It is true! No one ever wants to look where they are going or they think everyone else is going to slam on their brakes to avoid them. Ironically these people show up a lot when there is no one behind you. It is as if they just want to pull out in front of you just to do it. They pull out like they are in a massive hurry and then they often drive so slowly you wonder if they are drunk. How many of them are texting is something I can't really answer for sure but it is a curse on our roads with everyone doing it and seeing to think that it is OK. Other times people who do all of these things might say we are in a hurry. Really they are just trying to falsely spin it the other way. These people sometimes make a trip take way too long and we shouldn't have to leave super early just because they want to play these games with us. We have a life and that is something that they don't seem to have!!

I get cammers at fault, but the other truck had plenty of time to see him and change lanes. A semi truck could be waiting hours to pull back out if they waited for a big enough opening to get up to speed before the next car comes. The left lane was free and clear, and if the other truck was paying attention, it should have moved over. Even if the cammer wasn't pulling out yet, he should have moved over.

45MPH is all it takes to hydroplane a car, that is an on ramp to a divided highway which is safe to say contains a 65 or better speed limit which means you can't tell in that particular situation if they were going to fast since they would NEED to be being at least 50-55 IF the speed limit is 65 to safely merge into traffic.
You should be doing no more than 10 under the posted speed limit when entering from an on ramp as that is the the expected speed to safely merge or slow down based on how traffic is already on that divided highway.

Number 10: as a trucker I actually complain about truck drivers doing this all the time. When you stop on the side of the road aka the shoulder you are supposed to use the shoulder if available to get up to speed at least somewhat before merging onto the travel lanes again.
Even if it looks somewhat clear and the guy coming up behind you in the right lane could move over if they are paying enough attention you still have to be careful. that is the whole point of getting up to speed before merging back on.
This is what can happen when you do not do that and almost no drivers do this for some dumb fucking reason. They have zero problems using the shoulder to slow down but they can't use it to get back up to speed.
I can absolutely guarantee you that if the police got involved, even if the driver in the travel lane was sitting there on his phone he would not be considered at fault because the one that caused the unnecessary problem aka the accident, it was entirely the fault of the guy who entered the travel lane while going 5 mph.
For my fellow truckers that don't fully understand what the hell I just said yes you may not have been taught any of this while I'm driving school but most state laws say this and that includes four-wheelers as well as semis.
When you are getting moving from the shoulder you must start getting up to speed while your 4 ways are on. They once you get to around 30-40 miles an hour if it's safe to do so you turn on your left signal and slowly get into the travel Lane. Once you are in the travel Lane turn off your left turn signal and make sure your four ways are still on until you get back up to speed that the highway is set to.
Just because it "should be obvious" does not mean you have the right of way any point in time. You must yield to traffic already in the travel Lane as if you were getting onto the highway from an on-ramp. If you don't know the yielding laws about that you should not be a driver at all.

Just a friendly word of advice to drivers out there. If your auto insurance limit on property damage coverage is at $100,000 or less, think about how much money you're still going to have to pay if you run one of these big rigs off the road and seriously damage it. Your company will write the check for the limit you carry and the trucking company's insurance carrier will come knocking on your door for the rest. If you own any equity at all that you want to protect, bump those liability limits up, folks. With the cost of everything going sky high, this could be a real trap if you don't address it BEFORE something like this happens!

You never know when you're going to meet with a chip truck or logger, and on tight corners and hairpins the trailer always comes at least over the doubles if not a foot into your lane. #10, why don’t truckers use the shoulder to get up to speed? There’s been several time i’ve had close encounters with them pulling out and making traffic slow down or down right pushing people into the other lane

The one time I pulled over on the highway I used the shoulder to get up to speed before merging back and I have a hatchback. These truckers are 🍑 holes cutting you off

@@MASTERTRAINERMADDOG I genuinely worry for people, like the shoulders is big enough to get up to speed and leave the emergency lights on, its not a hard thing to do

7:50 #14 With that settlement money, buy yourself a brain and learn not to cruise along in their blind spot anymore. Yes, it had fender mirrors. Although if a vehicle is in the right(or wrong in this case) spot, then the truck isn't going to see it.

    3. Wow where do i begin, Changing lanes without checking mirrors AND in the far left lane? you can CLEARLY see the car in the mirror.

In #10 get your speed up to at least 40 MPH BEFORE coming off the shoulder.

Pulling out that slow, it is absolutely his fault. Especially when everyone else is literally driving 80.
