LED Backup Light Dimly Lit When NOT in Reverse [Polaris Ranger UTV]

I will be installing a relay for a backup light on a 2016 Polaris Ranger XP900. This will resolve the issue of having the light dimly lit when the switch is off and/or the ranger is not in reverse. The backup light should only turn on when the Ranger is in reverse. This specific relay harness kit is designed to fit a 2015-2019 Polaris Ranger XP 900/1000

Great video and exactly how it should be done. If someone is still to purchase a light, there is a kit on eBay that has fixed the glow issue within the light harness itself, no need for relay. Hope this helps someone

Relays are generally very inexpensive. This one is very pricey. Is the dedicated ground critical? Most relays don’t have the dedicated ground and I’m not sure if that feature is required to fix the dim light

The bigger question is why doesn't Polaris have backup lights, cfmoto does. Polaris pay more get less. Same for canam.

I've heard of this issue happening up to the 2021 models. I would suspect it is likely a problem for the 2022 models as well.

So the fix for a $10 light is a $65 relay harness? Thats dumb as shit…..
Just leave it be. After machine is off for 5-10 minutes it goes out of dim mode and doesn’t affect battery life.
