. only in things like: "Yes, it's a real stone/gem" maybe even being able to say it's a garnet, amethyst, aquamarine,... . I'm not really that interested in a full analysis and only a rough idea as to value.
I know you haven't uploaded in a while and maybe I'm overlooking a goldmine of information but could you please do a more in-depth pearl video? Thanks! :)
Like your content. I've learned a lot and feel much more confident than i was. Wish i could come buy my ring from you. I'd feel i could trust you. I am planning to upgrade my wife's ring this year. I watched your video on the 4Cs as well. Will continue to research more of your videos but feeling good right now. Thank you. Awesome video. Again learned a lot.
Yes! That is so annoying!! They should call it “Art Deco style” or sth. like that. It’s a fraud and it would be treated as such in a court of law. Unfortunately nobody seems to sue… I think I can distinguish the original from a replica, but you never know. It is quite easy with silver though. Most old rings are 835 plated. That’s not really used in the western world anymore. Original Art Deco jewelry is usually not “Sterling Silver”. Some peaces from the 1980ies (like salamander-brooches and snake-rings..) are pretty though. But they somehow lack the exclusiveness and quality that the hand made, creative and detailed jewelry of the Art Deco makes it so special.
Excuse me, I'm working on a friend's birthday card. It involves a jade owl. Can I get your opinion, to see if I successfully got the correct color of jade? There are different kinds of it on Google Images, and I'm very OCD and uncertain.
Hi! I’ve watched all of your videos and I’m looking forward for the next ones!! I’d like to know what are your thoughts on mixed metals stacks like wearing a gold ring next to platinum band. Also would appreciate info about the different gold tones and their pros and cons
Hello I need help identifying a ring that I can't find anywhere, it's real a real 10k gold antique ring that is very unique and has a hallmark but not found at all as been searching for months. It has 8 real diamonds and are separated in to two different rows of for, one is sticking out facing upwards, and the other row of 4 is facing the opposite direction of the ring normally on the exterior; please help me identify it, I've been trying ever since my mother passed away as she had gifted to me to use as a wedding ring for a future lover.
Hi! Would you choose a 1.80ct D/E color diamond with low clarity (i1) and good cut over a bit larger diamond (2ct) with J-color, vvs2 clarity and good cut? Thanks so much!
It partly would depend on the specific stones and sometimes the lab used for grading, but speaking generally (for my preference) if using white metal go for the “whiter” stone and more yellow stone in a yellow Mount. I world personally want to see the stones next to each other before deciding though. That can sometimes make the decision easy after seeing them in person.
hello, good day, you know, I have a rarity of alexandrite and it is very large, its tone is medium blue-violet and red, it has more than 10 carats, it is oval, I have it as a collection, I am thinking of selling it
Not meaning to offend, but HOW do you know it is actually the mineral Alexandrite? That is a rare stone (If it is genuine, natural Alexandrite. It could be synthetic too) Only an official lab inspection and report will tell you for SURE.

Please post more videos or at least tell us why you no longer are. Love the videos and content! I hope everyone is well and doing fine!
awesome gemstone ring
I have seen the 90 degree corner piece attachements. Do you know what they are called?
pretty comprehensive for beginners, loved it!
Thoughts on blue diamonds?
The NATURAL ones are splendid! The irradiated or dyed ones look kind of cheap.
My favorite is bar-settings, especially for men’s rings.
Excellent content 👍👍👍👍

Does it drive anyone else *Nuts* when online sellers call ALL of their jewelry “Art Deco” ?! Even the machine made pieces made in the 1980’s 😣🤦🏻♀️
