      How is your pressure on your heatpress? Also make sure to use check the temp to ensure your temp is accurate.

    • @MrsRia79
      @MrsRia79 6 лет назад +1

      Try firm pressure at 305 degrees for 15 seconds. Make sure you have a smooth surface when you’re pressing. It you’re pressing toddlers or infants you might need a pressure pillow to make sure even pressure is distributed throughout your material. Also, wash inside put on delicate cycle cold. Hang dry if you can or tumble dry. Wash 24 hours after your initial press. Try that and see if it helps.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад +2

      the vinyl brand and the t shirt brand have nothing to do with the print coming off the shirt. whoever told you that, wasnt applying that vinyl correctly on that shirt. buy any 100% cotton shirt and apply any htv made for cotton

    Our heat transfer vynil peels off after a wash... We buy the cricut heat transfer vynil and use it on cotton T-shirts. The problem is that it always ends up peeling off slowly after each wash. Is it the material or is there a method to heat pressing this ?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад +3

      most of the time peeling happens when htv is not applied with the correct pressure or when its applied to a shirt that holds moisture.
      2 things to try out, increase the pressure on your heat press. go as heavy as possible. if it has a knob on top, crank it down all the way and then back it off a turn or two. or until you can get a solid press and clamp.
      and make sure you pre press every garment. your shirt might feel dry to the touch but there still might be some moisture held in the material from humidity. lower the press till it touches the shirt for 3-5 secs. if you lift the press and see steam come off the shirt thats the moisture.
      hope this helps. ive never used cricut htv before. so im just taking a guess at what the issues might be.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  5 лет назад

      gotta make sure what material the dri fit shirt is made out of. if dri fit isnt 100% cotton the htv you been using for 100% cotton might not adhere to the dri fit shirt. gotta buy htv based off of the material you are pressing on.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад +3

      raggedy as in peeling off? or cracking?
      peeling usually happens when its applied with not alot of pressure. try increasing the pressure. also pre press the garment before applying HTV to get all of the moisture out.
      cracking might happen when its applied with too much heat. try decreasing the temp a little.
      always double check your temp with a laser thermometer to get an accurate reading.

    What HTV would you recommend for 100% polyester? Sister Easyweed? Easyweed stretch?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад

      polyester is tricky. i would use bflex. for its low temp and quick press time.
      whenever you press on polyester you run the risk of dye migration. thats when you heat up the material and the color migrates on to the print. say you got a red shirt and you press white htv on it. dye migration will turn that white htv to like a pinkish color

    Decal vinyl won’t stick to the lid of my yeti cooler any idea what I’m doing wrong? The lid has a lil rough texture on top the vinyl sticks real good to the front and back where it’s smooth?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад

      yeah it might be the lids texture or try wiping the lid down with alcohol. there might be a silicone film still on the lid from when it was molded. but im not exactly sure what the issue is because i have never attempted putting a decal on a yeti cooler.

    Good morning I have a question I made my son shirts but when they wear it the letter comes up I have a heat press I have my temperature at 320 but I don't understand why the letter come up can you store vinyl for a long period of time.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад +1

      its probably your pressure. try increasing it. also use a laser thermometer to get an accurate temp read. adjust the heat. try pressing a little hotter for longer. its all trial and error to find the best settings for your set up

    Whats the biggest tip heat pressing on windbreakers?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад

      biggest tips... know the material the windbreaker is made of, buy the correct transfers for that material, use a laser thermometer to check your heat. so you dont melt your jacket

    Can self adhesive vinyl work for t shirts?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад +1

      no thats like decal vinyl. you need vinyl thats made for the material you are going to apply it on. if you plan on putting vinyl on cotton shirts you gotta buy vinyl made for cotton shirts

    How long is the shelf life of vinyl

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 года назад

      not sureZ ive pressed htv that was 2 years old and it still laid down with no issues. and also cut decal vinyl that was a little over 2 years old. no issues. but it all depends on the condition of where its being stored. humidity and stuff like that can mess with its shelf life

    What 5 colors to get first

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  6 лет назад

      white. that would be my only suggestion when starting out. you can change the color of the shirt to any color you want and be able to press white on it.
      all the other colors depend on your target audience and colors you plan on designing. its all personal preference but i know white will go along way for anybody with a vinyl cutter and heat press.
