idk why but roman watching his rocket explode is still one of the funniest moments in the show for me.

s2 is the peak succession! the number one boy scene omg the layers of what it means to be logan's number one kid and look what it's done to kendall( so close to winning but the game will always favor logan). also the acting is amazing in this show .
Actually I think it gets better season by season (okay maybe first half of season 3 is a bit slow)
S4 is the best!
Succession definitely doesn't peak at season 2.
Succession may have peaked at either S02 or S04, that's up to debate
One thing I know... it certainly Bores anyone at the 1st half of S03 [ just like GoT S05 was tiresome after Extraordinary S04 ]

Season 1 to me was the weakest. It gets so much better.

Season 2 is my favorite season!
I still love this first season so much, the cast took a few episodes to find the characters but the setup of everything is so good, hard to say it’s altogether weaker than the other 3 outstanding seasons.
This is one of the few shows that consistently gets better and better with each season. Can’t wait for more reactions.

It’s worth seeing shiv’s actress outside the part, when you see her in real life, it’s shocking how differently she carry’s herself
Tom and Shiv are def the most different from their characters, everyone else you can kinda see it (shout out Alan Ruck though). I do think in season 1 Shiv doesn't get a lot of scenes to show off her acting, half of it is snooty political stuff with Gil or cheating scenes, compare it to that scene in season 4, she will win an emmy.
I know it's like acting but it is so funny to see her irl as this incredibly warm, smiley Australian woman
Sarah Snook is so adorable irl it just shows how good her acting is as Shiv.
She should think about becoming an actress, she might be good at it.

Guys pleaaaaase do Season 2! I know the views are not "House of the Dragon" level, but honestly, it's worth it for a show like Succession, it's truly one of the greatest shows of our time.

Sometimes Achara is cold
Very few shows have melded drama and comedy so beautifully and seamlessly while still keeping the tone feeling so smooth. It’s mind blowing.
Shiv seems different bc she's not even an American irl, she's an Australian. Which affects the acting a lot but you're going to notice that her acting throughout the show is just incredible.
And jaby mentioned Roman's sitting on the chair again. It's his thing jaby. He can't sit on a chair normally a lot of times in the show. It has something to do with his twisted personality.
Season 2 is my favorite season so I hope you guys do that one too
They guy that looked like the police is Colin, Logan's main security detail. He pops up a lot fyi throughout the series. Could you guys also react to the end where the cast and writers talk about the episode? Only one other reactor does that and I love that just to clear some things up of how the scene goes.
I do think that at least Kendall is aware that he is spoiled. Like, he knows that he has that bias, at least. He even said in episode 7 "I was born lucky, I realize that, and you're so jealous. You're jealous of what you've given your own kids." On one hand, they're all spoiled, and all kind of useless, but on the other hand, as children, they can't really do anything about being spoiled. They were never in a position as little kids to, like, realize that they should not let themselves be spoiled.
On minor points, I think the thing that feels different with Shiv's acting is that the character of Shiv is trying very hard to be masculine in a male-dominated space. She's trying to be this thing that doesn't come naturally to her in fear of not being taken seriously. Same thing with Roman, they definitely wrote his weird sitting habits into the script of the show. As a scared child of physical abuse, he has a lot of nervous ticks and he's uncomfortable in his own body, which is also part of the reason he struggles to have sex with a partner. And, I think what happened with Frank last episode was that Frank told Gerri about Kendall's plan to buy the company, but the reason neither of them told Logan is because they were probably considering whether or not the bear hug would actually be good for them as employees. I doubt anyone really holds any ill will against Gerri, since she doesn't have a board vote, she couldn't have done anything to save the vote of not confidence against Logan, and she didn't want to get fired, which they can sympathize with. Gerri and Frank both worked for the company for over 30 years, they have a lot of history and reasonably they're pretty close friends.
Logan is a narcissist, he actually loves his kids just not quite enough to override his pathology. He wants to break Ken, not because he dislikes him but to prove his superiority. In his mind this is just "teaching them business", in reality he just has a compulsion towards mentally torturing other people.
Season 2 please. It only ramps up from here.
Something I noticed only now is that Kendall doesn't really hug Logan back at the end. It's like he's not used to receiving that kind of love from his father (or anyone) and that just makes it even worse

36:08 same!!! when I first started Succession their apathy was soooo frustrating to me... it's kinda sad to realize that by season 4 the cold dynamic had already been normalized in my brain (when it comes to this specific show / family). I hate to be that person BUT fun fact: here in Brazil we call it “ter sangue de barata” which means "to have cockroach blood" lol

There's no apathy there. Shiv loves Tom more than Tom loves her, she's willing to accommodate him if he comes out and says it, hence the deal they talk about in S2 (Tom becoming CEO).
At this point Tom hasn't confessed that he cheated in Rhomboid but Shiv has, and most don't see that.

You are in for a ride. This was just the beginning. From here to s4. You’ll get everything you want and much more. It’s gonna be one of the best ever character studies about the top 0.1% of our society. It’s a tragedy of epic proportions. The performances are some of the best in TV history.
Shiv's actress just hadnt much to work with in season 1, she will be fenomenal in later season and finale!

Basically Kendall presented an offer to buy Waystar for a price per share that should be considered by the board. So basically the letter threatens the family's control of the company
Brian Cox asked the showrunners if Logan actually loves his children. They told him that Logan does love his kids, so he's not a total beast and I think he was able to manipulate the situation to benefit him and protect Kendall
Right, absent the takeover Logan would still, always, have protected Kendall
Only this time around, he also stood to win bigly
So it's even more of a no-brainer
It's funny to me how people cry abt Logan being a "beast" and bad dad

There's a few episodes I've been dying for you to see. This is the first of them. The show only gets exponentially better from here on out.
This is one of my favourite episodes b/c of Roman's blank & silent reaction, immediately after his viewing of the rocket explosion. Kieran Culkin's brilliant performance, just from that scene alone, is truly the ultimate top-notch acting that I've ever seen from an actor in such a long time!!! I lost count on how many times I repeatedly viewed that scene just for the laugh!!! 🤣😂😂🤣

season 1 was just the beginning. succession seasons is like a symphony like in the title, it just gets better and better
The show evolves, speeds up, and slows down in such interesting ways from here on. I think season 1 is fantastic but Logan is recovering and isn't at his full power until almost the end of the season. You really see what makes him such a powerful and capable figure in the next few seasons.
c'mon guys we don't need to be boring watching succession the main characters is literally billionaires y'all would be surprised with how much apologists each one of these characters have on social media (esp the roy siblings) we literally don't care if they're not good ppl we all know that but we have our faves lol let's ignore who can't separate tv/reality OF COURSE ps: season 2 is my favorite

It hurts to see them loving Marcia so much.. The show runners reduced her role later on for no reason.. They could have done so much with her character.
True but also I do think very realistic...none of these older billionaires ever stay long with their women.
Marcia is supporting Logan and asking abused kids to be happy with their abuser (because she wants the double vote). I could never like her.

@@OctavianAsix not exactly on billionaires but as a lawyer I do know a lot of wealthy politicians and ...yet to meet sb who is loyal wihtin their circles. One of the main reasons I changed careers, coz it was too cutthroat for me.Ofc exceptions exist in every situation, but I d say I did move within higher circles for a few years and I d generally advice to keep away from them unless your core values are money , power and status...coz you gotta give up almost everything else if you wanna get those 3.

I love revisiting this series with you guys, now that's done. The writing and scene work are two strongest points of the show. You can argue that not much is happening in each episode and yet you are completely invested and on your toes the whole time. Also, the corporate lingo and behavior is on point!
Kendalls car crash killing a kid compared to Romans rocket explosion killing nobody.
The way that Kendall breaks down and starts to cry, argh, Jeremy Strong did a great job. All the Roy kids are fucked up, this family it's a pile of emotional damage.

It's fucked, because Kendall didn't really killed that kid, but Logan could pull the strings to make it looked like so. I really hope you guys get yo watch season 2... it's my favorite tv show season ever. Perfection.
It's involuntary manslaughter. On drugs, never sought help, he was criminally negligent and he did get that kid killed, if he were sober he could've likely breaked in time.

I think Logan does care to an extent as if he truly did not - he could have just let Ken go to jail...which d also solve the issue, and make Ken out to be sb who d nobody wanna work with. Ken himself does not have the pull to take himself out of that mess, Logan does. So while Logan 1000% used this situation to his own benefit, I d also argue there were multiple venues and he chose the one that is also beneficial to his son.
I have 0% doubts that if Logan had this kinda dirt on Sandy or anyone outside of his family that dares to oppose him, they d be being sent to jail rn.
I didn’t think any season finale could top this one. Then I finished season 2…

U all gonna love it 🙌 it's so fucked that kendall really didnt killed the guy . He could've explained it to the police that he tried to help but he was scared that he will look like a killer thats y he didnt call the cops. At the least with the power he has he would've home quarantined but logan with the power he has he manipulated and made it look like Kendall deliberately killed the guy and he has the power to even make others think that. Its so fucked and him calling kendall his no 1 boy . Ughh kendall will never be a man to him he will never let that happen

It’s funny, going in I thought the thumbnail would be for the car incident but it was actually for the printing error at the beginning of the episode🤣

I never forgave Logan anyway after he hit his grandson but I can't stand people who are rude to those in the service industry. I don't care if they get paid off afterward. It's not cool.

Re: Geri & Frank. This is a very small world they live in. They all have to deal with the same people all the time. They’ve probably all stabbed each other in the back numerous times over the decades to be where they are. Just par for the course.

Season 2 just gets better, this show is fucking goated.
The thing is Logan tells his kids to be useful and make their own money. But then he drags them into his drama just to give them false hopes and keep them under his control fighting for his approval.
You can’t put the genie… OR THE WINE… back in the bottle.
I liked the show before, but after this epiosde I LOVED IT!
