I spent two weeks in Banf. The most beautiful place in the world. Stayed at the Banf Springs hotel. Was there for a geologic conference and presented a paper. I am a geologist.

Emerald Lake is also amazing in our warmer seasons too, the lake is a deep dark green colour that lives up to its name. Love this video.
I am Canadian born and though I left many years ago I still remember the sound of snow underfoot, about the only thing I liked, too cold for me but so appreciate you bringing the beauty to me without having to freeze my toes and fingers. How I used to hate it when feeling came back. ❤

So beautiful! The camps and everything are closed as the cost of snow removal, road maintenance is incredible. During snow storms the roads are treacherous. We get told to stay home and off the roads. It saves lives. The main road back down from the Rockies to Vancouver is called the highway to hell. That cold is dangerous. There is a tv show called highway to hell it's about recovery tow trucks rescuing trucks and drivers and getting roads reopened. Glad you had a safe trip.
Banff is a town, 8421 permanent residents and 965 non-permanent. The mountain range through Emerald Lake/Lake Louise/Banff is all part of the Canadian Rockies. I have been to Banff in the summer and winter. I’m not a fan of the winter but prefer Banff in the winter as it is not as busy, plus you can do unique stuff, I.e., dog sledding, horse carriage rides, etc.
I giggled over your amazement of walking on the lake. Living in Saskatchewan this is so normal in the winter, never thought how unique it is for someone who does not live where it gets crazy cold like it does here.

I worry that you'll lock yourself out of the camper. I wouldn't even look out the van without full leggings, coat, balaclava, beanie, gloves etc. The amount of times you instinctively say, " oh man its cold" makes me laugh and not want to ever go to Canada in the winter. I'm not a proper Scotsman as I hate the cold. But thats proper cold where you are. Brrrh.
I’ve watched both part 1 and part 2 from start to finish and I’ve loved every second of them. These videos are amazing and I feel as though I'm right there in Canada with Tony. Loved It when Tony walked the lake and when he was smoking his cigar by the camp fire. I love the smell of cigars! Thoroughly enjoying these videos especially these longer ones. I love the cold weather and snow but that minus 18 weather is frigid! Those mountains are gorgeous!
My dad used to smoke cigars and a pipe some of them smells good

I love your videos I'm totally hooked. I watch every night before sleep for mental wind down. The calmness and beautiful scenery and of course the adventures of Bruce are so relaxing and informative. I love how you demonstrate for all comers how getting out in nature can be as basic or as comfortable as you like, mod.cons don't have to be left behind unless you want to. Also love the range of kit you share. Keep doing what you do.

Tony, I’m in the midst of this beautiful post…the scenery is just awe inspiring! Those glaciers on the mountains are stunning! I loved Emerald Lake! So pleased that you walked across… that was epic! My Mom’s parents traveled a great deal. My Gram always said that Banff and Louise were the prettiest areas she had ever seen! I’d love to see the area in the summer. Oh, they traveled to Cuba in the 50’s and went to a cigar rolling facility. My granddaddy really enjoyed that. Ok, on to Mount Robson now. This is so entertaining , Tony! More later…🥳🤗 Harriet

Tony, our television is on constantly as our dog, Roo, absolutely loves watching your videos, especially with Bruno and Bruce. We're into camping too (on a smaller scale in the UK) and Roo has loved it since he was a puppy. He now knows "Roo, where's Tony and Bruce/ bruno?" and he jumps straight on the sofa to watch you on our TV.
We love sitting down on an evening and having you on our screen. My partner loves seeing all your gadgets and how minimal your equipment can be.
For me, I admire the places you visit, seeing the scenery and nature, it's like we're there with you!
We discovered your channel a couple of months ago and we've watched AND re watched every episode you've shared!

Hi Toni I'm glad you enjoyed our beautiful country, at least BC that is. The mountains are Crown land so if you see a spot you can camp in that spot in the mountains for up to 21 days I do believe. The Rockies are beautiful that's for sure ✌My nephew lives in BC I will be going to his wedding in August. He takes me up the mountains to beautiful quiet places that tourists do not know about, a piece of heaven 💖
