Wow, what a find. As a songwriter Keith Sykes is legendary and this song right here gives you a taste of just why. Listewn to those chord changes, the melody, and oh, those lyrics. Simply beutiful
I love to find recordings of songs performed by the original author. Sometimes, I am disappointed in the author's interpretation of his own song. A good example of this is the Steve Goodman classic "City Of New Orleans". I have heard a number of different performers cover that song, but Arlo Guthrie still does it the best over everyone else. Willie Nelson totally ruined it. That was the absolute worst rendition ever! Steve Goodman's was only slightly better than Willie's. Comparing Keith Sykes to Jimmy Buffett, I have to call it a straight-up tie. 50/50 right down the middle. Both are totally excellent. I have loved this song ever since Jimmy put it on his 1978 album Son of A Son of A Sailor. Thanks, Keith for blessing us with this music.
Beautiful 💚 thanks for posting
