Our birthdays are one day apart, October 18th, we're all cool. Another Canadian band you might enjoy is The Tragically hip, especially fully completely and Day for night, Nautical disaster is a my favorite track. Anything from Pearl Jam or Nirvana is great too, keep up what you're, it's great.

I was in a RUSH tribute band in college. We didn't play that trippy space sound at the first part of 2112, just the first two notes and our audience just absolutely lost it. The audience would sing "And the meek shall inherit the Earth" and we would just go into our zone, so into playing the music that we were unaware of anything but the music. We didn't start out as a tribute band. We played an unrehearsed Spirit of Radio on our second gig and our audience just went crazy, whereas before it kind of a muted "yay". That 'yay" turned into "AWESOME YEAH!!". Best years of my life.

I enjoy watching people(especially young people) fall in love with music I love.
    Thank you!
Neil Peart was the GOAT (RIP) GOD has him now
Neil wrote all the lyrics for the band..
"Listen to my music. Hear what it can do
There's something as strong as life
I know it will reach you"
They were at war with their production people. This is giving them the middle finger.
Get in to the story. It's worth it.
That was side 1. Side 2 has other very good songs too.
There's videos on RUclips with a serious cool video to go with the song. Enjoy!
Three weeks later I want to fill you in on what this song is all about. Please acknowledge if you get it.
The band was at war with their record company/publishers because they wanted shorter more radio friendly music.
So the band pretty much gave them the finger and said, "We're doing this for us not you." They didn't need to
include their fans because they knew we were already onboard. Thus the20+ minute song. The entire side of 2112.
The song is about that war between what THEY want and what WE(collectively) want.
Tell me that wasn't a great ride. I dare you. 🎸😎👌

What gives this musical piece by Rush its psychological value is the fact that it is basically a classic Greek tragedy. Our hero with no name is presented as a Cassandra figure, who knows that the only reasonable action is surrender but no one will make that reasonable act.

This album was their response to their record company giving them an ultimatum to do something mass appeal and ditch the artsy concept albums, or they'd likely be dropped. They doubled down and decided to go out on their terms, if it was their last hurrah. And they made arguably the greatest concept rock album of all time.

It was a thorn in his side. I listened to a radio show back in the 80s that featured commentary and interviews with the band members of Rush. Neil was 99% MIA, with the exception of one sentence, which was this - "It's not Pert, it's not Peart (pronounced like the fruit), it's Peart (pronounced like the human 'ear')". He did not sound happy.

If you like smooth instrumental guitar, then have a look at one of the top ten guitarists of all time, the king of the instrumental STEVE VAI, Steve vai doesn't need words, he tells the story with his facial expressions, have a look at Steve vai TENDER SURRENDER (SteveVaiHimself), Steve also plays with two violinists, one of them is the world class Chinese American girl Ann Marie Calhoun , have a look at NOW WE RUN (SteveVaiHimself), also keep an eye on the drummer's great performance in now we run ,Jeremy Colson, it's not a Neil peart from rush size drum kit but he can certainly play it, A beautiful tune from a show I saw many years ago WHISPERING A PRAYER, STEVE VAI LIVE AT THE ASTORIA LONDON, (SteveVaiHimself) the camera work at this show was pretty poor, but watch Steve's facial expressions telling the story. Another great performance, and another great show I'M THE HELL OUTTA HERE-- CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL with some interesting guitar playing in the middle of the tune. Steve vai also acted in a movie from 1986 CROSSROADS , in the EPIC GUITAR BATTLE SCENE. between Steve vai and RALPH MACCHIO, older people will remember RALPH MACCHIO in THE KARATE KID MOVIES. good verses evil, who will win RALPH or STEVE. Best wishes from the north east coast of England. I nearly forgot not so long ago Steve vai had to have shoulder surgery and also had a problem with the fingers on his other hand, but that didn't stop him recording KNAPPSACK (SteveVaiHimself), you've got to see it to believe it, an incredible performance playing with ONE HAND!.

I like your reaction but you gotta tell me what your little hand signs mean. I really hope you are sincere about Rush and not just saying what you think people wanna hear, I don't think you are, and that makes me have alot of respect for you in understanding and hearing the great talent Rush had. I listen to stuff my daughter listens to and I really don't understand what has happened to music nowadays it's all so fake you don't hear the real voices and you don't even have to play and instrument good because they auto tune or sing through mics that always keeps them in the right key you just have to look the part. Thats why music like this will never die and music ,not all but the majority of what I hear nowdays wil be forgotten. We need a younger generation to bring it back to strive to be as good or better than groups like Rush Floyd, Zeppelin ,yes masters of their instruments and always pushing for better and more difficult and challenging arrangements. I hope this might be you. Do you play any instruments? Anyway your reaction was appreciated.

Elok, I appreciate that you are reacting to Rush, but I'm concerned that you are told to make one of the same two reactions throughout all of your videos; and the comments after are scripted for you.
