  • Yes, we made the YT Izzo into a mullet with 29 up front and 27.5 out back. It is way lighter this way and accelerates faster and jumps awesome. More details in the video

So what was the final verdict on climbing after a little more use? I have demoed so many bikes and I am a firm, firm believer that 29" wheels do not work on the back of small frame bikes. There is just not enough butt-to-tire clearance even when just sitting to lower the seat for descending. I really want a shorter travel bike but cannot find one without a 29" rear wheel. We love our YT bikes and I would love to get an Izzo.

Swapped a xt der and 450g cassette for xtr and 330g e13 trs race. Includes swapping from shimano to XD driver, also lighter..
Big difference in unsprung weight and bikes overall feel, being about 6-7 oz lighter in total.

Awesome. I'm living vicariously through all your videos. My izzo comp is still one month away :)
Obviously you like to tinker, so you are probably a good person to ask: I'm living in the middle of nowhere with no local bike stores around so I would like to have most of the equipment ready before the bike shows up. One thing I'm interested in is a 140mm air shaft for the fork. However I cannot find any that matches the Rhythm-variant on the izzo comp. Any idea?

paal first, I think you may not end up caring about that. This shock performs “shockingly” well. Second, RockShox does that with their Debonair air springs but I don’t think Fox works that way.

I don't believe you can extend the travel in the Fox Rhythm, I think only on their Performance series.

@@Poopoobrigade Seems to be some stuff here, but maybe outdated? I'm new to the hobby. All this stuff is super confusing to me :P

@@paal6846 I believe the 2017 and 2018 models are different kits. I was going to extend the travel on my 2018 Fox Rhythm but couldn't find a kit. Luckily I got a good deal on a performance series fork. I can't remember exactly why but im almost certain it was because a kit wasn't available starting with that year for my rhythm.

Which lever did you use to replaced the grip shift lockout?
