as an existential philosopher of over 22 years and a new believer I am happy to see someone wearing a clerical collar thinking and talking about such things. although the audio being cut out to shill some course is abysmally disgusting bad faith.
When I've studied panentheism over the years, I keep coming back to its premise of a poor Trinitarian Theism, or one that is poor expressed. Years ago I reviewed 'Trinity on Process' by Bracken and Suckocki (eds), and said the same then, and quite honestly I've not had reason to change my mind on that. However, I think that there might be the possibility of a development of this theology by placing it within an Eastern Orthodox paradigm; one that seems to allows for immanence and transcendence simultaneously, theosis so that our experiences are those of God, participation through emanation, whilst retaining the orthodoxy that has come down to us through the ages.
I like some of what you've said - especially the idea of simultaneity. However, I would like to ask if you see all of these types of debates as simply being representative of our rationalist mind and, hence, are always limited. When it comes to the 'ground' of Eckhart don't we need to move 'beyond' (apologies I have no other expression) all these ideas in order to 'arrive' at the state of 'knowing'? Until we let go of all of our ideas and concepts we are, to some extent, trapped within the limits of our experience?
If we believe in a God who is transcendent as well as immanent then that is parenthesis. I can understand Jews & Muslims believing only in God's transcendence but not Christians. The incarnation surely blows classical theism out of the water doesn't it? It's clear from John's writings and Paul's too that they were panentheists. Just read Jesus in John 14:20. Clearly Jesus taught penentheism. Look at John 17. How about Jesus telling us that the kingdom is within us? Peter says we are partakers in the divine nature. The entire Christian tradition of Theosis can only be grasped in pantheism terms. Why did Christianity regress into the Old Testament transcendent God view? There is a reason that panentheistic perspective is re-entering the church. It's the Spirit of Truth breaking through again as She is with so many aspects of our faith. Our golden calf idols need smashing so we can be able to see the bleeding obvious that so much scripture presents. One current work of the Spirit in the church is Apocostastasis - the restoration of all things in God so that finally God will be all in all (1 Corin 15: 20 - 28). Wake up church as to what the Dpirit is saying. Because it is a Spurit to Spirit connection, the truth will resonate in your heart maybe a long time before the head gets it. If today you hear His voice harden not your hearts.
And how does the incarnation ‘blow’ classical theism apart? To the contrary, the incarnation seems to make no sense under panentheism. How does God enter a creation that already is in him?
Down voted because of the sound cut off. Was going to sub but not now, wouldn't recommend this channel to anyone because of that fact. Great Job Timeline Theological Videos.
Started off well and then silence with a blurb asking for a subscription. I don’t mind paying for subscriptions but I like to be informed of that at the onset and not after being already invested-that seems rather duplicitous and especially coming from a Theological Channel. I unsubscribed and have moved on.
I recently subscribed. I did find this video quite interesting, but am also a little offended by the cutoff ...unexpected silence/a sales pitch. Kind of felt like a tossing out of some crumbs of knowledge, but then unexpectedly slamming the door to the rest of the information...unless we give money. Either let us know at the beginning of what else is to come, or give a shorter, audible pitch at the end instead of a (felt a bit rude), silent Woody the Woodpecker, "ah ah ah ahha, that's all folks!" I'll continue to subscribe for now, however as I did learn quite a bit, and do give credit for the way in which the content was so nicely presented.
Nah mate, the universe doesn't exist within god, youre coming at it from your christian lense, if you must bring in your god notion into it, the cosmos is "god", but the universe just is no god reference needed, I'm part of the universe as are you, we are both conscious thus the universe is conscious, but am I god are you god, no we are just part of the universe , part of the whole. Give up your "god" compulsion and smell the beauty of what is.
IS GOD THE MIND?? DID GOD DEPENDED ON MIND TO CREATE CREATION TRU TIME, SPACE AND LAWS OR SINS??? GOD SUPPOSE TO BE INDEPENDENT NOT DEPENDENT.. THE DEPENDENT ENTITY WAS ACTUALLY THE MIND, NOT GOD.. THE MIND USES IT S ADMINISTRATION OF ANGELS AND SMALLER gods when running his limited WILL.. The real One God that is above the MIND, has his Manifestations of Names or logos or living words, and is running the Universal Will tru them, NAMES OR WORDS

Why is there no audio after 16:19 ?
Must have intentionally removed the voice so people interested would pay for the whole course?
audio cuts off halfway, would love to listen to a re-upload
They expect you to subscribe to the channel in order to watch full episodes.

How do John 14:20 and 17 teach that creation exists within God?

Also - “regress into Old Testament view of God”? Wow. Talk about mask off.

Interesting. Just not enough to make fall into their cheap trick to make you pay for their membership.

You should have told us this before we began. Dishonest in my book and wasted my time,
GOD IS NOT MIND
You see there? He was struck dumb halfway through for promoting this diabolical heresy.
