This album proved that kendrick was far away from selling out to the mainstream by making mainstream hits and all that and proves that he stayed true to himself the moment he entered the rap game. Absolutely love this album 10/10
@Trip Tfout a big part of the artistic ness of the album is the contradictory nature of it. Quit preaching your shit and shoving it down everyone’s throat and let them believe what they want to. You’re part of the reason millions hate Christians.
this video actually changed my music taste. it bought me to hip hop, it made me start listening to kanye and kendrick, which then became more and more artists until today where i have a variety of music to listen to
One of my favorite things about Kendrick’s new album is how he humanized himself. He discussed his faults and shortcomings but he spoke bluntly and emotionally about himself and gave a look inside the pressure he deals with. For me, him and J. Cole are the goats of our time
I think Kendrick Lamar is one of the best and most important artists of this generation. Not rapper, artist in general. He speaks on relavent issues with nuance and complexity. Something rare in art right now.
I'm a trans guy and when I first heard Auntie Diaries I fuckin cried dude. That song is just laced, every word, with love and appreciation for the people it's about. And cis people just don't talk about trans people in their art very much, so to hear Dot talk about these people in his life with such love and appreciation, while also confronting and condemning is own actions that hurt those people... it meant a lot to hear. And the way he juxtaposes assumed gender with actual gender in accordance with the time he's talkin about is actually really cool, and something I wish more people would do in their art about trans identity.
Kendrick's first 3 albums definitely had themes. Section.80 was more of a book with track titles like chapter 6 and chapter 10 hinting at that, GKMC was dubbed a short film, TPAB was spoken word poetry, and this new album is definitely therapy. Getting insight that feels too personal and feels like we shouldn't be hearing this. I still don't know what Damn could be, but this album is laying it out pretty clearly and it's obvious that this album matters and will change lives.
To me, DAMN was a meditation on a bunch of big problems and concepts. Fear, god, DNA, love and of course YAH. And as Kendrick thinks about these concepts he becomes more and more wicked until he “grows up without a father and dies in a gunfight”. Unless you play it backwards, where Kendrick gets weaker and weaker until he falls for a trick and “you have lost… your life”. That’s my interpretation on it, take from it what you want, and come up with your own interpretation. I hope this helps you tho
‘Damn’ was more of a Revelation of his life at that point in time… in terms of his spiritual belief (FEAR), success (GOD), relationship with Witney at that point (LOVE) and amazing story (DUCKWORTH).

I am a 23 year old man from South Sudan, I have spent most of my life in a continuous war, it was a normal day 2 weeks ago as I was fighting. Then, the Sudanese fighters played this absolute masterpiece, we then began to all put down our guns and dance to this lyrical masterpiece. Thank you, sir. For Peace this song changed my life. My entire view of everything that exists in this world, in fact, even in the entire universe. I can never look at anything I know the same way again. This song represents emotions that most humans could never understand. But I can. Thanks to this song I was awakened to many things previously considered unimaginable. Thank you for this exquisite song. This video is an exquisite masterpiece, out of every single video I have ever even heard of on the entire platform, this by far has enlightened me to do fly, lose 90 pounds and even become the president of the United States, and I'm going to tell you why this is such a masterpiece as if hearing the creators, no, god of this universes luscious voice. I would like to express my thanks to you. My gratitude for your indisputably magnificent assistance is almost infinite. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I really like your contribution that you have in our society, you really make a difference and help others out, the world could always use more people like you. Gosh, what a polite and humble fellow. It is such a kind honour for someone as low as me to be in contact with someone of a level such as yours. I thank you once again my good friend. A world without you, would be a world I would not be able to live in, and I believe I share that opinion with most people. I can rest easy tonight knowing you helped. I appreciate you and everything you stand for and on behalf of everyone on planet earth, thanks. Yes I 100% agree no lie I am 10/10 with you in this statement no question. You are completely absolutely correct and have made no mistake in your sentence whatsoever and I applaud you for that as you have made a thoughtful statement that many agree with and those that disagree are in the minority because your statement has absolutely no faults and thus is completely without a question correct and deserves nothing but agreement. and by the way, super saiyan blue theme is a very powerful, moving song that showcased the capabilities of human emotion. It used groundbreaking technology to create stunning sounds that would mesmerize the listeners. This song is suitable for all ages; whether you're 5 years old, or 50, you should listen to this song. It is inspiring and it showcases the spectrum of human nature and how humans communicate with each other. This song revolutionized the music industry and set the bar high for other songs. In the future historians will look back on this song and regard it as the pinnacle of human achievement. It was a roller-coaster from start to finish, the nail-biting song will leave you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Listeners will find themselves absorbed by the heartwarming tale of a relentless, determined african tribes who didn't let societies standards shape his/her/it's life. I was shocked by how intense and gripping this song was. The plot is rich, unpredictable and touching. This isn't your typical african war song, this song is a war with one's emotions. Tales of africa is a stirring masterpiece that only comes once in a millennium. This thrilling instruments makes it a jaw-dropping performance that properly utilizes the medium. I rate this song 10 african tribes/10 african tribes, and will never listen to it again as every time I get saddened by the the fact that there will never be a song to match this masterpiece.
@Trip Tfout I would have to disagree with the statement “it isn’t that deep.” I think his slow departure from religious teachings is what makes it deep. The more he lives the more life challenges the ideas he was taught were entirely unquestionable. The more scrutiny they face, the more they begin to crumble. The giving up of his believes which gave his life purpose in order to more wholly accept and love his fellow brothers, sisters, cousins, and uncles is pretty deep.
@@mopplop4525 I thank you for your take on it, it was very hard for me to find the right words, and I’d like to add that it was a summarization of what lessons he learned about life and the lessons he learned about himself. It was a look on life that included everything including him, and I appreciate Him for it
I wasn’t really into rap but after current events I’ve been listening to Kendrick constantly and each time I get goosebumps at his lyrical talent I can’t believe that’s all him
Me too, and I hope they look into some of his albums. I’m glad people are discovering Kendrick after he destroyed Drake, but he’s so much more than “the rapper who destroyed Drake’s career.” His lyricism and storytelling is absolutely amazing, and the diss tracks represent only a portion of his mastery. He was the GOAT before the beef, and he’s still the GOAT after.
Pls do this kind of video on Tyler's discography. It would be very interesting as he has a few misses but his redemption arc is greater than any artist I've ever seen.

To pimp a butterfly is my fav album too. Genius production, storytelling, and themes. Also love how u can here any song by itself, even without the beautifully woven narrative 🔥
Lol I remember I use to always argue with my old high school friend about how TPAB is better than GKMC. It's probably because GKMC is preferable for people who like hard hitting songs while TPAB is for chill mellow people who like to analyze and think more deeply than the surface level lyrics. Both are good albums in there own ways.

The giving up of his believes which gave his life purpose in order to more wholly accept and love his fellow brothers, sisters, cousins, and uncles is pretty deep.
carti better tho he die lit
@@mopplop4525 I thank you for your take on it, it was very hard for me to find the right words, and I’d like to add that it was a summarization of what lessons he learned about life and the lessons he learned about himself. It was a look on life that included everything including him, and I appreciate Him for it
this aged SO WELL.
P.S. 🗣 "TRAVIS" and the end KILLED me lmao
I wasn’t really into rap but after current events I’ve been listening to Kendrick constantly and each time I get goosebumps at his lyrical talent I can’t believe that’s all him
The fact that the drake j Cole and Kendrick thing just got so real!!

I hope people come here after drake getting bodied by Kendrick
Me too, and I hope they look into some of his albums. I’m glad people are discovering Kendrick after he destroyed Drake, but he’s so much more than “the rapper who destroyed Drake’s career.” His lyricism and storytelling is absolutely amazing, and the diss tracks represent only a portion of his mastery. He was the GOAT before the beef, and he’s still the GOAT after.
Been a Kendrick fan for a few days and i can officially say I LOVE KENDRICK

Pls do this kind of video on Tyler's discography. It would be very interesting as he has a few misses but his redemption arc is greater than any artist I've ever seen.
Mr Morale is the album that's more personal to me
And DAMN is just the most fun... It's just the way you can listen to it forwards and backwards
And TPAB IS SO FUCKING SURREAL the album I most respect
GKMC is the album I most love!
And Section.80 is the album I'm most grateful for.
Every Kendrick album is my favorite Kendrick's album

@Ryan Wills Nah bro I agree with you people need to listen to actual music not this kendrick/kanye/travis/drake crap
Agreed
@Ryan Wills then go back to where you belong
GNX still proves kendrick's consistency
To pimp a butterfly is my fav album too. Genius production, storytelling, and themes. Also love how u can here any song by itself, even without the beautifully woven narrative 🔥
Lol I remember I use to always argue with my old high school friend about how TPAB is better than GKMC. It's probably because GKMC is preferable for people who like hard hitting songs while TPAB is for chill mellow people who like to analyze and think more deeply than the surface level lyrics. Both are good albums in there own ways.
@@droneactivities agreed. GKMC and TPAB are no doubt kendricks 2 best albums. Ur fav album out of the 2 says more about u than about the album. To each their own 🙌
*Mans speaks straight fax with only Hood Classics just like Kendrick.* 10/10 album and 10/10 video on it. I have never been happier to watch this over and over again. He’s my GOAT and I’m not ashamed to say it

Started listening to Kendrick's discography after all the drama. Once I listened to TPABF, I was enlightened. I ended up watching this 3 hour long video explaining pretty much ever line to the album and made me appreciate how much effort he puts in his craft. Definitely one of my favorite artists right now.
