    Very interesting tutorial. If I may suggest a fastest way to delete inside of the small shapes in only few clicks: when you have the large square with the shapes ungrouped inside just double click the free space inside the large square to highlight the surface and the adjusting lines (so the outlines of the small shapes included) and then inverse selection with shift and press delete once the inside spaces of the small shapes are highlighted. And you are done:)

    Good video, but unfortunately most free versions of SketchUp do not have support for DXF files

      It depends how you want to render ... low res mid res or high res. it takes long time to create realistic lighting. Ok I will make a video on that ... then it will be easy to understand

    we can use Illustrator to convert image to vector then save it as dxf

    You could've used directly photoshop to convert image into 3d and export as stl or collada, this is time consuming and inefficient
