Episode 2 of 19to9, is my Full Bag Custom Golf Fitting experience at American Golf Bournemouth Christchurch. (Filmed Saturday 26th May 2019)
Joe was a great guy, a good laugh and taught me a lot about clubs and my swing. I hope the clubs perform as well on the course as they did during the fit.
Hopefully this'll help me get close to playing at The Masters, or in any RUclips Golf Day to start off with

Cool vid might benefit from custom fit on the attire too 🙂 how did you end up feeling post fit with the clubs ? Did it help improve your handicap at all In the end ?
Why give you shit balls to hit when you're going for a fitting ? Surely they will have an impact on any numbers and consistency and feel

Nice swing for a 10 handicap. I bet it’s your short game that’s the reason you not low digits. Loads of potential to get down there kid. Very elegant smooth swing mate.
Cheers buddy! I'd feel awesome if I was a 10 handicap, I'm actually 20..You're bang on with the short game observation. It's really come on in recent weeks, just need to perform in comps. How you getting on?
James Beare Golf I can’t believe your a 20 handicap. That’s ridiculous. My short game lets me down. I’ve started having coaching on it that’s helped big time. You need to practice chipping & putting as much as your long game he said. The ability to get up & down & you’ll be low digits son. A bit of advice I had from my coach is stop listening to RUclips lessons as it will mess your game up big time as each golfer has a unique swing. You’ve got the best swing I’ve ever seen in a 20 handicap & I’ve been playing for years.
@@theamaturegolfer7798 I'll have to post a picture of my handicap certificate Haha! I've had 3 rounds in a row shooting under handicap including two 41 points. I completely agree with practising short game and your thought on RUclips lessons. They're helpful for practise drills but swing changes can hinder quite a lot. What clubs do you use around the green?
James Beare Golf I use a 56 & 52 wedge around greens, if I’m looking at a pitch & run or I’m not chipping well I’ll sometimes use a hybrid believe or not with a putting stroke. I never play a full shot with a 52 or 56 unless I’m deep in rough. Getting lessons on short game is so beneficial mate honestly.
When I went all the bloke did was try and sell me most expensive clubs no matter how I said I felt the other set were more suited to me?
I’m going to American golf for a custom fit for some new irons in a week or so. First time, I’m just starting out in golf again.. what was the cost for the fitting? They advertise it as free but I guess shafts, grips etc all cost extra..
Hi Michael, great to hear you're getting back into golf! So the fitting session itself was completely free. Depending on the clubs you go for obviously depends how much it'll be. I had the option to upgrade to some different grips for £8.00 each. I went for a set costing £749.00 and to my knowledge the shaft wasn't any extra. But I could be wrong - delivery times differ based on shaft availability but they'll DPD anything to wherever you like. Hopefully you get someone as helpful as I did, who doesn't rush the fit. Make sure to test a few different clubs and shafts to find what works best :) Which American Golf is it you're getting fitted at?

That's cool! Looks like Lincoln have a fitting bay on the Driving Range also. I much preferred getting fitted on the range rather than just a simulator. Felt more natural :) Hope it goes well
James Beare Golf - had my fitting today... very impressed with the fitter. Went for Taylormade M6’s in the end and treated myself to the m6 3 wood also... have you got your new clubs yet? What did you go for?
@@michaelrooke5077 Thanks for letting me know and I'm glad it went well! Unfortunately they haven't arrived yet, should be this week and hopefully get a video out later this week on them. I went for the M5's, I had more consistency with them :) Got any plans to use your new clubs on the course yet?

In my experience, they try to push certain brands/ clubs with high margins and don’t know much about the game. Not nearly d Pugh to custom fit with decent accuracy
