Don’t know quite what it is but there’s something really satisfying when listening to an old motor whining in these. Anything D78 stock or older, I just love it!
At least there was a bit more variety with those stocks running. And a sensible stock replacement plan where they were generally replaced after about 40 years in traffic and with the oldest stock going first rather than a 'big bang' with whole fleets going at once......
@@MetroTitanD78 I don't remember Westminster but certainly the other two. See my very first upload here to see Mansion House and original condition C & D Stocks ruclips.net/video/fsGT0ta30Rc/видео.html
They were built by Metro-Cammell. The A60 stock trains were arriving from the North side of the Circle line, along from Baker Street. The C Stock also came that way plus from Tower Hill on the south side of the Circle, and Aldgate East on the Hammersmith & City Line.....
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Ah, thank you for this. I thought the waving arrival might have been me, but I see I was actually on Leave at that point. Never mind!
Those A stock seats were so comfy.
Yes, a better journey than an S stock.....
I disagree in my opinion but i agree with the seats being more comfortable on the A stock
I remember falling asleep on the comfy d stock seats as a kid despite the noise, wonderful.
But I don't like the air conditioning on the A Stock... I like it on the S Stock instead...

The C69/77 certainly had a whine to them, very high pitched at speed.
Soi Buakhao yes some sounded incredible! Just hearing the whining when they were idling was enough to enjoy! It’s a very nice sound!
It's one of the best sounds of the Underground I think ruclips.net/video/m9C9421X7x0/видео.html
Here's another video of mine with just the sound ruclips.net/video/oIIlWILavu4/видео.html
It's sad to think that this is all gone
Yes, i only filmed it less than 10 years ago but all history now......
Soi Buakhao More like less than 9 years ago
@@elliotsealpup4101 Yes, just approaching the 9 year mark......
😢
Miss the stock A, C and D 😔😔😔😭😣

I thought of the Eurotunnel expansion when Folkestone-Calais is London-Paris.
5:02 that pause...
Does the 5030 A62 Stock includes the East London Line?
Was 1983 tube stock the most recently built model to have the lights blink on the points?
Possibly, i haven't really noticed what more modern stock does!.....
1:36 2:30 2:52 3:52 4:16 5:33 6:43 8:21 these noises...
7:37 caught that. (C stock on circle line)
Weird to think that this station was mostly open air once.
I don't remember it being open at the District Line end but certainly at the Liv St end.
I'm fairly certain the District Line end was once many moons ago but definitely the Liverpool street end was til about roughly 35 years ago
Other stations where you could see daylight and scenery was Mansion House, Gloucester Road and Westminster to name a couple.

What about the A62?
The only difference between an A60 & A62 was the compressors, the A62s had a different design, and slightly different noise.....
What about the C Stock on the Circle Line?
One arrives at 7.37 min......
Is the 5707 C Stock and the 5030 A62 Stock available?
Yes, that is the correct numbers for the stock........
Where does the 5707 C Stock and the 5030 A62 Stock coming from?
They were built by Metro-Cammell. The A60 stock trains were arriving from the North side of the Circle line, along from Baker Street. The C Stock also came that way plus from Tower Hill on the south side of the Circle, and Aldgate East on the Hammersmith & City Line.....
Does this station have ZiU trolleybuses and Konstal trams?
No.......
Why not?
Was there an s stock on the metropolitan Line?
A few had entered service by then i believe....
What about the ones on the rest of the subsurface lines?
All a, c and d stocks are gone?
Yes, the D stock was the last and had gone by April 2017
Do you happen to have the date of filming?
I filmed this on 11 April 2011 in the evening just at the start of rush hour.

@@squarewheelsorguk Yes, it's always nice to spot yourself driving. I have been videod many times over the years but seen very little of it!
1:36,6:43 and 8:21 makes me laugh
That's the sound of the A Stock.
What laugh about??
Refurbishing and painting them up made them more presentable.
They looked pretty raggedy in 1989 when I watched driver's eye view.
True, but back before the mid 1980s malaise 7 graffetti menace they looked great!
the 7 above should have been '&', slippy fingers on the keyboard i'm afraid....
Soi Buakhao glad to see it wasn't just my way when things started to go to s*** in the mid 80s.
@@jamesfrench7299 No, things did indeed go downhill in the 1980s, public transport was seen as a second clsas way to travel!
All of these are better than the Shite S stock and Emma Clarke is better than Sarah Parnell
Yes, it's hard to work up too much enthusiasm for them.....
That's for the Central Line.
You are so biased. Giving The Metropolitan Line the most attention.
The A60s were due to be withdrawn first so i was out to capture them running at Aldgate. I have other vids with more C Stock working....
