To intercept your drones they gonna have to use missiles that cost $2 million each while your drones cost like $5k each. Half the time, its probably better to take the hit from the drone than to intercept it. By telling your enemy about the drone attack and making it public, you force them to intercept it to save face thus losing a bunch of money.
