A slightly mad case, with so much potential, so many included extras such as the PCIe Gen4 riser cable (£80) and the Tempered glass replacement front panel if you don't want the airflow one.
Also added in are extra GPU mounts for the vertical and floating orientations, and a lot of screws cable ties and zip wrap to secure everything.
Overall an excellent value premium case with immense flexibility and features

RGB hating aside I really like the layout that this floating GPU offers. Great way to show off your shiny new GPU should you wish too and I suspect it would help with thermals too a bit ! Thanks for the great video, Mike and Kath.

Wow! Thermaltake have put together one helluva showcase imo.I realise CTE is intended to draw air in on 3x sides and extract vertically but your setup makes more sense. If anything I bet the 140mm fans would look even better! Great idea to float the GPU and include the riser cable too! Neat touch the front io cable albeit the HD cable still multi coloured lol Wish I had the room and the budget for this Showcase! Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 👍
yeah i wish i had the room for it, it really is a huge case
But the 700 is even bigger🤣 this one cannot be that huge lol. Yeah I hated that HD audio cable. I hope it can be replaced easily or..just not plug it in. The gpu is pretty much inaccessible after mounting it using floating mode. Not great if you want to hook up another monitor.. we'll see.
Hi, Mike. Awesome case. Sounds like you're not as against having the motherboard turned 90 degrees as you used to. I have to say I've loving my C750 Air, if it's possible to love a metal box. LOL. I like the effect of the floating GPU in the E600MX. I wish my case came with a gen 4 riser cable. But I have one that I bought for a Lian Li case that would work if i decided to use it. I really like the Swafans, but filling my case with them would cost more than the price of the case.
yeah the more open section at the top here allows better access to USBs and video outputs, which wasn't as good on early models like the tower etc.

This case has pretty much everything you could want. Massive air flow, great looks... I'm scared to go look at the price 😅

I wish they'd finally bring us a huge case like the C750 Air with the CTE, but with the *traditional* GPU orientation. They are built like that for the coolers to work properly. Any vertical orientation has been shown to cause issues with cooling, so I don't understand why they insist on it.
Edit: This design only works properly with blower style cards that exhaust the air out the back, but they are few and far between.
i would disagree, i have used a number of these now and the GPU almost always runs a good few degrees cooler with the fans blowing through it
@mikesunboxing I will have to disagree with that because it makes no sense from a thermal standpoint, and numerous tests from reputable reviewers I trust have shown that the cooler and fan position are designed this way for a reason. Convection in this case doesn't work as well as one might think because the fan from the bottom will blow its hot air up to the heatsink part of the fan at the top that is trying to cool its own. Whereas the traditional design has the air blowing upwards, through and past the fins and the backplate, where convection will naturally cool the backplate as the air moves past it.
The FE cards are blower style cards, by the way, which exhaust out the back. That's why they work better in these setups. But it's really hard to get your hands on one, so the average consumer would be throwing money out the window here.
What further bothers me is that 2 rows of fans are set as exhaust, and what appears to be 1 row of intake fans. This creates negative pressure, pulling a lot of dust inside, which seems very likely with that open top. That case is gonna dust up so quickly.
A plausible explanation I have for your own subjective experience is that the huge amount of air movement in these particular cases forces a greater/faster effect of convection, but then again, take any massive case and put a bunch of 140mm high CFM fans in it with the traditional mounting of the GPU and you'll get better results. Especially when the GPU is mounted in a way where it practically only receives fresh, cold air.
Unless you used (the same) FE card(s) for all those tests, then that would basically be mostly meaningless. I've explained why at the top.
And a friendly footnote: The radiator is unfortunately mounted incorrectly. Tubes should be facing down, or at least be below the pump if possible. Though in this case it might not be possible, which makes this case design even worse. And if you actually take a look at customer reviews, you'll see that the most reported problem with these types of cases is GPU thermal issues.

Oh, one addendum because I noticed an error on my part: I was talking about the case with the GPU mounted at the top, vertically. Still, even in this particular setup, vertical mounting is not optimal.
i really like the cte series in general because graphics card have gotten so large that a 90 degree rotation of the motherboard eliminates any sag

i like them both for different reasons, for me the ASUS was more stable out of the box, but i hate armoury crate and their nonsense software.
