To abolish the distinction between clean and unclean meats. 3. To remove all distinction between days, thus abolishing the seventh-day Sabbath, as you are well doing. What Paul is doing none of these three becomes evident when this chapter is studied in the light of certain religious and related problems that troubled some of the 1st-century Christians. The letter to the Corinthians was written less than a year before that to the Romans. It seems reasonable to conclude that in 1 Cor. 8 and Rom. 14 Paul is dealing with essentially the same problem. In Corinthians the problem is identified as the propriety of eating foods sacrificed to idols. In either case, this is not in reference to the Seventh Day Sabbath. God bless you my friend.

Love your story about words. Thank the Lord I'm saved and belong to him! My husband has not come to the Lord yet... but very time he says a bad word, I tell him Flowers, Sugar,etc. I replace his word with others. He is now catching himself when he says the bad word and apologizes.😊🙏

Not only the Sabbath day my friend but this was to be perform everyday (Num. 28:3,4). The Sabbath day given in the moral law did not required sacrifices and sacrifices were not performed when they kept it before given at Sinai (Ex. 16:23-30) Sacrifices, Levitical priesthood and the temple were done away with. Pastor Douglas keep preaching the Lord's Day- the Holy Sabbath. Sunday was never hallowed by God. Christians know that to be the truth, but deny it. I'm not a Seventh Day Adventist, but I read the Bible and find no where in the Scriptures that God who blessed it, changed as now taught by the Roman Cathlic Church and Evangelical Churches today. May God continue to bless your ministry and annoint you with the message of truth.
The ten commandments are the foundation to our faith, we have to have all of God's word to even obey God fully. The rest of the Bible is expounding upon each commandment on how to fulfil each one. Otherwise how would we know how to put God first and have no other god's before him? Or how would we know how to honor our father and mother. Without the whole Bible, we would be left to our own failing flesh to figure out and defining what it means to obey each commandment. It just makes sense. Thank you for all your wonderful wisdom filled teachings.
The question regarding "honor thy mother & father" hits home for me as it's bothered me for awhile. Shortly after I was saved, I prayed for God to show me the truth as I was digging in rabbit holes about the corruption of the world & the beast system. I didn't know He was going to show me that my parents have been living in infidelity for several years. I'm former military & was overseas when it all started but my dad mistreated us during my upbringing. It's known in the family that he worships money as his god even tho ironically he is a former pastor (who copied sermons from other pastors instead of doing his own) while I was a toddler. One night when I was visiting, apparently one of his mistresses (he had several) texted him after he had told my mom he would stop talking with them, she got mad and came upstairs to tell me. While she was coming upstairs, my dad took off out of fear of his former military son and how I might react. To this day, roughly 7 years later he still has not spoken to me. My guess is due to his shame. What's sad is I live no more than a half hour drive away. My first reaction was to help my mom setup appointments with divorce attorneys. I was going to support her through this. However, she delayed and made excuses for months until I finally pulled it out of her that she is not going to divorce him because they have too much money together that she believes is hers. When I pressed her on the issue, she ended up screaming at me "I'm not leaving everything I've worked for!". My parents are somewhat wealthy and always used money to control me up until I started refusing their money after all of this. My grandmother refuses to condemn her daughter and has been an avid church goer her entire life. Instead, they have both told me its my problem to deal with and I should seek therapists......? The sad part is for a few years I believed them. The really sad part is I tried to commit suicide TWICE while I was overseas in the military. I'm coming up on the 10 year anniversary of my 1st attempt that came after my own divorce to a wife that was not happy with my decision to be a Soldier. My family, not a single one of them, has ever asked me WHY I wanted to commit suicide or had a conversation with me about it. The ONE time I initiated it and setup the family meeting, my mom actually FELL ASLEEP while I was in the middle of my story. For all the parents out there, if your child tried to kill himself while he was stationed in another country just after his wife left him, wouldn't you want to know WHY? and maybe try to help? After all of this I turned my life over to Jesus and our Creator, Yahuah. I feel I was led to distance myself from my entire family and once I did that, my life became so great! I didn't have stress anymore, I have freedom to do what I want without fear of what my family will say/think, I found an amazing wife who will do anything for me, I couldn't ask for better income/housing situation. My life improved tremendously once I turned my life over to God & Jesus and it improved even more once my family was no longer in my life. Because of all this, the lasting effects are that my heart has been hardened in that I don't trust people so I prefer isolation. Plus with the way the brainwashed people have become in this beast system, its made me not enjoy being around people at all. I've told my family to stop communicating with me altogether because after several times of trying to reconcile, they refuse to stop living in sin. My dad still sleeps with other women while married to my mom and she's staying with him because she wants all the money for herself and does NOT want to split it due to the bitterness of his infidelity. My mom tries to use my grandmother for guilt, will send me gift cards or some form of money, as a substitute for being a mother. To the point that I was tired of being manipulated and cut them off completely. I worry alot about my sin and obeying God's commandments because I want to be counted worthy to receive our glorified bodies, escape the coming tribulation and be with Him for eternity. If you've read this far, I guess my question would be HOW DO YOU POSSIBLY HONOR THESE TYPES OF PARENTS? For me, what I've done is continue keeping them in my prayers that they would realize the error of their ways & repent of their sins before its too late. I've also sent them major life updates when they happen to me but I don't engage in trying to reestablish a relationship. My dad has still not spoken to me going on 7 years now. I also have sent them research in hopes that they would read it that shows them the truths about this world and all its corruption. My extended family have told me I'm insane. This is one reason why I need Jesus' blood covering me because my only hope & trust is in Him and what He did on the cross to save me. I honestly don't know what else to do. It's very difficult forgiving them especially when they have not asked for it. They simply want me to continue accepting their sinful lifestyle while my mom pretends to be saved. Before I cut them off, if the topic was brought up, they would tell me "its none of my business". Yet nobody in my family cares to know about my suicide attempts. I hope Yahuah accepts that I'm honoring them by giving the issue over to Him, praying continuously for them and showing them the truths of the world as I was shown. But I can't have a relationship with them as its nothing but controversy with no empathy.
You Honor them By Not disrespecting them / bad mouthing / etc etc And at the Same time .. Honoring Your parents Does Not mean staying in continuous contact and letting them bring you down, They are Adults and know Better and make their own choices. My mother and stepfather are evil to be honest and they hate the fact I am a Christian - We didn't talk to each for 17 years and then 6 months ago I got a message from a mutual friend asking Me to call them.. I really did not want to - But I did and all My mom had to say is ( are you still a Christian ) - I could hear my stepdad listening on the other phone.... I said Yes I am and She said - Oh - and then hung up. LoL - Still evil as ever, But it's their choice... My advice to You is - Move on with your life.. Like I did.

Thank you for sharing something so Personal. I just wanted to share that all of us are broken, and I can relate to a broken home setting where parents just didn't meet the normal standards a parent should make. Different situation though, but I relate to your pain. I really feel as though those experiences leave deep scars that only will fully heal when Jesus comes again. Not that he can't heal us now, but this world has so much pain connected to it. Trauma and sin leave big ugly scars on a soul. To me, What you are saying, you are honouring your father and mother. In the season of life you are in, and your journey with God atm, you are doing plenty to honour them. Honouring others looks different in each home and each circumstance. And if all you can do is pray for them, than do that! Be encouraged brother. God is tender hearted towards His children that have been through a lot. He knows you. And He will honour your prayers if they are sincere. I am glad you have had a turn around in your life. I hope one day to meet you in heaven bro. 🙂

Pray for your ministers. It is easy to knock them down but let us build them up by asking God to give them the tongues of fire, that sin is spoken again and not soothed to live in, that God our Father may turn us to Him from wickedness to holiness and speak with tongues of fire too! Towards the end Pastor Doug says about the ark of the covenant: "...the only thing in there was the ten commandments." I assume he meant that the only laws that were in there were the ten commandments. But of course, there were two other items in there: Aaron's rod and the container of manna.
SDA focuses on drawing a contrast between the 10 words written on stone vs the scrolls written by Moses. While I do agree there is something more permanent about the 10 words... SDA wants the other laws to be done away with. I say NO. The ony change was a change in priesthood (Heb 4+)
I had this dream last night. I believe that it is important that i share it with others. There will be some details that I will not disclose out of respect for my family, only they will know. I dreamed that I was with my siblings emptying out my mothers apartment. This is something that we actually did over 2 months ago in real life. But in the dream we were doing that now at this present time and the apartment was empty but I was trying to get all the liquids I could find because there was no more food nor fluids like I said in the present time which is now and that is coming. I saw myself in the streets and saw lots of people around, maybe hundreds. Then I saw lines of soldiers with rifles lining up. More and more were coming. Some people were very scared because there was no more food and others because of the that and the fact that they knew that the soldiers and government were going to harms us. They knew something really bad was coming and it was a scary time. I also I knew and felt like in my dream I knew what was coming, knew what others were thinking and feeling. I then looked at my brother and saw he was pale of shock since he also knew also. I saw that people couldn't separate themselves from their loved ones because they were not going to see them again. People were going crazy and no one was at their homes. Phones had no signal and a lot of people had their cells taken away from them. There was no way to reach a loved one. It felt like those you separated from you weren't going to see them again. I saw myself running to hide to try to see if I can get ahold of a loved one since I managed to hide my cell phone and was hoping to get a signal. I had to hide mine so no one would harm me to take it. No one couldn't leave the cities and it was too late. This was my dream. I believe time is ticking and it is time and was time we left the cities already. There was no food or fluids and people were going crazy. I did not see no killing but I knew and felt it was going to happen. I feel that it is not the time to separate yourselfs from your loved ones now and we need to stay close. Reach to those that need to hear this. Jesus is coming very soon. We may not know the time or hour but he is coming soon. I asked myself this morning why I dreamed this. Is not something I watch or heard although I can see it already. I just believe it's important and i needed to share it. Please seek God before it is too late. Jesus is waiting for us and he wants to save us but we need to seek God, his kingdom of heaven and repent. Jesus is the only way.
Yeah that is truly close to what is coming a man made food storage of biblical portions as quoted from the UN's director of food (not sure his official title) also agenda 2020 & 2030 martial law is just one cog in the machine of the new world order. The word "law" in hebrew simply means "instructions". Who's instructions? Gods instructions! If God is never wrong and does not change, and can never be done away with, then his very instructions cannot ever be wrong, changed, or done away with. Anyone even attempting to claim that Gods instructions are done away with, has no light in them. And God said "my commandment is a lamp, and my LAW a LIGHT". How can you have any light in you, if you have not Gods law in you? This is why in the parable of the 10 virgins, the 5 unwise virgins are rejected for not having any LIGHT from their lamps.

Another good reason to keep God's 10 commandment Law is because it is the foundation of his government and his seal. It defines those who are his disciples . Psalms 19:7 says the law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure making Wise the simple. Isaiah 8:16 says to seal the Law among my disciples. And second Timothy 2:19 says: The foundation of God stands sure ,having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Departing from iniquity means keeping the Commandments ,since the definition of sin is the transgression of God's law. First John 3:4. Other verses stress these points too : Ephesians 5:8 , 1st Thessalonians 5:5 James 1:7 and John 8:12 ( I am the light of this world) Matthew 5:14-19 ( you are the light).

I'm really hoping I can get a direct answer from Doug Batchelor about this. I'm a Seventh Day Believer and have been troubled about the validity about Ellen White being a true prophetess of God. She predicted that Jesus would come in her life time and also said that God told her the day and hour but that her lips had been sealed. Yet Doug posted a scripture saying that no one but God knew the day and the hour. The old testament states that if a prophet claims things that are false, then they are not of God. How can the Seventh Day Adventist Church still believe that Ellen White was a prophetess of God if she predicted things that weren't genuine?
In terms of Jesus coming in her day, she said that he could have come if the people were ready but they weren't so He never came. As for the day and hour, you're right nobody knows the day or hour when Christ comes. Ellen White stated that when she saw the vision of the last days, Christ proclaimed it in her vision but when she came out of it she couldn't remember the date God said

Not even Jesus knew the date but God told Ellen. It seems that if God told you the date of the end of the world, that you would remember it. Sorry, but Ellen White was a self serving narcissist and a fraud.

Not only the Sabbath day my friend but this was to be perform everyday (Num. 28:3,4). The Sabbath day given in the moral law did not required sacrifices and sacrifices were not performed when they kept it before given at Sinai (Ex. 16:23-30)
Sacrifices, Levitical priesthood and the temple were done away with.

Glory to God
The ten commandments are the foundation to our faith, we have to have all of God's word to even obey God fully. The rest of the Bible is expounding upon each commandment on how to fulfil each one. Otherwise how would we know how to put God first and have no other god's before him? Or how would we know how to honor our father and mother. Without the whole Bible, we would be left to our own failing flesh to figure out and defining what it means to obey each commandment. It just makes sense. Thank you for all your wonderful wisdom filled teachings.

The question regarding "honor thy mother & father" hits home for me as it's bothered me for awhile.
Shortly after I was saved, I prayed for God to show me the truth as I was digging in rabbit holes about the corruption of the world & the beast system. I didn't know He was going to show me that my parents have been living in infidelity for several years. I'm former military & was overseas when it all started but my dad mistreated us during my upbringing. It's known in the family that he worships money as his god even tho ironically he is a former pastor (who copied sermons from other pastors instead of doing his own) while I was a toddler.
One night when I was visiting, apparently one of his mistresses (he had several) texted him after he had told my mom he would stop talking with them, she got mad and came upstairs to tell me. While she was coming upstairs, my dad took off out of fear of his former military son and how I might react. To this day, roughly 7 years later he still has not spoken to me. My guess is due to his shame. What's sad is I live no more than a half hour drive away.
My first reaction was to help my mom setup appointments with divorce attorneys. I was going to support her through this. However, she delayed and made excuses for months until I finally pulled it out of her that she is not going to divorce him because they have too much money together that she believes is hers. When I pressed her on the issue, she ended up screaming at me "I'm not leaving everything I've worked for!". My parents are somewhat wealthy and always used money to control me up until I started refusing their money after all of this.
My grandmother refuses to condemn her daughter and has been an avid church goer her entire life. Instead, they have both told me its my problem to deal with and I should seek therapists......? The sad part is for a few years I believed them. The really sad part is I tried to commit suicide TWICE while I was overseas in the military.
I'm coming up on the 10 year anniversary of my 1st attempt that came after my own divorce to a wife that was not happy with my decision to be a Soldier. My family, not a single one of them, has ever asked me WHY I wanted to commit suicide or had a conversation with me about it. The ONE time I initiated it and setup the family meeting, my mom actually FELL ASLEEP while I was in the middle of my story. For all the parents out there, if your child tried to kill himself while he was stationed in another country just after his wife left him, wouldn't you want to know WHY? and maybe try to help?
After all of this I turned my life over to Jesus and our Creator, Yahuah. I feel I was led to distance myself from my entire family and once I did that, my life became so great! I didn't have stress anymore, I have freedom to do what I want without fear of what my family will say/think, I found an amazing wife who will do anything for me, I couldn't ask for better income/housing situation. My life improved tremendously once I turned my life over to God & Jesus and it improved even more once my family was no longer in my life.
Because of all this, the lasting effects are that my heart has been hardened in that I don't trust people so I prefer isolation. Plus with the way the brainwashed people have become in this beast system, its made me not enjoy being around people at all. I've told my family to stop communicating with me altogether because after several times of trying to reconcile, they refuse to stop living in sin. My dad still sleeps with other women while married to my mom and she's staying with him because she wants all the money for herself and does NOT want to split it due to the bitterness of his infidelity.
My mom tries to use my grandmother for guilt, will send me gift cards or some form of money, as a substitute for being a mother. To the point that I was tired of being manipulated and cut them off completely.
I worry alot about my sin and obeying God's commandments because I want to be counted worthy to receive our glorified bodies, escape the coming tribulation and be with Him for eternity. If you've read this far, I guess my question would be HOW DO YOU POSSIBLY HONOR THESE TYPES OF PARENTS?
For me, what I've done is continue keeping them in my prayers that they would realize the error of their ways & repent of their sins before its too late. I've also sent them major life updates when they happen to me but I don't engage in trying to reestablish a relationship. My dad has still not spoken to me going on 7 years now. I also have sent them research in hopes that they would read it that shows them the truths about this world and all its corruption. My extended family have told me I'm insane.
This is one reason why I need Jesus' blood covering me because my only hope & trust is in Him and what He did on the cross to save me. I honestly don't know what else to do. It's very difficult forgiving them especially when they have not asked for it. They simply want me to continue accepting their sinful lifestyle while my mom pretends to be saved. Before I cut them off, if the topic was brought up, they would tell me "its none of my business". Yet nobody in my family cares to know about my suicide attempts.
I hope Yahuah accepts that I'm honoring them by giving the issue over to Him, praying continuously for them and showing them the truths of the world as I was shown. But I can't have a relationship with them as its nothing but controversy with no empathy.
You Honor them By Not disrespecting them / bad mouthing / etc etc
And at the Same time .. Honoring Your parents Does Not mean staying in continuous contact and letting them bring you down, They are Adults and know Better and make their own choices.
My mother and stepfather are evil to be honest and they hate the fact I am a Christian - We didn't talk to each for 17 years and then 6 months ago I got a message from a mutual friend asking Me to call them..
I really did not want to - But I did and all My mom had to say is ( are you still a Christian ) - I could hear my stepdad listening on the other phone.... I said Yes I am and She said - Oh - and then hung up.
LoL - Still evil as ever, But it's their choice... My advice to You is - Move on with your life.. Like I did.
May JESUS HOLD you close to HIS HEART and SAVE you by HIS GRACE.
According to DEUTERONOMY 32 verse 2 God will pour doctrine upon u like rain and it will be a blessing to understand the true spiritual thi gs of the most high,

I just wanted to share that all of us are broken, and I can relate to a broken home setting where parents just didn't meet the normal standards a parent should make. Different situation though, but I relate to your pain.
I really feel as though those experiences leave deep scars that only will fully heal when Jesus comes again. Not that he can't heal us now, but this world has so much pain connected to it. Trauma and sin leave big ugly scars on a soul.
To me, What you are saying, you are honouring your father and mother. In the season of life you are in, and your journey with God atm, you are doing plenty to honour them. Honouring others looks different in each home and each circumstance. And if all you can do is pray for them, than do that! Be encouraged brother. God is tender hearted towards His children that have been through a lot. He knows you. And He will honour your prayers if they are sincere.

Towards the end Pastor Doug says about the ark of the covenant: "...the only thing in there was the ten commandments."
I assume he meant that the only laws that were in there were the ten commandments. But of course, there were two other items in there: Aaron's rod and the container of manna.

SDA focuses on drawing a contrast between the 10 words written on stone vs the scrolls written by Moses.
While I do agree there is something more permanent about the 10 words... SDA wants the other laws to be done away with. I say NO. The ony change was a change in priesthood (Heb 4+)
I had this dream last night. I believe that it is important that i share it with others. There will be some details that I will not disclose out of respect for my family, only they will know. I dreamed that I was with my siblings emptying out my mothers apartment. This is something that we actually did over 2 months ago in real life. But in the dream we were doing that now at this present time and the apartment was empty but I was trying to get all the liquids I could find because there was no more food nor fluids like I said in the present time which is now and that is coming. I saw myself in the streets and saw lots of people around, maybe hundreds. Then I saw lines of soldiers with rifles lining up. More and more were coming. Some people were very scared because there was no more food and others because of the that and the fact that they knew that the soldiers and government were going to harms us. They knew something really bad was coming and it was a scary time. I also I knew and felt like in my dream I knew what was coming, knew what others were thinking and feeling. I then looked at my brother and saw he was pale of shock since he also knew also. I saw that people couldn't separate themselves from their loved ones because they were not going to see them again. People were going crazy and no one was at their homes. Phones had no signal and a lot of people had their cells taken away from them. There was no way to reach a loved one. It felt like those you separated from you weren't going to see them again. I saw myself running to hide to try to see if I can get ahold of a loved one since I managed to hide my cell phone and was hoping to get a signal. I had to hide mine so no one would harm me to take it. No one couldn't leave the cities and it was too late. This was my dream. I believe time is ticking and it is time and was time we left the cities already. There was no food or fluids and people were going crazy. I did not see no killing but I knew and felt it was going to happen. I feel that it is not the time to separate yourselfs from your loved ones now and we need to stay close. Reach to those that need to hear this. Jesus is coming very soon. We may not know the time or hour but he is coming soon. I asked myself this morning why I dreamed this. Is not something I watch or heard although I can see it already. I just believe it's important and i needed to share it. Please seek God before it is too late. Jesus is waiting for us and he wants to save us but we need to seek God, his kingdom of heaven and repent. Jesus is the only way.

The word "law" in hebrew simply means "instructions". Who's instructions? Gods instructions! If God is never wrong and does not change, and can never be done away with, then his very instructions cannot ever be wrong, changed, or done away with.
Anyone even attempting to claim that Gods instructions are done away with, has no light in them.
And God said "my commandment is a lamp, and my LAW a LIGHT".

Another good reason to keep God's 10 commandment Law is because it is the foundation of his government and his seal. It defines those who are his disciples . Psalms 19:7 says the law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure making Wise the simple. Isaiah 8:16 says to seal the Law among my disciples. And second Timothy 2:19 says: The foundation of God stands sure ,having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Departing from iniquity means keeping the Commandments ,since the definition of sin is the transgression of God's law. First John 3:4. Other verses stress these points too : Ephesians 5:8 , 1st Thessalonians 5:5 James 1:7 and John 8:12 ( I am the light of this world) Matthew 5:14-19 ( you are the light).

I'm really hoping I can get a direct answer from Doug Batchelor about
this. I'm a Seventh Day Believer and have been troubled about the
validity about Ellen White being a true prophetess of God. She
predicted that Jesus would come in her life time and also said that God
told her the day and hour but that her lips had been sealed. Yet Doug
posted a scripture saying that no one but God knew the day and the hour.
The old testament states that if a prophet claims things that are
false, then they are not of God. How can the Seventh Day Adventist
Church still believe that Ellen White was a prophetess of God if she
predicted things that weren't genuine?

In terms of Jesus coming in her day, she said that he could have come if the people were ready but they weren't so He never came. As for the day and hour, you're right nobody knows the day or hour when Christ comes. Ellen White stated that when she saw the vision of the last days, Christ proclaimed it in her vision but when she came out of it she couldn't remember the date God said

Not even Jesus knew the date but God told Ellen. It seems that if God told you the date of the end of the world, that you would remember it.
