Iran staged a military parade near Tehran amid escalating tensions with arch-rival Israel. Ballistic missiles, rockets and drones were on display at the event presided over by Iranian leader Ebrahim Raisi. The president said last weekend's attack "brought down" the glory of the Israeli regime and vowed a "severe" response if prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu retaliated. Western leaders urged Israel to de-escalate and craft a response that would limit the regional fallout. The US and the European Union are also pursuing sanctions against Iran in a bid to appease the Israelis. Will diplomacy and threats deter Israel from striking? Palki Sharma tells you.

As a member of the BRICS block, I doubt that 'sanctions' against Iran will hurt Iran any more than sanctions against Russia during the Ukraine War hurt Russia! In fact they had a 'boomerang' effect and hurt those nations who imposed them. The quality of the thinking behind both of these wars (or all three, if one calls the war against Iran a separate phenomenon) on the western side is abysmal!

Nestle story: I am an American woman and this happens even in my country. There are additives in some of our food and packaged items, like colors and preservatives, that are banned in Europe and Canada. Also, Coke and soft drinks available in the US contain high fructose corn syrup, which is extremely harmful to health. We need our government to ban hfcs and force companies to add real sugar instead. Corporations are only interested in profits, not our health. We need to read the labels carefully before consuming. So, this is not just a problem in poor countries, corporations do this in first world countries as well. Also, about the fake medicines, there were some toxic medicines manufactured by Indian pharmaceutical companies that have killed people. Remember the toxic cough syrups from last year? So, you can't blame the West and western companies for all your problems.

Seeing all this is positive and encouraging to hope for the better is a natural reaction.?However, having seen this, all now depends on the outcome of this massive opposition to the war in form of the warring countries returning to the peace position and the resolution of the conflict between them through peaceful means.
Understandably, for the present ongoing global opposition to the escalation of the hostilities in the Middle East conflict between Israel and Iran and their calls for restraint from further escalating the tensions has significantly increased chances of de-escalation. And again, the western bloc; and their traditional ally, the superpower United States have already echoed the same message in the same clear terms. They have already assessed the potentially disastrous consequences that the war between these two countries will bring to the world as a whole. In the wake of the world demanding restraint from escalating the tensions, the Turkish entry into the Middle East is also a silver lining for de-escalating tensions between them, hopefully.
