If you watched All the Bright Places where Justice has starred on, his co-star Elle Fanning is also the same. She usually plays British in many of her movies.

English actors can sometimes pull off an American accent, but it's very rare for Americans to do the same due to less exposure to it (they end up sounding like Emma Stone in The Favourite or Renee Zellweger in Bridget Jones). It wasn't a generic accent either.
Drew looks absolutely stunning in this outfit. The material, tailoring, color, is just perfect for her. Love it! Even her set seems to have come alive. Happy Saint Patrick's Day Ms Barrymore! You look fabulous!!!!!!!🍀

Wow, Justice Smith from All the Bright Places, co-starring with my other favorite actress, Elle Fanning, and also features one of Drew's exes, Luke Wilson. He played Elle's father in the movie.
In addition to the sign language, he apparently tried to make the spellcasting gestures as complicated as possible to see what craziness the VFX artists would have to come up with, according to the BTS interviews in the films special features videos.
