Hi Enda, Tuning up the G to A is similarly applicable to the "other" tenor banjo tuning CGDA. Just tune the low C to up to D, and away we go playing Connacht Man's Rambles in D. i've tried this out on my tenor guitar which happened to be in CGDA tuning. The low D and the octave higher D resonant beautifully.
I’m curious as to what tune you would play after or before this In a set? With the G tuned to A... would you just choose a tune that doesn’t use that string?
