Y'all are getting it done a little at a time!! It's looking good so far. And the treasures y'all are finding!! Awesome!!! What a BLESSING it is to find the tools too! Y'all can use them on the renovations. Keep up the great work, I eagerly look forward to watching each Sunday.
Kerry's right - the devise is for cleaning a rectangular chimney. Here's a health tip: get two 24" window fans. One for blowing fresh air into the room you are working in and the other to blow it. That's some nasty dust I see in the air all around you. Great video series and I'm looking to see what you do with the place. It has some beautiful bones. Lee
Id leave that table saw in the box. Looks like a 70s or 80s one. Ive never seen one still in the box. I think there are vintage tool guys who would love that.
Love your dedication and the fact you are taking your time going through things bit by bit. Please wear respirator all the time even when just grabbing a bucket and leaving! You can see so much dust in the air and remnants of years of breakdown. Be super safe!
Hey, always good to see another episode. I love that you guys are actually taking a look at whats there and not just launching everything in the bin, it's interesting. That miniature lathe is so cool, i used to have one about the same size when i was a kid, it's what my dad taught me to turn wood on. That cage on the chain is a rectangular chimney cleaner, I cant remember the brand but i do remember the packaging, some guy in a shirt holding it up like it was a fish he caught, and on the side it said "Lasts a lifetime" and directly under "5 year warranty", made me wonder which animals lifetime they were referring to.
I am enjoying seeing your progress. It is going to be a lovely home again because of you. When you get to the library be sure to try and check the hardback books. I'm about your age and my grandparents and even my parents would hide money and important papers in the books.
Y'all are so much better than me. As you were going through all that stuff, I'm like, "Throw that away!" Lol As a mom, be careful of anything with mouse or rat droppings. Huntavirus. Be sure to wear gloves. 😊😊
My JennAir range came with the grill attachment. Which I love. They all did.. Did they leave any components for yours? I have the glass burner componentss on now. I also have the griddle. If you keep that range and use it I think you'll love it. It never goes out of style.Mine doesn't have that part on the back.I can't see why they didn't vent it out the wall on the left. I also have my microwave over my stove. Much more convenient doesn't take counter space.
Looking great y'all!! It is beginning to look a little happier. Poor old house. All your roads led to her and I am excited you are allowing all of us on the www to see her come back to life. Where do the stairs lead to? I can't wait to find out.
In the first video you can get a rough idea where the stairs lead. Both those in the kitchen area and those in the workshop lead to the same upstairs space, possibly former servants' quarters and storage.
while you were talking through the contents of the shelves, neither of you are wearing masks and the dirt particles are clearly thick in the air. In a house that age you could easily be kicking up asbestos or other toxic particulates. There are some things that aren't worth taking a chance, and your lungs are more important that the contents of a cupboard. Use more caution with what you breath in or you might regret it when you get older.

chimney cleaner drop it down, it expands and pull it up and it scrapes the soot off the chimney wall
We love watching your progress! I would be looking in all containers and tins, even when they seem empty, in case there were any $ bills in there!
I look forward ever Sunday seeing your all's channel. The house is looking better ever time I see it.
I think the wire object you found is for cleaning chimneys. It's dropped from the roof down the chimney.
Yes, part of reviving this house is cleaning it out. Enjoying it all! Thank you!
