The tempo and the music are all so perfect!! ~ It's a song I played a long time ago, so I listen to it well while reminiscing about old memories. I only listen to it all the time and it's my first time commenting. I'm always listening carefully. ^^ Thank you for the good music.🥰
Amazing playing as always, your interpretation reminds me of Richter quite a lot! Also, do you have any tips for the prelude? Even though I managed to crack the fugue in 5 days more or less, the prelude is giving me a lot of trouble, especially when playing fast.
Thank you! Actually Richter is my favorite interpreter for the WTC. Although I also appreciate other pianists like Pollini and Demus, I have a profound admiration for Richter's choices and I think his recording is overall the best! I perfectly get what you mean, the fugue isn't particular challenging, at least compared to the other fugues, but this prelude is a though one. In order to get better and become able to raise the speed, you have to think about your hand position as much as you do about your fingers. In other words, always think to keep your hand in a position that is the most comfortable possibile for the finger which is playing in that specific moment. In the video it can look like I don't move the hand much at all, but actually I'm always making a lot of small adjustments in order to be comfortable even in the less comfortable positions. It's also very useful not to articulate too much, expecially the weak fingers, and play with your wrist rotation instead in all those tricky passages. Good luck! Even if this prelude isn't simple, it's so worth it and very satisfying to play once you've got the hang of it 😄
