    Same mindset. Why would I want to take on more lawns then I can handle myself just to pay for the expense of a helper and net the same I do now? But now I have the liability of a helper more customers to manage in this crap economy along with additional fuel cost and wear and tear on my ever increasing price equipment. I'll stick with enough to keep me busy with little to no over head.

    Best employee I've ever had has been my son. Same mindset as me and refuses to do an unprofessional job. Took him a while to catch up on the trimming I've done for 30yrs but his equipment is his and he owns the responsibility of maintaining it. I'll just be there for assistance. Hopefully one day our rolls in this will switch. Love the #wheelmarks.

    Hey Doc , good points . I think I know the guy you’re referring about with the employee issues haha… the only problem with getting someone with the same ambition as you is they will probably go off on their own in a short time if they are wired similarly to you.. it’s hard to find the right guys for sure! I’ve got to do a better job at finding some good ones.. btw it’s much easier to find a quality employee in off season than right now.. that’s main reason why I’m putting up with the bs with 1 guy in particular. I feel confident I’ll find better help in the off season

      Thanks brother! Yeah, I am sure he is a great guy to work for but unfortunately the work ethic is not the same as when both of us were younger. we're in the same boat...i choose to work longer hours in my repair shop by myself and cut back on doing pickups and deliveries. i also got a lot more picky about what i take in. i downshifted to make more money that i need rather than doing all thats possible. i can hire people to do my pickups and deliveries and take in everything that comes my way to grow but at 51 its not worth it and my body and stress cant handle it. for me and my situation i do well and anymore aint worth it.

    Hey, Doc! Class A wheelmarks, Brother! Good footage. Good talk. The music? Eh, not so much. All Bible verses are significant and hold messages that many don't understand. My favorite is, in my opinion, the one that holds the most important message and the one I TRY to live by. John 14:6 - I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    It's beautiful and straight to the point. It can't be more clear. Keep it REAL! TRUTH! Peace. God bless.

    Hiring and retaining responsible employees in any business is a problem. There is always turn over and employee conflict concerning perception of fairness. If the business goal requires hiring employees then the challenges go along with it. This includes continuous training because of turn over. Lawn companies function every day with employees.
    What you said in this video is absolutely true and should be said. The nice thing about the lawn care business is that it can progress or regress and still exist.
    Negative employees are not going to win in life.
    Galatians 6:7 “Do not be misled. God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a person is sowing, this he will also reap.”

    surpass 1.5 million to really see profit if you want employees…… i’m not speaking of you.. just general business on the medium scale. There is particular bottlenecks that take affect growth sucks cash this includes labor admin work and so on.

    • @DOCREAL1118
      @DOCREAL1118  3 месяца назад

      I don't think I quit agree with that but depends on what numbers you're trying to get to.

    • @Crslawncare13
      @Crslawncare13 3 месяца назад +1

      To really make a profit past 40% after labor, you would have to reach 1.5 million in total for the business.. when you’re at 500 to 600,000 you need an admin that’s gonna take 50 grand to 45…. The lower earnings per year would only yield 30% after labor is paid… so that’s why the number 1.5 million is when you really become more profitable but then when you go up a little bit higher, you’re gonna have labor problems again so it’s a constant evolution
