  • Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth look at the 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, the last year of the B-body sedans. During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
    FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth reviews/tour of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of RUclips!

    This is such a simple looking car but somehow it just really hits the mark. It looks unassuming at a first glance, but the more you look at it, the more aggressive and badass it looks. Probably one of my favourite cars to come out of the 90's, and one of my favourites of all time. A true American classic.

    Have a 96 DCM. Put a custom exhaust on it for a more aggressive sound. Took out the 3.08s and installed 3.73s! Really wakes the car up and makes it quick. Sent the PCM out for a performance tune. New drilled and slotted rotors and calipers all the way around. Upgraded the headlights because it's my DD. One of the best automobiles I have ever owned. Really fun to drive. Have taken it to Canada three times. Great highway cruiser. Came with an upgraded suspension stock so it's a lot more nimble than you would think.

      If u change the optispark out to the 24x coil pack system. No need for a ls. U can make more with the lt1 u can make 400 to the crank on bolt ons and heads and cam, . Doing a 11:1 388 lt1 is easy upper 500s

      TossedSaladMan iPreferSyrup What difference did the switch to obd2 make?

    • @shtupidmate
      @shtupidmate 4 года назад

      @@janeanderson7122 OBD2 was a regulation forced by the government on a state level (mainly California) so that their cars could all have a "common language" in reporting any problems the sensor detected on the car. Basically it was a little electric thing you plugged in when your check engine light turned on, and it would display codes - you'd then look up the code and find that problem. Also, car security was massively improved in 1996, but I can't remember off the top of my head if the OBD sensors had anything to do with that.

      +tavi921 it's all about torque. this engine wont make a lot of top end HP but it will deliver tons of power troughout the normal rev range. when you compare the power curve with another engine with higher top end HP (which is what everybody talks about but it dont mean nothing in real life) you will see that the big engine with low hp will have WAY more power (torque) in the useable range.
      there is no replacement for displacement. not even turbochargers.

    I love these old SS Impalas. If I bought one I would look into installing a 6 or 8 speed autobox on it though. 4 speeds won't make optimal use of the torque available though the V8 motor. My favorite one is the John Moss edition though GM never released it.
