Framelines and PaulieB are 2 of the most important channels on yt rn. Clearly still a beginner, but when I started 2 yrs ago, it was demotivating to watch the “creators” who make a living in selling their presets, or reviewing gear, and pushing photographs of buses or any other random crap saying that is street photography. Thanks for keeping us motivated! And nothing wrong with making a living on yt as long as you’re keeping it honest.
Rediscovering film after 22 years of digital, is amazing! As a 60’s kid I shot film for close to 30 years. Love that this is a thing again. Dusted off my Nikon FE2 and lenses and broke down and bought an M6. I forgot how much I love the mechanics of film photography. Enjoying Framelines and all the fantastic content around this medium.
For me, at 63, what got me into street was the sad realization that after 30yrs dipping in and out of amateur photography in every genre from landscape, to macro to portrait etc, I have almost never taken a shot that hasn't been done by any number of other people and mostly better than me. Street on the other hand is amazing and highly individual. The vast majority of shots I takes haven't been done to death by somebody else and my composition is highly individual. The only downside is my knee arthritis is getting worse so the walking is a killer and I now have to do mostly camping. But it's all good 😊👍 Btw Paulie Bs Ribsy edition was sublime
I was the same as you in my photography, started watching street photographers like Josh ,Paulie B ,Roman Fox and Faizal Westcott, and decided this was for me , as in my mind people are not going to be around for ever where as Landscapes and Architecture are most of the time, and by doing street to me it is like street theatre always something different and i love walking 😊
Wonderful video, I am fan of both of your channels. Agreed, by far Paulie's channel is one of the best out there if not THE BEST. He is a true ambassador for Street Photography and his Walkie Talkie videos are so refreshing. Every street shooter he featured is a story of its own and of excellent quality. It's like medication for bored minds or people with a block, very inspiring. Walkie Talkie US and World Wide, Paulie PLEASE DO !! Excellent video and I am glad you are a Paulie fan too, makes me feel even more sure that this is the right channel to follow Thanks for sharing
Such a nice guy. Paulie's videos are so inspiring, even though it would be tough to do the NY Street type Photography here. The community and the friendship between the photographers around Paulie that is really something to look up to. Good video, Josh 🤩📷👍
Man this is good...been in a bit of a rut lately photographically and this got my wheels turning again. Loved this and everything paul is doing. Great video!
Why do they shoot film, and why do they all use Leica's? I've watched all the episodes. Always look forward to the new episodes.. It's nice hearing the views of other photographers too.
What a great episode. Balancing parenthood and the need to get out and shoot is hard when they are young. Mine are a little older now and one of them is picking up a camera and is a pretty proficient shooter. Hope to get her out with me soon.
An obvious comment, but those Walkie Talkie videos are a godsend. I was in London last Saturday at Oxford Circus and I spotted a guy with a Leica. I was doing some street too, so I spoke to him and he said that he was from NYC and then quickly afterwards said that he had met Paulie B. Shows the great effect that Paul is having when two strangers doing street talk about those videos in London!
Yes, where I live film is all mail-order. And the wait times to get development/prints violate the Geneva convention on torture. I'm sure if I lived in NYC it would be much easier.
Paulie has built his awesome channel on the simple & powerful premise that street photographers may like to work alone for hours but we love to talk to other photographers. He's so important right now!
Street photography is not friendly. Damn dangerous. Surprised nobody has beaten your ass for taking photos or just stolen your gear then beat you. Point a camera at someone and you may regret it.
Paulie and Josh are some of the very small number of street YT channels I follow. Most of them are crap. I agree that it does make you frustrated if you don't get out with your camera!
Literally just watched the new Walkie Talkie ep and saw this and was so stoked, both you guys and him are doing great work for the community - very inspiring!
Thanks for this interview with Paulie B. It's interesting to see who's on the other side of the "Walkie Talkie" interviews. If you ever come through Maryland near Baltimore let me know Paulie B.
This is the second time I have watched this video, absolutely stunning work by Mario Carnicelli. I was captivated by Vivian Maier and Fred Herzog's work but this up with them. Just bought Mario's book to! Thanks for bringing these works to our attention!
Love Paul have been watching his brilliant motivational video vlogs for a year now , never get bored watching and love his Walkie Talkie with special street photographers
Also, any update on ordering Framelines in the EU? i'd absolutely love to order the newest one, but last time I ordered I had to pay almost double the magazine price in customs
Paulie is (imo) the most friendly and supportive photographers I know. Without him the NYC street photography community wouldn’t be the same.
Very well said - thank you Dani
Gotta love Paulie B for what he is doing
absolutely
I shook his hand at Coney Island last weekend. He's just as energetic and personable as in the videos. Not a fake dude at all.
I'd absolutely love Shane or Josh on Walkie Talkie!!!
Paulie,s RUclips channel is so organic and that’s why I love it …

@@tj-kv6vr I had my own darkroom for 25 years. Worked in a film lab for 10. I love the smells!

Oh, and Wallpaper goals!
Well-done! Smashing the like button before reaching 13 minutes. Thanks!
haha thank you for watching, and liking! It means a lot
Perfect example of Kansas City lol - not going through all that shit just to get back my terrible frames haha
It's time to get organized
Big fan of Paulie B, but also love the Bonsai Tee - I had the same one, but accidentally shrunk it!
haha from my old merch days! Nice one Steven
@@frame-lines I would buy another!!!
Bring on Josh and Shane’s walkie talkie episode!
We can only dream!!
Now when they see us on the streets!

You couldn’t do it so it must be bad. Lol. Man up and go do it then come talk.
Love hearing people talk about their process.
Love Paulie and his work! His RUclips page is such a great resource for street photographers, always excited to see a new walkie talkie come up!
Paulie and Josh are some of the very small number of street YT channels I follow. Most of them are crap. I agree that it does make you frustrated if you don't get out with your camera!
I'd love for these to be longer.
cant think of a better person to interview paulie, well done!!

Theres not much we can do unfortunately, its such a shame
One of your best videos Josh. So nice to see someone asking great questions about process and passion. Love Paulie B and what you're doing here.
wow massively appreciate that Jon - thank you
There was a strong street photography community on RUclips in 2021 and prior. I never watched POVs. C’mon now.
Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
