I was at this gig. Great atmosphere. They had been playing large arenas earlier in the tour but this was a much smaller venue. I vividly remember the part where Bono stopped “Pride - In the Name of Love” near the start (telling Larry Mullen Jr stop playing over him, because it was not a “Foxtrot” - another thing I vividly remember). The song starts at 1:10:44. The reason he stopped the song (at 1:11:17) was because a guy I knew, that I went on the coach to London with, Steve Lowe, had just leapt up on stage and put his arm around Bono’s neck and was trying to dance with him, until two bouncers came and dragged him off stage!
Only just come across this. I was there, travelled on a coach 6hrs each way from Middlesbrough. Waterboys supported, first (of many) time I saw U2 live. Amazing night 😊
