Kamp Kenan is the place for serious reptile lovers! We have tons of expert info on pet lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoise, sulcata tortoise, red foot tortoise, crocodiles, alligators and all sorts misunderstood creatures. We also love to learn from other animal experts, like Brian Barczyk, King of DIY & Blakes exotic animal ranch, who are happy to share knowledge about pets. We love reptiles & science and we know you do too. Animal conservation in the modern world matters, we're out there living it and doing it every day in Florida. This vlog is real life, Kenan Harkin's stories are real, and our sole purpose is education in action so that you can learn something new every day and one day perhaps get involved yourself.
Let's create a new generation of educated reptile keepers & animal enthusiasts by spreading the love!
Dude, your the best!
For a city dweller like me, in an area where there are no turts or torts, you give me my nature fix
i want to camp in your backyard so bad...
Haha thank you very much. Ps. Don’t let me catch u in my yard🤠
I love seeing their little noses poke up 🥰
Kenan ur pond greenery and animals are inspirational to me and always will be great job on the animals and exotic beautiful ecosystem
Love seeing all their little heads popping up out of the water for the food!
If I were you, I wouldn't want to leave either! You are seriously living your best life like a BOSS. If only all of us could be as happy as you are. It's what I aspire to, anyway.
“We got the fly, dabbing all over the place”
🤣😂
Ha coolest tert in town
Hey Kenan idea on how to breed them, I actually was reading about how they breed fly rivers the other day listening to a reptile vet. The females will go on an embankment and lay their eggs in the sand, they then will incubate and wait for the monsoon season to "activate" the eggs. Theres a 50 day stasis period when they can hatch. This technique is similar to how all sea turtles hatch at the same time so they have better chances of not being eaten. So for captive breeding, you would incubate the eggs of the female and after the gestation period, it's instant turtles! Just add water!. Maybe a project for you in the future if you ever want another pond (we know you do) with a sand area for a female and a barrier around it so they can't climb out it would be a fun and a great way to get captive bred fly rivers to the public! Your buddy the pond prof recently made a little habitat for his small fly river so think of something like that!
Awesome knowledge, and a great idea
Lol. I laughed when you lost your finger
Red eared sliders are my fave, but I didnt know that they lose color when they get older.
Hey .. everyone Moniee- Mon , is listening thanks for the info and videos. Keep doing what 'cha do best God bless you 🙏❤💖🙌
My favorite thing in the world it to venture into my big pond and discover someone I did not expect! Last time it was a baby Florida Softshell. Had not thought the parents were old enough to lay. Surprise!!!
Thats awesome!🤠
@@KampKenan Got to be a first for the Yucatan!
I love how a Fly River Turtle will slap the shit out of themselves when drawn from the water. It always makes me laugh.
🤣🤣🤣 Chunky little bat wings!
Almost like its saying to itself “how the fuck did u get yourself caught!!!”
A turtle: swim for it! That human is grabbing turtles again!
🐢 🐢 🐢 🐢 🐢 🐢
Great video! And I didn't realize that turtles could shed. I thought only snakes and other reptiles did...
When Kenan yells,
Tom Hanks gets another 5 cents in royalties!
Seriously, Kenan DOES sound like Tom Hanks when he yells...
Hi Kenan The turtle's get excited to get fed. Then swim as fast as you can, he is going to try and catch you. 🐊🦎🐢❤️ Cindy
This is a really cool video, seeing the turtles walk up to the camera and come so close. When you see turtles in the wild they just dart away into the water and are hard to see. Really loved this type of video!
Turtle man ain't got shit on Kenan Hahahaha. Love seeing them all.
Just watched this for the 3rd time its one of my favorite videos i love seeing the big pond and the squad. So fun. The little heads poppin up everywhere is so stinkin cute.
The acting was a solid 10/10
I just love when you show us this pond. I was just thinking the other day how much I wish you would have a video of the turtles in there 😊
Kamp Kenan you live in paradise !
Wow fly river was beautiful
Nice to have large personal ponds and have the privilege to interact with beautiful species of large turtles from all over the planet. Also I forgot that you had an Argentinian side-neck turtle.
Kenan: Fred don't trip!
Fred: trippin
lol
So kool how the turtles just come right up to you to get fed. This was fun watching you with the turtles.
Always fun to catch up
I love how your ponds are!! I’ve always loved turtles and the aquatic ones are my favorite! Just started watching your videos about a month ago and I’m a huge fan!!! You and a few other you tubers have inspired me to try and become a conservationalist for turtles ☺️
If ur not already I'd suggest going through kenans back log and see from 1 humble pond to 2 ponds an 4 aqua shapes, to slinkys first appearance to my favourite pinkys first appearance. A true growth story and a ton of awesome info
These water turtles are soo beautiful
I love your Video's Kenan!! You are so funny and educational...Would love to see more about the River Turtles ..They are my favorite...
I actually do remember when Ed tripped trying to release the turtle! 🤣 definitely a classic Kamp Keman moment!
Very fortuitous to take the phone out of your pocket JUST in time!
Yes. We’ve made that a mistake more than once!!
@@KampKenan it happens to the best of us, my friend!
I am sure, he's not so happy about the video remind, embarrass him publicly, again.
So cool. Your property is beautiful. If possible, I’d love to see some drone footage.
Kenan lots of ❤️❤️ for all your animals and the efforts, dedication and love you put in taking good care of them. Support from Sweden!
Thank you so much Massimo!!
Omg was so exciting to see the fly river turtle ..
Love them Fly River turtles
Kenan I just watched a video on Galopagos tortoises. And when humans came there they brought goats and guavas. The goats have almost been erradicated by the park rangers allowing th eislands to revert back for the tortoises. What may have saved them was the guava, and on some islands there it is their first fruit of choice. Maybe you should plant some guava for your galaops and aldabras?
Pretty sure he has some, a video from a few years ago he posted. ruclips.net/video/VVWB0OVt2P8/видео.html
just saw a video on a galop chomping down on a live baby bird
@@sdqsdq6274 tortoises are very opportunistic
The Florida red belly has the right idea. Just eat eat eat.
She slippy annnnnd she bites! Sounds like a fun Friday!😆...
Awesome fun to watch 😅 thanks as usual
All those “heads” popped up and are coming in for their share. Didn’t know that there were that many in the pond. Nice surprise.
That turtle (fly turtle) has got to be the cutest turtle I have ever seen it's almost got the face of a seal by far the best one in your pond... Absolutely..... LOVED..... this video.... thanks for getting muddy so we could see him/her ....❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great vid as always, super entertaining & informative. Much respect to just make your vids in one shot with barley any cuts. & you’re a savage digging around in the pond like that lol sketchy af!
You had three (3) of those fly river beauties. Where'd number 3 go, another pond or rehomed?
This man is a gem.
Always a fun video to see ya catch those guys!
You're very talented you make it feel like we're spending an afternoon with you, also just wanted to say thanks I'm learning a lot from watching you to learn how to build my tiny little channel

Love it, wish I could live like that !
Hey Brother, great video and even better turtle pond! Just FYI however, in 2004, that would have been Frances, and then Gaston, (not Gene) and shortly after, Ivan...
Now... there was a JEANNE named storm that year, but it made landfall on Florida just over a month after Frances. (Aug 24 - Frances / Sept 26 - Jeanne) Did you perhaps mean Ivan? Because you said it was only a week or so after, those are the two that got us badly. Frances and Ivan... Although, all three, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne did hit Florida.
I remember it well because I got socked with Frances and then Ivan... Watched a dumpster float through the front window of a pizza shop I was working for at the time and then watched half our kitchen equipment get sucked out by the current and float away down into the heart of town which the main river had essentially CONSUMED....
The pizza shop was just down and bit and under my apartment and then we saw the US National Guard come through with a big deuce and a half truck and launch a pontoon swiftboat to rescue people from 2nd story windows! However the current was too strong and those National Guard boys got the scare of their lives as the current just spun them around and around in an eddy and they motored the hell back up and out of the worst of it. Worst flood I ever saw in my life. My brother and his friend at the Fire Dept were rescuing folks on the FD Jet Ski all day the next day. Folks were standing on their rooftops and then would hop onto the JetSki. (It was both surreal and awesome comic relief to see little old ladies and old men holding onto a firefighter cutting up on a SkiDoo headed straight up Main street to a patch of dry land). My front yard was a lake... it was normally a sidewalk and a large main road... Scary shit, I remember it very well. That was the year of Frances, Gaston, and Ivan. (Ivan was the one that kicked our asses because the ground was saturated from Frances a few weeks earlier!)
The Fly River looks like a seal in a shell!
Thank you.
Crazy kid you were having to much fun
Really enjoyed taking a swim in today's video 🏊♂️
This pond is why I originally subbed.
The fly river turtle has quickly become my favorite of your aquatic turtles. I personally like Mata Mata most, but the fly river is quickly gaining favor.
They're so cute, kind soft looking, round, hog nosed, and those flappy little flippers are precious. Haha
Haha that Fly River have you a run for your money !
Wow wat a beautiful flyer
You're making me want to swim with the turtles lol. I love it.
You are so educational and funny! Love the channel ❤
Love watching you and the turtles! What mode GoPro are you using because that audio is crispy!!!
I think you should do more videos on his Pond turtles
You are the best RUclipsr I love you!!

Yaaas! Turtle 🐢 video! 🥰🥰🐢🐢🐢
Excellent video buddy great job your doing 👏 👍🏿 😀 👌🏿 🙌
I absolutely love your property and passion for your reptiles this video was a blast to watch you to try and introduce us to your various turtles, you mentioned about 'crustaceans' have you or would you consider adding local crayfish to the ponds?
That was an awesome video. Fun!
THANKS FOR THE FLYRIVER FIX AND ALL THE OTHER BEAUTYS
Another great video Kenan, I love it! :)
Kenan have you ever thought bout building a deck leading to the tree in the middle and having the deck going around the tree? That would be kind of cool
Would love it. Maybe someday soon:)
Much love & prosperity family ⚛️😌
Fly river turtles second profession besides swimming is dabbing
Yes the Fly River!!!
So much for "You hugs aren't waterproof. "
What food do you feed your fly river? Do they eat vegetation/fruit that fall in like they would in the wild. Do you throw some in there for them? Do they eat pellets?
Greetings from finland.
Those are some really amazing turtles.
you could of been a comedian or an actor but I'm glad you are doing what you're doing. Great infotainment
I would love to visit with my kids
I believe a fountain helps with clearity
Hi kenan
Wait, sliders have to eat in the water?
There’s lots of red eared sliders in the pond by my house (they’re very much native to my area) and we feed them lettuce and other veggies and fruits sometimes. Sometimes we even bring them mealworms (the ibises at the pond love those).
The bigger turtles often come out of the water to get food from us and let us pet them. They’ll eat small pieces of lettuce or small blueberries and the like outside the water.
Should I not let them do that? Is it unhealthy for them?
Keep up the awesome videos 😊
Hey I have a question for you, so if their ever is a hurricane and you need to evacuate would you be able to take all you’re animals? Or how would everything go ??
Check out our older vids during September each year. You’ll see us prep for storms and the aftermath
@@KampKenan awesome that’s a lot of work but we’ll worth it!
Hey Kenan!! Do you ever find turtle nests by the pond or hatchlings? For your GoPro, cause it fell in the water (you can also do this for any electronics, especially mobile phones) remove the memory card & battery, take a plastic container, pour rice on the bottom, put your GoPro in, cover it in rice, put a cover on the container & leave it in the rice 24-48hrs. The rice will pull out all the moisture in the GoPro & it should be fine after that. Even if it didn't go completely under the water, if there is just a little bit of water that got in the cam it can potentially rust the components & ruin the camera. Cheers bud!!
Lol that was a funny vid brother. So much for not letting the gopro wet.
Lol loved to watch you go turteling
The fact that she peeped before running lol
9ts so cool seeing all the little heads pop up outta the water ! Love seeing this it’s so cool !
LOVE, love, love your videos. Can't get enough of them.
I'm actually surprised you don't have bigger turtles. The soft shells in my apartment lakes are huge. They must be even older than I thought.
Soft shells are the second largest turtles in the world I believe, after the leather sea turtles. I guess they also grow very slowly.
@@42ZaphodB42 Nah they’re not even top 10. The majority of the biggest turtles in the world are sea turtles.
i love your videos and i really enjoy seeing all of your lovely animals!
you got me xD you definitely should take up acting
Those melanistic red ear sliders were already dark when they are born. Red ear sliders don't just turn black when they get old
ken an put the Fly River turtle in the aquascape pond so we can see it more often !
They're following you around...lol
Amazing video as always
Thanks! Glad u enjoyed it:)
Wow!! Those turtles are so stinkin rad!!! (pun intended(get it, turtles musk in defense))
