AJ, great words to live by. "If you are not putting your foot high and tight to the fender leave it on the peg". Having basic thought processes like that keeps me from overthinking things.

Missed it due to evening college class... great video.
Something that id like to see, and possibly be good for other newbs like me. A video explaining what gear your in around the track, in turns, over jumps and when your shifting..say before turn, in turn, in air etc. Just an idea for content that in struggling with due to in used to riding road bikes that font rev at 13k. Lol

I;ve watched all of your videos AJ. I hit my first Motocross track this weekend after only getting my 06 Honda CRF250r one year ago. I had to repair it first and have only been riding it off and on every weekend for a hour maybe and not every weekend. You have helped me a ton. I wanted to communicate something I've learned this weekend.. I combined your instruction of squeeze the bike hard with your knees and high toe to fender in turns and that helps so much more in turns as well as not even having to think about lifting my toe and raising to the fender if I just keep squeezing the bike with my knees when I put out my leg. It automatically goes right to the fender!
Can't wait to go back to the track already! Yes, I'm 43 and I'm a bit sore. lol But I rode every time my class (Vet C) went out on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. First go round I only did 3 laps with a 2min break in between the 2nd and 3rd lap. The rest of the day I stayed out riding until the checked flag was raised to call us in.
Thanks a ton! ON TO THE NEXT VIDEO.

You're doing a really good job with this videos man! I have the same problem the big guy with kawi has, especially when I start to push, I tend to use more my upper body to turn. and then I drop my inside elbow, front end tucks and I messed up the turn. Do you have a practice excercise or further tips to avoid this mistakes? Many thanks

In 1997 Hollister race track had Two Feet of sand put on top. AMP racing had to prep it. Corky and Jack worked all night. But still it whooped out. My son was racing 60 intermediate....the braking whoops from big bikes were so deep that all you could see was a kids head poke out of them !!! Around the big U turn was worst. Never seen anything like it. Hollister was forever changed that day, it went from a hard pack and blue groove track to a nice track.

Can you do some videos with you riding the track but explaining what gear you are and how much acceleration and clutch use with cameras showing would be so cool

Aj, as far as feet on or off the pegs goes, what about in a sweeping corner where pegs are dragging and rollers start about halfway through? Standing or sitting with both feet on causes the boot to catch the ground but sitting is tough too because of the rollers wanting to kick you up off the seat. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I'm 36 now but didn't start riding until I was 25. Sometimes I ride ok but when the track starts to get really beat up I tend to struggle a bit. It can be frustrating but I absolutely love riding dirtbikes. Definitely feel like I could use more instruction. Often I feel embarrassed getting smoked by younger kids on an 80.

I’ve been kinda scared now that I’ve been back on the bike because I broke my leg going threw a corner and I had it up at my fender the back tire slid out from under me and the handlebar bent my leg back and broke my femur I was wondering how to prevent that and how to get over the fear of doing that

I'm a big fan love the school. I wish there was a way you could test my bike out and give me so feedback and ideas about upgrading components it's a Chinese dirtbike its called an egl motor A16 250 cc it cost me 2000$ brand new outta the box. Electric start full suspension with clickers if you get a chance take a look I think its absolutely awesome for the money. I'm 53 and have alot of injuries I'm due to have both my hips replaced and I'm hoping after those surgeries I will be able to ride again like I used to back in the day. Anyways love your school keep it up..... your fan Terry

How would you approach downhill braking bumps leading into a sharp turn at the bottom? I gave it zero throttle and floated through them the best i can. Would this be correct?

I always used to struggle with breaking bumps at Winchester because I would com at then and not attack them and hesitate for me it was just simply getting in attack position and charging them
