  • How I learnt to stop worrying and love painting again...
Join me on a voyage of discovery as I break free from the tyranny of the Warhammer box-art style and explore new methods of layering colours. Informed by the CYMK colour model of printing, Shimmer Glazing is an exciting technique that allows you to add splashes of riotous colour to your minis with next to no effort.
I will painting this Banner Bearer from the Cities of Sigmar army from start to finish, showing you how I employed Shimmer Glazing to achieve these vibrant and varied tones of colour.
I will also be thinking about:
    - Life as a professional commission painter
    - Working with ADHD
    - What it means to be an artist

i dont usually comment on videos & i know nothing about minis but i want to commend you on the quality of this video. as an artist the end comments about experimenting and making art for you were so welcome and important to hear. and the finished figure looked amazing as well, what an awesome technique. keep up the amazing work!

Something similar to the neon you could try is neon uv reactive, then you could have a legit light source glow for neon under black light. First pass at a Skeletor type face has had promising results for me. I think I'll be giving this style of 2 tone undercoat with glazes a shot and see what kind of results I can get.

What brush do you have there? I think one of the problems I have is that I don't have a single sharp brush, they all seem to have rounded tips.

It's a Windsor and Newton Series 7. I use a 1 and a 0 in the video. They are kinda pricey but worth it, no other brush I've used has the right snap and if you care for them they can last years.
