  • Chad DeDominicis joins The Jeremy and Joe Show to talk some Sabres. The guys kick things off discussing the lack of response from the Sabres following a dirty hit to star Tage Thompson in Sunday afternoons matchup with the New Jersey Devils. Then Jeremy and Joe ask Chad how likely it is Elias Pettersson will still be traded following the Canucks big moves over the weekend. Chad explains why he believes the Sabres still have a chance and why they should continue pursuing the trade.

Sabers have more important needs than a player like Patterson The Sabers offense is not the problem it's the defense trading away a defenseman for Patterson doesn't even make sense Sabers need a couple good defensive forwards.

Sabres love slight, soft, skill players. He'll fit in fine in Buffalo

Love my Sabres, but this is wasted time, wasted conversation.

I think Pettersson would do well on the Sabres away from the intense pressure of a Vancouver market. I think he's not built emotionally to be able to handle it.

I laugh.. 1 I think it's stupid to give up a nice powerplay to get useless and often painless revenge (painless for the chipshot team... ).. 2. the announces missed what happened.. maybe, just maybe.. the players on the ice missed it too.. lets face it.. if not for the contact to the head.... it would have been clean.. that's a very fine line apart.. So the sabres not trying to start a fight are not being soft.. but probably were more a WTF moment. At the time, unless you were watching clearly.. mostly probably didn't realize it was more than a simple collision.. Unless you have a Tiger williams, Dave Schultz, Marty McSorely or Jeff Beukeboom on your team.. you probably risk more getting your guys hurt trying to do the eye for an eye stunt. Razor is in the booth, not on the ice..

      Just a terrible reply

@@BrienConnelly Why? Because you didn't like it? I grew up in the 70's when things were at their height of goon-hockey.. Slapshot was supposed to be a parody.. a little too real though. It was a time when just a cross look started some teams (flyers most notably.. but most) into a fight. I've seen to many retalitory fights get the wrong guy hurt more than anything. Unless you have an enforcer.. it's often not worth it.. and the hit on Thompson.. I bet most of the tme didn't even realize what had fully happened.. from one end of the ice.. it probably just looked like the run of the mill collision.. no biggie.. from the side (where NONE of the sabres were I might add) or on slo-mo.. blow to the head.. I bet they didn't even realize what had happened. Are they soft... at bit.. their toughest guy was just sent to Rochester (Aube-Kubel).. either way, again.. I don't think they realized real-time what transpired.. and if they had.. we'd have probably seen a full penalty box...

I grew up with the early 2000 Sabres, the last teams to be successful…. Do I need to repeat the comparison to the drury hit? Drew stafford a rookie non fighter stepped in and fought one of the toughest players in the league without a second thought. I’ll pick on Owen power first since he was on the ice for it… even though he makes me so sick as a fan of this team I try to avoid thinking about him when I can. I remember last year Dahlin taking an elbow to the face right in front of him and going down on the ice. He did nothing. If I’m not mistaken the whole team did nothing but it was right in front of him. That is unacceptable on any winning franchise. His absolute 100% lack of physicality is a cancer on this team…. You know what, I do not have the time today to go into detail on everything that is wrong with this team. It is so blatantly and painfully obvious that if you can’t see it I don’t think you ever will. I come from the same mindset as Peters and Rivet on After the Whistle. I’m guessing that if you listen to them your shaking your head while I’m nodding mine… we have different philosophies. I think your wrong in undervaluing team toughness and more importantly sticking up for one another. Hope we both get to see this franchise turn it around one of these decades.

@@BrienConnelly I don't think there's enough time in the month to talk about everything wrong. The biggest issue.. they are too young.. they need some good vet leadership to show them the way. Johnson was supposed to be that last year... that really worked well... NOT. I know we all wanted a forward.. but really no good ones moved that were not already with issues (like Stamkos and age (not to mention he was faollowing Marchessualt))... We have inconsistant goal tending... we have a few problems.. really what they need is a round of playoff hockey to grow them up.

@@ronpeacock9939 I agree, I'm tired of wholesale changes to the roster. These players have all shown the flashes. The only thing they lack is consistency. None of these players have yet proven that they are absolute garbage and can't play in the NHL. Ultimately this team has the talent to be a playoff team. Their consistency issues is a coaching issue. I think now that more than half the season is done, I think we can start to talk about how Lindy hasn't gotten the best out of this team.
