    Looks like a great pack for heading out on a long trail adventure! I appreciate that you tested it for an extended period before creating this review! Well done as always Martin!

      Thanks Paul, I’d been using it on and off for several months with different kit/loads, as a minimal pack it’s great 👍

    Have the 18 l and just used it on my first run home from work. It was a great experience. Apart from being slightly over packed, it was really snug on the back and shoulders and I never felt like running with a backpack.

      Good to hear you're enjoying the 18lt, incredibly stable while running aren't they, much better than running with a standard backpack 👍

    I really like that backpack, especially with the easy access and big openings. The position of the pole holder is a cool idea. It’s nice to have all the tightening straps so that it stays still. Great review Martin!!

    You did a great review Martin! Very detailed and so great that this is not yet released. Thank you for the review, it is a very interesting option as I have a backpack from 2013, taken from Chamonix when I had some discounts from the UTMB. Have a great week! ✌️

      Thanks Mihai, it sounds like you might be needing a new pack at some point, either that or you'll have to start buying birthday cards for the Chamonix pack 😉

    I think my piece of kit that I use the most is my back pack. I take everything with me in my backpack. This one looks insanely comfortable. I will have to look into this. I wonder if a tripod would go where the pole goes. That would make my life so much easier

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад

      I know what you mean with a backpack being really handy for everyday use! I've a couple of tripods & the pole carrier works with the minimal one I have but not the larger one, hope that helps 👍

  • @TDMiller

    Great review. I may need to look into this one! 20l seems a little excessive, but maybe necessary for my race this summer.

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад

      Thanks Timothy, aye 20 can be big for a shorter run but depending on what you have planned it could be ideal 👍

    Love the chest straps with those hooks but hate the belt strap! Great pocket placement and size. Overall, very impressed with that. May even sway me on my next purchase for a light weight back pack. Great review!

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Phil, it's been a good addition, sometimes 20 lt is just spot on for what you have in store for the day. If you're in the market for a lightweight pack, then give it a go 🏃‍♂️

    Great review. Is there capacity for a bladder? Any any brand of bladder?

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад

      Thanks, yes there's space in the back for a bladder, any brand of bladder should be fine, it just comes down to how much you need to drink for size.

    Great comprehensive review Martin. I like how stable the pack is but do the thin straps with no padding bite into your skin on a longer run? The storage accommodations are impressive.

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Sage, I've not had any issues with the thin straps but admittedly I've not managed a really big run with it, I am sure there wouldn't be any issue though. I'll let you know when I get back to those long runs 🏃‍♂️

    • @TheDeterminedRunner

      Not really Steph, it would have been a nice touch if they had made that work though 👍

  • @NomadTerraCrawlers
    @NomadTerraCrawlers 2 года назад +1

    Looks good but yeah the thing straps can be an issue for very long runs especially this is designed for fast packing. What do you think?

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад

      I know what you mean, the heavier the load then thin straps may become an issue. Saying that, with it only being a 20lt pack you can only get x amount in it, I've not had any issues with the straps digging in but potentially with a larger size pack & depending on what your carrying it could be a problem 👍

  • @xjessukx
    @xjessukx 2 года назад +1

    Don't you think the waist belt and chest adjustment loops are way to long

    • @TheDeterminedRunner
      @TheDeterminedRunner  2 года назад +1

      That's true, when you've pulled them in, there is a lot of excess. If you can get the use of a heat gun, you can just cut off the excess, I've done this before with other vests/packs when needed 👍
