Can you imagine being a young band, coming up, and having the fucking Boss tell you that he thinks your band is great? Nevermind fucking playing with you. Holy shit.
Bruce was asked who he would choose to step in if he couldn't sing (Bruce stood in for Bono once) he said either Bono or Brian Fallon, complete respect from Bruce, that's one huge compliment.
This video makes me heart smile. You can tell how much the whole band loves Bruce. Brian can barely sing he is smiling so big in some parts, the drummer has a shit eating grin… and Bruce is totalllllly ripping the guitar. LOVES IT!
+B White Late reply, but I knew from the moment I heard the Gaslight Anthem the first time that 'man, this band sounds a bit like Springsteen, are they a coverband or something?'. No, they're not a coverband.. They're a tribute band, paying freaking homage to Bruce in every sense of it, now with him on the stage in their own song!! I, LOVE, THIS!
This video alone got me hooked on Gaslight Anthem in August '09. Watched it while studying for my very last final of my college career in August '09. The very next day, after finishing my last test, I went to the store and bought The '59 Sound on CD. In my car, I then blasted the CD, windows down, along Ohio's 2-lane highways. The album instantly connected with my Bruce fandom, the ideas espoused in the BTR album. This album truly embodies the rebellious spirit of Rock and Roll.
@@jre-1337 It's hard to find real performances these days. The first thing bands do, when they release a live performance on RUclips, is re-master the sound, and edit errors out!
At this point in their careers, they had like one record out and were relatively unknown still and here they have BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN singing with them on stage to one of THEIR songs. Amazing. (Yes this is a huge crowd, but I'm not convinced everyone knows The Gaslight Anthem at this point. This is a festival)
The old & new. Bruce & Brian. E-Street & the gaslight. Music is, and always will be genuine thanks to guys like these. May the E-street always stay lit thanks to the gaslights.
This was superb I was at this gig with my friend, we were close to the girl with the Greek flag and you can see us on the video for No Surrender when Brian joined Bruce on stage. I already loved Bruce but through this I discovered the Gaslight Anthem and feel in love with them fantastic! Happy memories. :-)
I thought the same exact thing. Bruce is generous with his time with other artist. RUclips is full of videos where The Boss shows up and raises the music cred for established performers and young up and coming artist alike. It would hard to name another star that gives back to the music community the way Bruce has.
chills everytime, always think of my friend who passed away to cancer and the times she was in hospital and i always picture her floating off smiling and free of pain, but leaving us all down here. RIP janet
I remember knowing The Gaslight Anthem and only knowing the 59 sound, At first i thought that's a sweet song. A couple of months later i found this video and noticed it said bruce springsteen i thought holy shit. I watched the video and could not believed what i had seen it was first time i ever got goosebumps from watching a video. 3 years later i still get goosebumps The Gaslight are without a doubt keeping real music alive.
WOW. Just the thought that the Boss would know I exist would surreal enough. But to have him tell me he likes my record? Incredible. That would be enough honestly. But the notion that he join my band onstage to play one of my songs? It wouldnt get much better than that. I always liked this song & am glad to see the Gaslight Anthem succeeding. Hats off to Brian & the band for getting to experience that moment. When the Boss joined you for 59 Sound. THAT WAS AWESOME!!! Gave me chills, too!!! cool.
It doesnt matter what song Bruce plays, if it's live or not, cover or one of his own.. It always sounds awesome. No matter what! He's just the best alive.
I was the this gig. bruce's rendition of 'Racing in the Streets' had old men weeping. the following day i happened to be at westfield shopping centre in shepherds bush (my one and only visit) having a cup of coffee when i realized brian fallon was wandering around outside the cafe speaking on a mobile phone. i waited until he'd finished talking and then went to shake his hand and thank him for the gig. i reflected that i had shaken the hand that had so recently shaken the hand of the boss.
I saw them do this the previous afternoon at Glastonbury in a smallish marquee. Luckily I was down at the front and the roar when Bruce came on nearly lifted the whole tent skywards. One of spontaneous moments that will never be forgotten.
Wow.This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Not because of the Gaslight Anthem or because of Bruce Springsteen...but because you can practically see the singer's heart exploding out of his chest with joy and delight as he shares the mic with BRUCE FUCKING SPRINGSTEEN. I mean, COME ON!! The HUMANITY!!
Want to stand out in a crowd? Bring a big blue and white flag. Man, that works. I actually had a chance meeting with Bruce in Calgary, Canada last week when he and Patti were in town for an equestrian event, and let me tell you......they are pure gold. What a kind and caring couple. They stopped at our table and talked for five minutes. He is totally genuine and a true gentleman.
They playing with the BOSS?! No way, man... this is killing me. It's too good to be true. I love these guys. I'm surprised, the stage didn't catch fire, with such an amount of legendary material performing on it :-)
In 1972, Jon Landau commented on Bruce Springsteen's Colombia records audition tapes, "I have seen rock and roll future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen." In 2009, at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London, Bruce Springsteen commented on The Gaslight Anthem's performance, "I have seen the entire future the music of my children's generation, and its name is The Gaslight Anthem."
I was there. Most awesome afternoon for ever - Bruce rocking it with the best new band in America. Brian came on and played on No Surrender with Bruce too. Legendary.
Can't stop looking. Wish I was there at that time. I'm an old lady, same age as Bruce, but I love the lyrics and music of Gaslight Anthem. Nothingh changes in all those years...............
I love the way that Brian interacts with the crowd. I've yet to see them live, but from all the live stuff I've seen on RUclips you can feel that he gets a kick out of what he's doing.
I went to HRC kinda liking Bruce, but came away loving Bruce and discovering Gaslight Anthem and since then have downloaded a lot of their stuff and raved about them to friends.
brucie n anthem.......WOW .. listened 2 gaslight 1st at glsto n that wiz wen brucie headlined n they were amazin 2gether ... hope gaslight anthem makes it huge in britain... got the 59 sound album so hopefully ma friends wil appreciate them as much as i do....QUALITY xxx
Check for Bruce playing "No Surrender" when he invites Brian on...Brian has tears in his eyes at one point. It was at a HRC..maybe have been the same year.
I was there it was great, this was the first time I heard The Gaslight Anthem so I got into them after that & during "No Surrender" you can see my friend and I in the crowd it was epic! Love both Bruce and The Gaslight Anthem!
this gives me the chills, I can't imagine what it would be like to play with Bruce I wanted to be like him when I was 8 when I got my first Springsteen album
Brian Fallon - 10 years more, and he may be another superstar. He is a great songwriting talent, that has been unfolding through the last 5 years and I think, there will be a lot more to see and listen
This is just great. i heard of Gaslight a couple years ago never really got my interest. Then i hear 45. Go to youtube, find this video. the passion in Brian Fallon's voice is something i call goosebumps. wait bruce with a guitar solo word son word
Can you imagine being a young band, coming up, and having the fucking Boss tell you that he thinks your band is great? Nevermind fucking playing with you. Holy shit.
Mark Curran SRSLY!!! In the beginning when the singer is shaking his head I think he's thinking "FUCK! I'm playing with Bruce, better not fuck it up."
+MJmichand and Brian Fallon doesn't. He rocked it. With the fucking boss. You and I will never know that feeling.
+Mark Curran Imagine being the biggest band in the world and having Bruce tell you he likes your record!
Mark Curran this still gives me chills. Holy fuck.
Seeing them both singing into the mics and Brian not being able to stop grinning gives me shivers. Music is the most powerful thing I know.
Bruce was asked who he would choose to step in if he couldn't sing (Bruce stood in for Bono once) he said either Bono or Brian Fallon, complete respect from Bruce, that's one huge compliment.
Sauce?
the bossight anthem
This is not getting enough credit 😊😊😊
i love how screaming "BRRRRUUUUUCCCEEEE" sounds like "BOOOOOOO"
BOOOOOUUURRRNNNSSS

Bruce is the most genuine high-profile musician there is. Just a great, humble dude.
he’s an elitist douche bag

Alright Bruce break it down!
Can you imagine being able to yell that on stage.
riddmatt87 fuckin’ A right brotha!
the guitar part Bruce adds in the middle is actually beautiful
AdamCMcq44 he took a bit of a poop halfway through, but ya I agree.

I really envy all those people who have experienced this amazing moment. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch this video.
word
This is Bruce at his finest: making somebody else look good; sound good: Steppin up
Watching this vid has literally been the best four and half minutes of my life.
The old & new. Bruce & Brian. E-Street & the gaslight. Music is, and always will be genuine thanks to guys like these.

Still gets me choked up man, legends.
Hahaha imagine the roar if that show was in Jersey
I hope you got to see these fellas playing American slang in jersey with Bruce!!! It’s in RUclips bro
probebly the best thing i have ever watched in a music video
I thought the same exact thing.
Bruce is generous with his time with other artist. RUclips is full of videos where The Boss shows up and raises the music cred for established performers and young up and coming artist alike. It would hard to name another star that gives back to the music community the way Bruce has.
Bruce really needs to cover 59 Sound on his own.
I couldnt possibly be more happy for a band. Im so glad they made it. Their music deserves to be heard by millions.
chills everytime, always think of my friend who passed away to cancer and the times she was in hospital and i always picture her floating off smiling and free of pain, but leaving us all down here. RIP janet
Drummers face at 3:34, haha He is loving it. That had to be an amazing feeling
God I hope this can happen again one day
TylerPierson you and me both

My head just exploded from the sheer amount of awesome on that stage.
Springsteen, does the guy not age graceful as fuck? Dude looks like a stud
money helps, but yeah either that or good Baltic genes lol

Being from jersey this video brought a huge smile to my face. Two groups I love one stage. Amazing!
I was there! "ask and ye shall recieve". such a great start to that day
Wow!
I like the gaslight anthem because it reminds me of bruce's older music! I have loved Bruce my whole life and still do and will!!! And I'm only 15!
I saw them do this the previous afternoon at Glastonbury in a smallish marquee. Luckily I was down at the front and the roar when Bruce came on nearly lifted the whole tent skywards. One of spontaneous moments that will never be forgotten.
If you were up in the air about Bruce Springsteen this should’ve done the job. What an absolute legend.
I don't get sick of this song. I don't get sick of Bruce either. Great stuff. I hope that TGA makes another great record.

I can not even describe this in words how this touches my feelings...
Simply brilliant. Some fantastic bands and music have come out of NJ over the years....keep on rockin' New Jersey !!!
They playing with the BOSS?! No way, man... this is killing me. It's too good to be true. I love these guys. I'm surprised, the stage didn't catch fire, with such an amount of legendary material performing on it :-)
Two of the greatest artists alive! Love this so much!
THis is great and it looks like they're having so much fun together!!

I would LOVE a proper studio recording of this with Bruce on it, anyone else agree?
They just released a song with Bruce on it called History Books 👌
@@Matthiacle666 I know right! So excited for the new album!!
FALLON HAS THE COOLEST JERSEY ACCENT OF ALL TIME!
I was there. Most awesome afternoon for ever - Bruce rocking it with the best new band in America. Brian came on and played on No Surrender with Bruce too. Legendary.
Im a lifelong a massive bruce fan, a freind showed me this video and gaslight are now in my top 5, pure awesome
Can't stop looking. Wish I was there at that time. I'm an old lady, same age as Bruce, but I love the lyrics and music of Gaslight Anthem. Nothingh changes in all those years...............
Love them both!! I saw Springsteen twice, and Gaslight once...just a week ago, love to see them again.
I have watched this video so many times. I never get tired of. I'd like to see them tour together is some fashion. That would be the concert to see!
agree....Bruce is an American icon that will go down in history as one of this country's best voices
I love the way that Brian interacts with the crowd. I've yet to see them live, but from all the live stuff I've seen on RUclips you can feel that he gets a kick out of what he's doing.
Goosebumps... God forbid, but if I ever lose a friend, I hope I'm able to write him something like this.
Listen to the lyrics. It's an amazing song...rather sentimental...about the passing of time and generations.
I saw this for the first time on Christmas Day. What a gift
If I’m not mistaken, that is pure joy on Brian’s face as he GET’S TO SHARE A MIC WITH BRUCE f-ing SPRINGSTEEN!!!!!!!!!
i was at this concert and these were the first time i heard tga live and they were the best band everrrrr !!!!
Love it!!! My hubby & I love G.A , and I love Bruce...what could be better?
I went to HRC kinda liking Bruce, but came away loving Bruce and discovering Gaslight Anthem and since then have downloaded a lot of their stuff and raved about them to friends.
great band..great man...i can hear that song a 1000times..and more...
I grew up listening to Bruce (My mum's a massive fan) so that in a way introduced me to the Gaslight anthem and I'm pretty glad of that :)
Love this video...so much emotion!
i heard my favourite song one last time
The Boss what more can I say except thanks Bruce for all the great tunes and concerts! ; )
Agreed. The whole reason I started listening to them. They played with my hero.
This makes me smile every single time I see it.
Gotta love the Boss- supporting young talent!
i cannot comprehend how magical it must've been to witness this!
My two favourite artists/Bands....Good to see them together C-:
2:42 that’s it. That’s THE moment😁
Best live performance I have ever heard
Wish i could have seen that performance...but I was still really happy to see them at the hard rock in wheatland a few months back =D
I imagine there are few greater joys in life than having the opportunity to yell, "all right, break it down Bruce!"
59 Sound is such a great song. Could’ve easily been a hit song on Born to Run in the 70’s!
God I love this!!!!
The only man that will ever truly know what it means to live like a BOSS!
brucie n anthem.......WOW .. listened 2 gaslight 1st at glsto n that wiz wen brucie headlined n they were amazin 2gether ... hope gaslight anthem makes it huge in britain... got the 59 sound album so hopefully ma friends wil appreciate them as much as i do....QUALITY xxx

Wonderfull, the gaslight anthem is a good band . Great collaboration.... Great Expectations jajaja greeting from Mexico City
Bruce Fallon is a very promising rock singer. I like his style a whole lot, even if his image is different from most rock singers.
sick... i'm stunned. No words can describe this.
The two best baaands / singers / Guitar Players together on stage! Breathtaking!! *_* :)
Music is so powerful! Gotta love it man.
my all time musical idol and one of my favourite modern bands together...this video is EPIC!
