They all sound lovely. That being said, I own a '59 reissue 335, a 336 and a 356. As much as I enjoy my 335 I usually prefer the smaller 336 and 356 for comfort reasons, mostly.

The ES 339 is constructed the same way as the ES 335, almost like a maple wooden sandwich, the CS 336 is a made by a solid piece of mahogany that’s routed out and topped with a maple top!

Thanks for this. I own a CS336 and a big LC fan, surprised how it stands up against 335. I would say that a CS336 is closer to a Les Paul but it's a great guitar and very versatile. I've used it on a lot f sessions.
My personal taste would be the 336 for this type of song. It seems to let the strings ring with a little more clarity and sustain. Plus, it looks like it has a bit beefier neck as well.
The USA 335 sounds most like how I want a hollow body to sound. The custom reissue is probably even more impressive, but has lower output, so needed a bit more oomph to stand next to the regular one in this comparison. The 339 is bit less “hollow” 😅
I like the regular Gibson USA ES-335 but I don't mind the ES - 339. the 336 was seemingly too bright for me an I don't hear the 1961 being better just because it's more expensive. It wasn't my favourite. I prefer the regular Gibbie 335's & Sheraton Epiphones.

Custom Es-335 sounded the cleanest in tone for me personally but the 336 sounds the warmest like i put a record on for the family back in the 70s

I lucked out big time about 12 years ago picking up a Cs 336 for $2000 CAD . Such an amazing guitar

So I like the GibbyUSA 335. Why, because it was my favorite choice of the solo. So sweet. All sounded great though
