- The Best NYMPH Patterns for trout fishing! I have used a lot of nymphs but these patterns always have a place in my box. If you are fly fishing for trout and want to be super effective? Then nymphing is the technique for you. These nymphs are my top 9 favourite nymphs and they flat out just work. Hope you will try a few of these and wish you the best of luck with your nymphing!

All great flies, but I'd include the tj hooker. Although, its pretty similar to the pats rubberlegs.

Great list boss. I would add bead head hare's ear too. Walt's worms I tied up best I could with hotspot-kills it every time on rainbows, cutties and whitefish. Keep them coming.
Thanks man. I was going to but i do better with the Waltz’s Worms and they are so similar. At least that was my reasoning. I do like a Guides Choice Hares ear from time to time. Appreciate the comment

Good video…what size silver wire on the copper john? Brassie or Medium?
This is semperfly 0.2mm in silver. If you go smaller(like 16 and smaller) use 0.1mm

What a great selection of nymphs minus the egg, lol. A well presented dry fly/nymph/leech/streamer of virtually any type for salmonids should be banned. Warm water just the same. A few days ago, I was tooling around the community stockie pond chuck full of bait/gear/spin folks eager to catch a fish. Besides myself and another fly fisher, we were the only two that were consistently catching fish. Go figure!
