      This wouldnt sell nowadays, so chevy wouldnt bother, people want pickup trucks and crossovers nowadays, but gm still caters to those people who cant get with the times and still makes sedans for them, albeit not very good ones, i think the malibu is the only one that remains and it resembles nothing it used to, and only has 4 cylinder and v6 as options

    In the '00s, Chevy had the SS. The Impala was a 6-cylinder family/business sedan, and the SS was an American version of GM's (AUS) Holden division. Minor asthetic differences between both Chevy/Holden. The primary reason it didn't sell was poor marketing on Chevy's part. The SS was/is as fast as the C7 Vette, but as a sedan.

      Yes! A 1965 Impala SS in Tahitian Turquoise! Two-door sedans were (and still are) the 'hot rod' way to go! Even though the '65 and '66 were very similar-looking (and beautiful!); those protruding taillights on the '65 still stir my soul! 1967 and 1968 Impalas are quite handsome, also.
      Side note: the rims on the '96 SS are killer, and would be a great way to tie the '65 SS to the '96 SS, or so I think.

    Had a ‘bright grey green” BGG 95 that I bought in 97, with 27K miles on it. My wife and I drove that gem until it had almost 230K on it, with realistic maintenance. 2 water pumps, 2 power steering pumps, plugs/wires, tires, brakes, and oil changes. That’s it. I gave it to a good friend, instead of selling it, for personal reasons, and when he took it to the dealership to check its condition, they asked if the steering components have been changed. He said “Nope”. I lubed it when I did the 4K mile oil changes. Kept it new, for 230K. Best car I’ve ever owned. Big, smooth, fast, and safe. Chevy could take a few lessons from this masterpiece……
    Lots of room for….. batteries….. Sorry guys. I don’t want that either….

  • @alekhidell7068
    @alekhidell7068 Год назад +1

    The chrome makes a lot of sense, actually, if you consider what Tim Allen (who still owns a ‘96) has said about it: if a limousine and a sports car had a child together, it would be a ‘94-‘96 Impala SS. The car was designed to be elegant, practical and enjoyable to drive.
    Second, it’s obvious that you have never actually driven a mint ‘94-‘96 Impala SS, and that you have precious little knowledge of the history of the industry. This is especially obvious by the manner in which you described the Impala SS’s performance and power output. First, remember that the vehicle is a full-size sedan; and that, at that time, 260 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque made for healthy output, especially in terms of torque. If you had ever driven a mint example of the vehicle, you would know just how enjoyable it is to drive. Remember, when it comes to power and torque, it’s not just about the maximums, but about the delivery throughout the curve. In the case of the ‘94-‘96 Impala SS, it delivers that output where it counts. Remember, the ‘94-96 Impala SS platform was a forerunner to the segment which has since expanded to include the likes of the Cadillac CTS-V. It was a visionary concept which, in execution, continues to inspire to this day. As a car enthusiast with a vast collection of classics, imports and domestics, and a wide range of experience with muscle cars and sports cars, I can assure you that the ‘94-‘96 Impala SS is powerful enough to put you back in your seat, and it’ll no doubt put a smile on your face and the faces of your passengers.
    To your credit, your design is beautiful and your comments about the 2000-2020 Impalas are absolutely correct: the 2000-2020 Impalas are not true Impalas, and there will probably never be another true Impala SS. This is why it is such a privilege to be a car collector, and why we must appreciate cars for what they are, what they accomplished in their time, and what they continue to inspire into the future.
    PS. I personally think that the original chrome wheels look way better (and more elegant) than the flimsy-looking Camaro wheels. I also believe that your modification to the greenhouse was completely unnecessary, featuring in this video, I suspect, only for the sake of added content. The modifications to the hood, the bumper, and the headlights were the most interesting. Overall, it’s a beautiful design. Thanks for the content. Cheers!
