Malaysian here, ive once went to Indonesia for a week and in every store i went, i ordered nasi goreng. Even at the hotel breakfast, i would always wait in line for the nasi goreng. Eating Indonesian nasi goreng for week was one of the best thing i ever did.
Funny thing is, for me as an Indonesian, nasi goreng in one booth and another can be very different. And hotel fried rice tastes bland compared to those street booth fried rice

I remember this in my childhood, my mom would cook anything with sambal (egg, chicken, eggplant, etc), then cook fried rice in the next morning with leftover sambal and rice (left it to cool and dry overnight). Perfect dish to start a day. It's crazy to think how efficient a mother can be and still make delicious food from it.

As a Malaysian, this is something which I find lacking in Malaysian Nasi Goreng, we used almost similar ingredients like spicy sambal as well, but the final dish will not be accompanied by Keropok Udang. Probably because in Malaysia, Keroponk Udang is pricier than other types of crackers such as Keropok Ikan, but even then most street vendors in Malaysia would not include any fish cracker, let alone prawn cracker.

As a Malaysian, this is something which I find lacking in Malaysian Nasi Goreng, we used almost similar ingredients like spicy sambal as well, but the final dish will not be accompanied by Keropok Udang. Probably because in Malaysia, Keroponk Udang is pricier than other types of crackers such as Keropok Ikan, but even then most street vendors in Malaysia would not include any fish cracker, let alone prawn cracker.

@@wirojasuma8768 lol, you call crackers as Kerupuk, we Malaysians call crackers as Keropok, and we know Indonesian's Keropok Udang is great, while Malaysians mostly settle on Terengganu's Keropok Ikan so chill out. Indonesia is not the only country with Kerupuk/Keropok/Cracker.

@@Z0FFY512 I've never seen Malaysia claim nasi goreng as theirs,only saw Indonesian claiming it which is a bit funny coz fried rice origin is neither Indonesia or Malaysia but China.
