Yup tactics is the best build for this area. Since the enemies is doing crazy damage especially the stomper and the ground shaker

You get the worst enemies, and 3 levels worth of space in the Cavern to fight them.
At least the loot is good, i suppose.

This stage is absolutely terrifying, but I always want to travel to it just to hear this banger. (then I get annihilated by slammers and ground pounders lmao)
In this game when you choose the path you choose not enemies you can handle, but the music you want to hear.

Exactly. It’s as if you made through to the end of the castle only to find that not only did everyone betray but you are outnumbered 100:1 and you are the only person with the knowledge of how deep the darkness and deception goes before you are killed.
same, this and fractured shrines theme are so hype
3:32 this brought a sudden creepy ambiance for me, it made me go hitless against 63 mobs first time traveling the Caverns

I love this games take on a cavern level, it’s not dark and dull, it’s extremely bright and grandiose in scale. This soundtrack really solidifies that idea, plus the drip skeletons power walking everywhere really make sure you never forget the place
My FAVOURITE Ost in The Whole Game
Beyond reason is super good too
This is actually the first thing I always look forward to when a new update arrives.
Everytime I get to a new added area i just spend 5 minuts to enjoy the full track at least once.
Dont know if i would love the game the way I do if it wasn't for the music.
@Tomtrolleur In Risk of Rain, 50% of the enjoyment comes from the music, the other 50% come from hour long runs where you're just too op.
In Crypt of the Necrodancer, 90% of the enjoyment is from the music, but that's just cheating.

Boss cell struggles
I was somehow overprepared for the giant, but not the level. Had blood and sadists (legendary) sword, got shredded by birds, and giant got shredded by a walking flame

Distillery is the hardest followed by Astrolab. Cavern could be the third hardest area but at least it has a lot of space and less trap, it worth to go here since you can only get access to xii level weapons.

Going through all those slammers and Arbiters might be a tough task, but it's worth it
When I first entered the Carven, I was doing super well, and then I got multiple times and didn’t want to use my flask so I decided to leave it as half a heath bar and I was running, and see this weird guy with kinda like a trump feet

This is great but Astrolab is much better, it might be the best area soundtrack in the game, it really feels like it's the end of your journey.

ye the astrolab song really gives you a feel of how the game will end. A song with such atmosphere going on that keeps you immersed and gives you energy for the last moment of the game. tbh all the songs are good in dead cells but the astrolab had it on point
I can imagine, but I honestly refuse to listen to any area's soundtrack until I've actually earned it by reaching the level, so as much as I'm tempted to, I just can't.

What do you use to compose this stuff? And what soundfonts?
Hey ! I work on Ableton Live as it's the DAW I'm the most comfortable with. I use a lot plugins from Output (mainly Exhale, Analog Strings and Brass), East West for orchestral, some drums and choirs, few things from Native Instruments, some Korg's plugins from Gadget, Electric and classic guitar, and eventually samples recorded and accumulated thru the years.
And certainly other things I forgot to mention, but it's mainly everything for Dead Cells' ost.

When I heard Dead Cells Osts.. almost anyone of them makes me think... Motion Twin would do a lot of money if it makes a movie or a series about it.. I think a movie would be better though..
