Red inks are always my "must have" when attainable.... Gunnar over Holliday.... Jackson Merrill is intriguing ~Churio has the Acuna "it" thing going on... the innate talent is right there. Super vid fella's ~Great looking monster Red Jeff... Hacksaw Churio.
Red Inks are cool and have the lineage but they're are nicer rookie autos out there. As a collector, I want a card of my favorite player that's worth something and that's appealing as well. Good video guys
Great discussion fellas! Leave Heritage alone, it’s perfectly fine the way it is! We don’t need Topps tweaking the next release like Stadium Club or A&G. Getting a bigger hit out Heritage is half the fun because they’re so hard to find.
"Thinking long term, 100 years in the future" is how I rationalize all of my worst decisions. I'll be long rotted in the ground by then and all the money I've burned on cards will matter not.
I think if you win MVP all your cards in next year releases should have an MVP logo on them similar to rookie card logos. Create some distinction and rarity for non rookie year cards.
Don’t forget that the Heritage case will have one hobby “hotbox”. I’ve been buying 2022 hobby boxes lately and don’t expect to get a hotbox unless you buy a sealed case.
Love the discussion guys. I just wish you guys would go at each other a little more LOL. By the way, I think that other Jackson (as in Merrill) is the best one, although he technically does not have a Bowman 1st Auto. For me, Heritage Real One autos are my favorite to PC. For the big time guys, the Reds are too expensive and there is just so many different Chrome Autos, but I would agree that the Reds are not number 1 in the hobby. I would live to see you guys split a case of the 22 Heritage and do a Box Break live and come up with something for the winner. Just a thought. Until next time.....
Thanks for using my question! (even though you guys didn’t agree) I just really think a chrome heritage card on card auto not serial numbered but short printed to around 10 would be a cool card to own for some of my favorite players
Chourio may not be on a team that has the same collectibility, but he will be the face of the franchise whereas the Orioles have a bunch of young 'guys'.
I love the red auto Heritage. That was my comment to your IG. I couldn’t fit the whole take with limited characters. I do think the Red Inks are underrated mainly due to the fact of what you mentioned earlier with how many variations you get in other sets. So the red inks is really the only variation on that auto. And because it’s stayed lower and cheap with such print runs, it’s a great one to go for the right price. I don’t think it takes over Chrome auto lower prints, 1st chrome auto, ets… Also for difficulty of grading those heritage cards I think getting 10 red inks are solid.
Good stuff as always! Phil, have you come around on Chourio's looks? You seem to have! I may be in the minority on this...but I just don't like the red inks. The color...gives me PTSD back to me having a bad day on a math quiz in fourth grade.
What is 2023 chrome update the first set they did the debut patches in and if so, how much are these being traded? Are they ghosts? I mean I know they’re one of ones but have you seen any sell back-and-forth to anyone?
I'm the person that said the red ink will be the most sought after. I was specifically talking about rookie autos not rpa's or bowman 1sts which will always be the 1st. Chris made my excact point. In ten years red ink will be at 85 while thousands of topps chrome autos will be produced. how many topps chrome gold autos were produced this year alone? how many topps chrome products are produced now? its impossible to keep up with them all. Love the discussion guys. Thank you
Heritage as you'll know is a set builders dream, one of the only sets left where u can put a set together. That part of the hobby has been disappearing for years.
I’ve had immense fun putting together regular flagship tops this year and chrome although little pricier, but I do agree heritage is a good set building
Opened a 2023 heritage case on my channel with a couple buddies. Was a fun rip. Obviously a lot of junk but we pulled some nice image variations and some decent stuff. Looks like there is more upside for that than there is for most other products 😂 … or at least a higher floor
It took me months (perhaps over a year?) to realize Chris’s wall included multiple framed Pulp Fiction photos and a Fight Club… and now I want to pay for a plane ticket to LA, treat you to lunch, and befriend you.
Merrill, Chourio and even Langford are much better than Holliday. In 7 years when all these guys are Free Agents, Holliday at best is .300 Hitter with 15-25 HRs per season with higher OBP. I hope Jeff gets several Red Ink Heritage Real One Autographs of Jackson Chourio and send the nicer ones to PSA. 🤓⚾️
Since autographs fade, why don't the grading companies offer UV resistant protection? Why does the hobby use PSA the most when they block the least amount of UV at about 13%? BGS blocks out over 50% and a one touch case has UV protection
@Philmington I haven't seen testing results for TAG, but they claim UV resistance and archival quality. CGC tested slightly better than PSA from the test I saw
I would love to add the Fun Face card as well at some point but those cards are still way overpriced given his performance. Last PSA 10 just sold for over $600, no thank you.
YES! Iwas so sad Topps cut Heritage Minor League.... I got so many great cards from those boxes. And we could get the boxes for about $45 each Out of 2019 Im pulled a SSP image variant of Wander FRanco..... if only I'd sold it be3for he tanked. Oh well. Now blaster boxes cost the same as a Heritage Minore hobby. Yes, you gous should all go in on a case of 22 Heritage HIgh and rip it live... for $165 each....low risk.... see what you get. Divide or sell the hits.
It's way too early to call Holliday a bust when he's 20 years old and only played 60 games. I don't know if it's a good investment buying his auto cards even if they crashed. His bowman chrome auto blue psa 9 sold for $1700 compared to Seager's blue bowman chrome auto bgs 9.5 for $800. You're paying the MVP prices for top prospects, which doesn't make any sense to me. I prefer Chourio over Holliday; since the prices of cards are so high, i bought his game used mudcats jersey and im looking to get a game used home jersey
Holliday minors career OBP .443. / OPS .928. Chourio .347 / .837 I’d invest in Holliday, long term. That OBP is a key element to success when you look back at former prospects and who are great and what similarities you can draw from.
best sports card content on the net, keep up the awesome work
Thanks!
Chris killing it with the Baez bat relic comment, priceless!:)
what a brutal pull

Chris here - Im excited to see what Chourio can do and I'm glad he's staying in milwaukee for at least a decent chunk of time.

@@MG-FS_Sports_Cards Good point - the best cards are needles in what feels like a infinite hyastack.

😂 Truth!
Absolutely loved this episode/convo. Heritage is my main rip
Heritage rising gradually to the top with a couple others to be sure... agreed!!

I have and pulled the red ink 22' Bobby Witt Jr. I love them! 😂
I don't think they need a chrome auto but I wouldn't mind maybe 2 chromes per hobby box..
WHOA!!!!

To be fair, Jackson's father didn't become a Big Leaguer until age 24. He needs more time. He probably got called up too early if you ask me.
Looking at the thumbnail picture. I actually pulled 3 heritage base and 1 red ink Bobby rookie autos. Heritage is my absolute favorite product
Holy cow that’s awesome! 😮

Who cares? Literally the only difference is ink color.
This Witt or:
Jackson Merrill ‘24 Guilded or Sapphire RC Auto. Both Merrill - and Skenes as well - will have monster seasons in years to come…

4:02 hit em with the uno reverse 😂😅
Are orange refractors /25 typically less than gold.
Will Chourio prices dip offseason?
Maybe not but probably in April

Who y’all taking to put money into before the season given current day price points, Merrill, Chourio, Holliday, or Langford?
For me Skenes… then Chourio
@ Interesting! Going against conventional wisdom picking a pitcher? Gives me DeGrom or Mark Prior vibes!
Is Chris OK? I think a wellness check is in order. He's not wearing a Braves jersey.
Gotta give Chris a few extra hours to wake up, poor dude looks like he's struggling
