I'm going on holiday to Turkey at the beginning of September. Courtesy of all the air miles I racked up with Turkish Airlines in my last job, I'm going (and coming back) business class. First time on holiday in Turkey (as opposed to working), and I'm really looking forward to it.
Me too, if you looked at Lufthansa business class seat, it looked the same as the economy class seats but on Turkish business class seats looked different from the economy class seats

I absolutely adore Turkish Airlines... I live in Dublin, Ireland and fly Turkish to Istanbul at least once every 6 weeks.. Even their economy class is fabulous on the 4 hour 20 minute flight. Business class between Istanbul and JFK was my best flight ever .. even better than Cathay Pacific between Dublin and Hong Kong... Love your videos, Dan and wondering if you have ever experienced China Southern Airlines in business or economy as I'll be flying to Phnom Penh from Amsterdam on a A330 via Beijing in economy but returning via same route in business class... Heard mixed reviews but hopefully I'll get an upgrade from Amsterdam!!

You're right, that's exactly what happened. And Turkish decided to not pay their membership fee to Skytrax and look at what rank they are now. (especially if you know that Turkish was selected Best European Airline for 5 consecutive years in a row)

Most of their A320 flights are one/one and a half hour flights, while the average duration of narrowbody flights on TK or SU (those airlines who have a real Business Class) is somewhere around three hours, maybe even more than that. Nobody is going to pay more for a real Business Class on such short flights. And referring to the five-star thing, Lufthansa's Business Class isn't rated five stars by SkyTrax.

Surnikova Keep in mind that Lufthansa uses their A319/320 to Baku and even Pune. Going from Germany to India on one of those slimline seats is dreadful and unacceptable for a 5* airline, no matter what the average duration of flight operated by those planes usually is.

Must admit I'd heard good things about Turkish but WOW when I flew them from Manchester they were fantastic the service is definetly 5* and that was economy class the food was amazing and the aircraft was beautiful and immaculate when we boarded I'll save up and treat myself to businesses class next time

I always fly with turkish airlines just once I flew with austrian airlines but it was NOT a comparison to the turkish airlines. The crew, the service, the food, the technomogicsl euqitments, the sests and the journey + experience are amazing in the turkish airlines! I will never ever change my turkish airlines. Turkish, Etihad, Emirates, Qatar and Qantas in my opinion are the only airlines where the Economy class is perfect for a 5h or less flight and Business is amazing for 5h+.

I travel to turkey about three time a year for work and always take business class. If the flights are longer you will have chairs that actually turn into beds. They also have a food cart that has ice cream, shrimp, and Turkish desserts. I also go on different airlines for work also but turkish is the best by far.

Also İstanbul is THY’s hub. So when leaving İstanbul there is a HUGE lounge (chefs, showers, few stories, private security)and a special bus comes to pick you up to take you to your plane.

First of all, I just wanna make clear that I agree on your take on Lufthansas European Business Class! Turkish Airlines standards are just way above those at Lufthasa. However, I just wanted to point out that you are comparing a short haul product with a medium haul product.
The hardware won‘t change, but on a Lufthansa Flight from Frankfurt to Instanbul you will also be offered a hot towl, recieve a cocktail service before the meal, have a three-course meal with a choice of different hotmeals, heated bread, served on porcelain, different wine choices etc.
The seat won‘t change, there still lacks an entertainment system, but you will have a different service experience!
Reemt 25 TK also has the same business class seats for a 40 min domestic flight
Worst Turkish Airlines BC is on their A319 and B737-700, which in total they have 7 of them. Still, its 36 inches. On the A320s it is even better.
1h20 vs 3h05 does make a difference, because Lufthansa offers different service modules :)

As far as I know; in flight entertainment system in Turkish Airlines is the same for both Economy and Business.
And they serve pretty decent food in Economy too, (better than few other companies' business class!)
