Local 7 over here. Did rods for a few days. It's alright, but just not really my favorite thing. Have done 2 days of structural and so far I love every minute of it. Moving the big iron is for me. It takes a bit of time to get used to walking up high on the beams but once you get used to it, it's fun as hell. Can't wait to go back to work on Monday.
makattak88 I want to get into this trade? Is the union the only way to go? Do I need to take an aptitude test. I took one for the elevator union and failed miserably. I studied for 2 months also and bought all this stuff I just suck at test. I always had a interest in iron work. Could you fill me in.
Not only huge respect to these workers but also to Rick for having the courage to go to those roof tops side by side with those workers, I wouldn't go there LOL when he looked down at 1:26 I was like "hell nah" 😂
IW's are legit I loved this one and can relate to lots of it down to the backwards hardhat. ->Boilermaker I'd love Rick to come out and do something with us.
Satire is fucking funny. Buck hoist is my jam. Structural is fun. But the oil tank lids was on point. Cool video reaction. Keep you thoughts abundant. Stay safe
Sylvestre Gonzalez dude named Jeremy came from that local to some work here in Alabama and told me they like to work themselves out of a job as opposed to new York. Seemed like a legit guy
@@user-gg5td1dk2w yeah it's just ALOT of people misconstrue the union. They assume you make top wages automatically. When in reality it's not like that at all. After a 4 year degree with most unions you journey out. Therefore making max wages until wages are re discussed and reconstructed as a union
"probably a pipe fitter" give this man a tv show

As someone who hates heights this whole video made me anxious
If Jann Arden was at this, the whole show would be bleeped out.
Skyler is awesome!
That pipe fitter joke was great
I wanna be an iron worker for purely ironic reasons.
Ironworking is awesome when its not cold out!
I did it for 10 years. North Dakota power plants, hospitals etc until a pallet of bricks fell from 4 stories. That was the end of my Ironworking days.
So it literally hit you like a ton of bricks?
did u die
loved the jab to pipefitters
Love the dude at 2:55, that guy knows how to rib his fellow workers

You know those guys are probably all making between 25-45 and hour.
They're defiantly getting more than $25 an hour lol, its all unionized, they're likely making $35 hr at the minimum.

Don't knock pipefitters. We're better welders than Ironworks.
Pipefitters are better welders, another pipe dreamer.
Pipefitters dont weld, if it doesnt thread they hire a welder.
