A series of on board and lineside clips of class 14 'Teddy Bear' D9539 in action at the Spa Valley Railway, during the 2015 Summer Diesel Gala held from Thursday 30th July to Sunday 2nd August.

:) enjoyed that greatly, what a wonderful sound those 14s make :) You must have a good windshield on your camera. One question, I don't get this arm waving they all seem to do, sometimes it looks a little suspect like a salute???

MikesMovies Thanks Mike. They sure do sound great for a small loco. Just shows you don't need big locos to make lots of noise!
Regarding the 'windshield', it's simply just a piece of fur (from a former video camera mic) that I've attached to the camera (not actually a video camera but a Nikon DSLR) using a very small piece of double sided tape. Reasonably effective.
As for the arm waving, it's a way many enthusiasts use to appreciate the locomotives they travel behind. Started in the 1970s/1980s I believe when interest in diesel traction was becoming more and more popular.
